Dr didnt even say congrats hrmmm

dr didn't even say congrats to us when she did the test. Nor did she say i need to take any kind of vitamins or anything just said come back in a week after blood results come back.

i hate it how ppl think that just cause its baby number 5 you seem to care less or seem to be so educated on it you dont need a professional to tell you information. I like being told things even if i know it. She took no weight didnt have a feel or nothing strange my old dr used to do all that very strange really upset my hubbie and me too.

that really sucks babe. i am so with you on that one. some ppl i guess just dont realise how precious it is to find out your pregnant, no matter how many times you have been there before. i also just dont like abrupt business like care. but maybe that's just me...

Perhaps a different view, but I don't have a problem with a doctor not saying congrats. I went with a girlfriend to the doctor and the pregnancy was unwanted. The congratulations from the doctor sent her into hysterics... I guess by them saying congratulations that's them 'judging' your pregnancy, so to speak....

    I'll stop rambling now.

As for not mentioning vitamins... Well for that they should be bollocked.

that's no good for you, i'm sorry you felt let down.
on a lighter note, when i found out i was pregnant in hospital, it was very unexpected, and it was this poor young male dr's first time ever telling anyone they were expecting, i said 'oh f*ck', and vomited... poor bugger.

    I feel for you!!!!!

When I went to the Dr to confirm if I was pregnant, he was an absolute jerk. First he asked me what made me think I was PG... I told him I did a test and it was positive so I thought i'd better come in... he then responded "well if you've done a test and it's positive then there's not much more I can tell you". I pee'd in the cup and they tested it and he says "yep your pregnant" and asked me if it was planned. I said no it was very unexpected and he had the nerve to turn around and say to me "Oh well, most first pregnancies end in miscarriage anyway" as if he was trying to make me feel better!!!!! It was a surprise but i certainly didn't "not want" the baby... then he sent me on my merry way without any advice, referrals or indication as to what I was supposed to do from there. I'm still a tad bitter about it lol.

I had the same thing today.

Took blood, took my height....and that's it. My appointment was 11am and I was finally seen at 12:05...

I eventually got out of there after almost 2 hours and after beeing bluntly told that I was not being given an ultrasound until I am 18 weeks regardless of whether I want a NT test. I was bluntly told I would have to pay for it myself if I want an NT test as I'm only 31 and the risk is 1 in 700.

Many pro's in this field have to work on their EQ

It's normal to pay for a NT test. I paid for mine & I was 41 at the time. You don't get them free just because you are over 35.

squidpa - It could be that the doc has had some bad experiences with congratulating people with unwanted pregnancies. I would also say that most doctors wouldn't advise a woman who already had 4 kids to take vitamins.... it's a bit obvious isn't it?
