Some of my birthy contacts swear by this for ear infections:
A drop of garlic juice (literally, no more than that is needed) in, say, a tsp. of olive oil, and drip a few drops of it into your ear.

Yes! I have used this and it works. It also works for worms - but obviously inserted into the rectum not the vagina!![]()
I have heard loads of people rave about it working really well... will have to keep it in mind *touch wood* if I get an infection![]()

I'm torn between rapturous interest and uproarious laughter. (Envisaging DH's reaction if I tell him where I'll be sticking a clove of garlic before my GBS swab this time) Do you know if you can just crush a little bit with some olive oil or something and swab in there - I would be far too afraid of it being too difficult to get out.
It's not too hard to get out my love... Just a bit of a fish around - but usually it comes out in the toilet! I use olive oil to put it in...
As for the ear.... I have used garlic poultice over an ear that was infected - a friend swore by it and I used it on DD14 when she was about 3... It seemed to work too!
I've heard of people getting some cotton/other string and tying it around a clove.... but I'm sure you could sweep your finger around and bring it down pretty easy enough?![]()

Yes, it can't get "lost"... Usually when you bear down sitting on the loo it pops out on it's own...
Excellent, well that makes me a bit gamer. Good to know there's something I can do to try and not get Strep B this time around - I'll give it a go later leading up to the test.
Can someone re post this in about 2 years when I'm ready to have bubs #3 I've had GBS twice now, and it will be hard enough having a bubs over 30 and being treated like a lepper for that, let alone having strep as well.
Ah the uncertainty of when you will be allowed out of hospital because of it, and peads being too interested in that to notice your bub has displaced hips!!!!
Is this safe todo during pregnancy? I'm assuming it is, but just want to make sure. This is my 2nd bout of thrush in 2 mthsi dont wanna suffer right through my pregnancy
