    Still waiting...

Looks like we may have to wait a little longer. I rang the clinic as I was getting a little impatient and the receptionist goes on to tell me that I have only been waiting 6 days not 10 and it takes 10 to 14 buisness days and that we should know NEXT WEEK!
The specialist told me 10 days, everything says within 14 days/fortnight, a fortnight is not counted in buisness days... if it is 10 buisness days why did the specialist say 10 days!

I am a little angry or maybe upset at the moment. Do I really have to believe that it might be another 10 days?!

I have just looked back at Matildas paperwork and her test was done on Dec 20th, final results were recieved on Jan 3rd, a total of 14 days.

My guess is that I could be waiting until maybe Friday... hopefully no longer.

As I saw in a post of Nae's earlier today 'when it rains it pours'... in my life at the moment it really is pouring, this pregnancy/CVS stuff is only part of it .

I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers, I was so overwhelmed logging in to see the amount of messages of support for me today.
    Thankyou all so much .

Sweetheart it isn't business days that's crappola... Ring up and ask to speak to the specialist. It takes a second for the results to be faxed or emailed through. I would be demanding more if it were me.
This is so hard for you - I wish I could take some of this angst away...

I hope you don't have too long to wait, hun. Not knowing is just awful and I can't believe the receptionist wasn't more empathetic for your situation.

ohhh hun, I am so sorry you have to wait longer
I would do what Flowerchild suggested and ring the specialist and get the results faxed (assuming everything has been completed) such a difficult time for you wish there was something I could do to help cheer you up .....

    Hi DD

It's not business days. It takes that long for testing because they have to wait for enough cells to grow so they can check them out. Cells don't work on the business calendar.

Hope its not too much longer,

    take care,

    Kate

I had a very similar thing happen to me when I was awaiting Amnio results. I know it is so very stressfull waiting.

What I did was contact the Dr who did the amnio directly and got him to get me the name of the person doing the test and contact details. I then called, every single day. They were very understanding about me calling. I just hated waiting and if I called every morning at least I wouldn't spend the entire day by the phone.

Fingers crossed its sooner rather than later.

Kate that is just what I said, what the cells stop growing over the weekend and clock back on on Monday! Silly girl!

I have decided that I will (try) to wait until Wednesday or Thursday and if I haven't heard anything I will call and request to speak with the specialist.
I might just mention to him also that he should speak with his receptionist as she is giving out incorrect information and causing added stress in an already difficult time, for me, as I had my test on a Friday, this would of added an extra 6 days (Saturdays and Sundays) to my waiting, that is an extra week, that is the last thing you want to hear, especially if it is not true.

I am feeling a bit stressed tonight, just to think I am naturally a patient person, they are testing that aren't they?

Just about to settle down for a dose of Home and Away and a cup of tea.

Hopefully it isn't to much longer.
