I was told I had a uterine fibroid when I was pregnant with DS. It was only 3cm from memory.
Mine also was not in the way to cause any problems and I honestly had no pain or discomfort during pregnancy or birth (normal drug free VB)

From what an OB told me your hormones whilst you are pregnant will cause the fibroid to increase in size and then once you have given birth and hormones levels go back to normal they usually shrink.

DS is 10 months old and I havn't followed up on my fibroid but I am due for a pap smear in may so I will be asking my GP if I need to have an US to check on it or not!

Hope this helps ease your mind as it sounds similar to my situation and I had no idea it was even there and forgot about it during my pregnancy! My son was born at 39weeks and 1 day so no pre term birth here!!
