So this is bub #4, and yes, every pregnancy I've suffered severe heartburn. I'm 16 weeks and have been on ranitidine for 3 weeks already! So even though I've been through this a few times, I'm still always on the lookout for new remedy ideas!

Basically it's not affected adversely if I have spicy food, fatty food or anything in particular. It's always the same, so cutting out foods doesn't work. I've found in the past drinking icy cold spearmint flavoured milk soothes enough for me to fall asleep lol, but it can get rather expensive.

Has anyone else had success with any other remedy??
This may be a little late but hopefully it helps others. Heartburn can range from mild to severe and depending on how bad it is will determine whats best for relief. Info comes from Heartburn Relief. Tums and antacids do not stop hearburn from happening but react with acid to nuetralize acid. This is good for very mild heartburn that occurs rare. Prilosec stops the stomach from producing acid and is better when symptoms happen more often. They recommed Prilosec over other similar medications. More info about Prilosec vs Pepcid. I have had bad heartburn the past ten years and very few things help me. Tums is useless to me because it takes 4 antacids to provide relief that only lasts an hour before it gets bad again. I needed something that stopped the stomach from over producing acid.
