Ah, I never got to 'announce' it like a normal person. Except on BB. But I was too scared to do that really.
I would love to surprise DH with an announcement out of the blue. That would be great - nothing fancy, just a Guess what?!
we had planned to give everyone a christmas card with a pic of bub from 12 week scan - but some twit at Target told my aunt and ruined it all so i had to do the family ring around early. i did manage to surprise a few rellos by changing my fb profile pic at 12 weeks - they rang other family instead of asking me outright lol
I just ring people and tell them. lol
All our family is OS or the other side of the country, so no other way really. Besides, I'm not one for dramatics about all that sort of stuff.
I don't even remember how I told DH about DD2.
For DH he was right there with me when I tested. Well not in the bathroom but you get what I mean..
with Ds1 we told people to their face although with my mum I was scared so she got told over the phone
With our other 3 we got Ds1 first to announce it to my mum.. with Ds3 we got Ds2 to ring the inlaws and when we found out about DD we got Ds3 to ring SIL..
We just changed who found out first each time
With our losses I am not sure why but we just announced it ourselves. Maybe we knew on a deeper level it wasn't going to end well but either way they were announced like the others
Out of my 3 pregnancies, this was my favourite moment of revealing a pregnancy:
With DS1, I got a BFP the day before DH's birthday. I kept quiet, which was hard.
I wrapped the HPT up and wrote a card saying: 'this gift isn't ready yet, but here's a hint...'.
My DD handed each present to DH- one at a time - on the morning of his birthday. I saved the HPT for last. DD was sitting next to him as he opened it. I watched the momentary confusion, then realisation, then delight- and he cried. (I had miscarried two cycles previously, and I think he had taken it even harder than I had). I have a photo of DS and DD sitting together as he opened the HPT. It always gives me a lovely feeling when I look at it.
