    Subchorionic hemorrhage??

I started bleeding on Saturday and still am. I went to the hospital on Sunday and they did an U/S and baby's heart beat is fine. They said i have a Subchorionic Hemorrhage, and that it should settle down. The problem is that they didnt really explain it to me and the Dr didnt speak very good English, so i didnt really understand much of what she did tell me. I was sure that i was having a m/c, it was just like the first one i had, so im still really stressed because bleeding to me is just not a good sign when your pregnant. They never told me how long it should last or any signs to look for that something is wrong??
Has anyone ever had this, or does anyone have some more information that can shed some light or ease my mind?

    Thanks

I had a Subchorionic Hemorrhage early on in this pregnancy. I started a thread about it too. Here is some helpful stuff you may want to read out of it.

A subchorionic hemorrhage occurs when there is bleeding in between the layers of the gestational sac. This is quite a common finding and the pregnancies usually go on to term.

You will have a number of follow up ultrasound scans to monitor the area where the bleeding occurred. I have followed more chronic hemorrhages than I could count. I can't think of a case that had a poor outcome.

There is also another few threads on it. Here is another thread for you to read.

I wish you well huni, I know how stressful this time can be.

    Thanks Trish,
I feel so alone at the moment, none of my friends have had this and I cant find much on the net that makes much sense to me.

Thanks for the threads and the support

Hun, I am so sorry you don't have the support around you that you need at this time.

My bleeding lasted the better part of a week I think. And no matter how much there is, any blood when you are preg is scarey.

Are you still bleeding ? Can you get in to see your GP for your HCG levels to be checked, maybe seeing them rise maybe reassuring to you. I also had a repeat scan 10 days later, just to check on things. Is that a possibilty for you ??

There are alot of girls here on BB who have been through the exact same thing and go one to have perfectly healthy little babies. I am sure this will be the case for both of us hun.

    Hi Treelo
You need to rest as much as you can. If possable go to bed for 2 days and only get up to go to the toilet. No lifting, housework, exercise, laundry, in fact do nothing. If the bleeding has not stopped after this of if it increases then go back to the hospital

    Hi Alan,
Thanks for the advice. I will try and do that, but I have to look after the boys.
Im going to take tomorrow off work and stay in bed once i get them off to school and kindy. I have a dr's appointment at 12.30 as well.
The bleeding has not stopped or eased off, its been 3 days now.
Trish - Im sure we will be fine, just have to take it easy and cross our fingers that our bubs are not effected by it all. I will definatly be wanting another scan in 10 days to make sure its still ok.

thanks so much for the advice and support

Well im still bleeding and im still struggling to understand whats happening. How do i know that the bleeding im having is from SCH? What if its something else that could harm my baby? I went to the Dr today and she just said that I should be optimistic since baby seemed to be doing fine on Saturday and that there are no rules as to when the bleeding should stop, except that in most cases it goes away after the first trimester. So now i have to wait till next Thursday to see if my baby is still ok. Its going to be the longest week ever. I have to go to work on Friday, I hope the bleeding has at least eased off a bit by then.

    take care everyone

    Treelo,

If you look at my signature you will see my baby is nearly 7 weeks old.

I had a SCH when I was pregnant with him and I bled from 6 weeks-14 weeks pregnant. It was sometimes very heavy and sometimes had clots and it was a very stressful horrible time. I felt on edge the whole time, and like you, I always wondered if the bleeding was still the SCH. I had a doctor that made things worse that told me that I'd lost the baby for sure in the beginning, and diagnosed that without ordering a scan. He was wrong obviously .

I changed doctor's because of this early on and my new doctor was surprised I'd gotten so far without regular scans (I was 9 weeks pregnant) and I nearly cried when he asked how on earth I was coping mentally with not knowing. So I had regular scans and regular blood tests from then on.

The outcomes for SCH are most of the time good ones, just like my baby was. It's more about you getting rest and support and accepting this will be a hard time for you. I can't and wont' tell you to just relax, because that's impossible when you are pregnant and bleeding, but I do urge you to find a health provider that will give you the reassurance of regular scans and blood tests while you are bleeding if you feel that will help.

Big hugs :hugs:, hang in there and take hope in the good outcomes. You have much more of a chance of having a perfectly healthy baby than not. I'm sorry you have to go through this and I really wish you the best.

    Thanks Tara,

Leo is absolutly gorgeous and looking at his little face sure does give me hope. The clots freaked me out, and still do. The bleeding is just like my misscarriage, and my doctor is very sympathetic. She is also a family friend. She said as long there was a heartbeat then the signs are very good. The hospital hadnt sent her any information from my visit yet, so it was hard for her to tell me what is happening. But i will be having a scan next thursday and praying really hard that we will see that precious heartbeat again. Thank you for your reply, my bleeding seems very much like yours, light then heavy, with clots, then light again.
I will try and take it easy at work, but it will be hard. Its even harder at home, Lawson is soooooo full on. He screams at me when i wont pick him up and he is just so demanding.

    hugs
    Treelo
