    low blood pressure ~ twins

I have been told that we are possibly having twins and have a scan Friday to confirm. I am also having symptoms of low pb. For those who know or have had twins, can there be a connection. If I am having twins am I likely to have Low bp?
    Thanks

    Hi Rose
It is not unusual to have low BP early in your pregnancy. I doubt that it is related to you having twins

I just wasn't sure cause I have never had low BP with the other pg, in fact it has been up with the others and I am on asparin to help prevent high bp with this pg. as I have had high bp inbetween these last two pg.

    Thanks

Your low BP is caused by your blood vesels expanding but you body has not yet increased your blood supply to keep up with this expansion. There is not a great deal that you can do about this. To help prevent feeling dizzy always stand up slowly. When getting up from a laying position move into a sitting position first, sit for a couple of minutes before standing. Hopefully it won be too long before your blood volume catches up to your expande blood vesels

    Good luck Rose.twins are exciting...
My BP was normal throughout my pregnancy.I got to 36 weeks and my BP was high and I had pre eclampsia which is more common in a twin pregnancy than a singleton.
    Again good luck...

    Hi,

My BP is low too but I've been laying down for 11 weeks because I can't stand up!

Everyone (Ob incl) says there's nothing to be done about low BP but I've just started acupuncture - should have got it ages ago! The acupuncturist is working hard to fix it. It's not a question for him of "can he do it" but "when?".

If you have more troubles or get badly symptomatic - go find a good acupuncturist! I'm kicking myself that I left it till the end.
