I was told by my GP to decide where I wanted to go and if it was private, you are better off ringing sooner than later to make a booking as they book up. So I had my OB appointment, blood test done and everything booked by 8 weeks. but as everyone said, it all depends where you want to go.
last time i rang and registered at 6 weeks and had my booking in appt at 12 weeks.
this time i rang at 4 weeks and they seemd in shock that anyone would ring so early. I've still hear nothing back from them, supposedly they will mail me out an appt and some info, but not til close to my appt. I dont uinderstand why they cant send it to me early, even it the appt is not til 12 weeks, so i at least know Im properly registered
With Darcy we booked both public and private hospitals. The private I had to book straight away at 12 weeks as they get booked out and won't accept any more patients once they're full. The public I didn't get an appointment with until 20 weeks.
This time we're in a little country town. There is only one hossy, so I think I'd be able to book into there right up until I go into labour lol. However they like to see you from 12 weeks right after your NT scan.
