Best Pregnancy Book Reccomendations!!!

Highly second 'grub17's' opinion on Juju's Sundin's book with Sarah Murdoch. Brilliant ideas and ways to handle your labour with confidence. I used this with my first bub it really helped me when I had no idea what I was about to face. Goes through a lot of things that your partner can help you with throughout the labour too... Priceless IMO.
Up the duff was very good too. Bit of a laugh with good facts aswell. What to expect when your expecting can be a bit old fashioned but all the info is there.

I've got Up The Duff and What to Expect When You're Expecting and love them both. Definitley look at buying them at Kmart, Target or Big W as they're much cheaper or look online or go to a secondhand book shop.

Up The Duff is fun but informative. It's great to read about the novel side of pregnancy.

What to Expect is very detailed and has lots of excellent medical info so I use that one when something happens that I'm not sure about, like braxton hicks

i wouldnt waste your time or money on up the duff or what to expect when expecting both are not particularly "useful" books, just fluffy pg books really. it wont really prepare you for labour and birth.

That may be true (I can't say for sure yet as I haven't been through labour) but they do give a really good insight into what is happening to you and bubs each week, which is what Bee asked for.

I second Kaz Cooke's book - I borrowed it off my SIL once and thought it was a great read. But I think the very best pregnancy book, which my mum bought for me when I was first pregnant, is Sheila Kitzinger's 'New Pregnancy and Childbirth'. It is very very good - highly recommend it!

TBH I never liked 'What to expect...' I borrowed it from the library once and wasn't that impressed. It did have all the relevant information and was very detailed etc, but I felt like I was being talked down to when I read it.

I really loved the book by Lesley Regan called "your pregnancy week by week" because i loved the photos there and seeing real life changing images.

The book is a bit pricy though (i think i paid $60). Maybe try ebay.

Soz, i would have lent it to you but my friend has borrowed it now.
