I have my hair coloured (foils) and have done all the way through both pregnancies. I'm with Lulu2, you just can't have bad hair when you're fat. I always make sure I have pedicures and manicures too, it's nice to feel nice....
I thought I might bump this thread up if anyone else is wondering about this.
I`ve been wanting to get foils in my hair for months but I`ve been paranoid about it, last week I very nearly rang the hairdresser to make an appointment but didn`t as I`m still feeling paranoid.
So once I`m over my paranoia I`ll make an appointment but how do I get over it....
Oh hun, if you really do feel scared about doing it, then don't. But I coloured my hair and had foils about 3 times during my pregnancy after 12 weeks gestation.
Voice your concern's to your HD, they might have other suggestions.
Hi, one of my best friends is a hairdresser and she recommends foils to anyone who is concerned about getting a colour because they don't touch the scalp, she said that there is no risk through inhaling the smell of the colour because otherwise all pregnant hairdressers would have to give up work for 9 months and she worked right through both of her pregnancies safely
In the letter my ob sent out when i rang and booked in, there were some notes about things and one was colouring of hair, he said there was no need to stop colouring hair as there is nothing to suggest there being an issues or harm caused by it. I guess my only thought would be the fumes - but generally that isn't much at all these days, so i'm happy to say I had mine done 2 wks ago
I get mine done every 8 weeks....and have 3 healthy children + 1 on the way.
I figure hairdressers have babies too - they colour there hair all the time.....it might be a problem if you eat the hair solution....LOL...but as for putting it on your hair - meh, i say go for it.....
