    over doing it while pregnant

I know this may sound crazy but i was just wondering if theres seriously i mean proven that by over doing it while pregnant you can cause problems with the baby like pre term labour etc?I kind of think this cant be true because we are all so busy and what about in the old days when they had to do so much but im a bit worried because a few friends have said im over doing it and are worried,i have good pregnancies,my last one i worked right up till the end full time in the deli, this time im not working but looking have a 2 year old and a hubby thats well lets just say doesnt do much,we also are doing renos and things and im 22 weeks pregnant,i feel fine in myself just sometimes a bit tired so i sit but surely just doing normal things even though yes lately is alot is ok while pregnant?i feel i brealy get to sit down these days but who does with a toddler??but now people have worried me!!

people used to tell me that to, my theory was im pregnant not sick, i am healthy and had low risk pregnancies and part from morning sickness i was fine. Your body will tell you when you need to rest, ( and it is important that you do rest sometimes )we were renovating when i was pg with DD and it got to about 32ish weeks and i said to my DH that i just couldn't do as much to help anymore, especially lots of bending etc. you need to be careful of lifting and shouldn't be up and down ladders etc. but as long as you feel fine in yourself then keep going as you are.
I don't know about stats etc about activity or too much activity bringing on pre term labour maybe someone else can shed some light on that, but if you are normally, fit and quite active and your body is used to that kind of level of activity you should be fine.
Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and try and get some rest sometimes you don't need to be super woman

Not sure, I have a tendency for pre term labour. With dd1 I had bleeding and cramping from early on, I just had to be careful with bending and lifting. I was still working full time though. Dd arrived at 34 weeks when my waters broke unexpectedly. I was probably in labour all day just didn't realise.

With dd2 I had no bleeding and was fine until i got spd at about 22 weeks, that did force me to slow down and rest but I still went into labour at 35 weeks. I got to 37 with medication and rest.

With Ds I was the healthiest of all three, felt fine. I was probably running around a lot more having two toddlers to chase and take swimming. At 34+4 I went into labour again, I was in hospital then on bed rest and got to 39 +5.

So I have been taking it fairly easy, resting and running around and still gone into labour at about the same time each time so my ob said it seems to be when my body triggers labour.

People are saying the same things to me all the time!

It was only yesterday that i was out mowing the lawn, weeding and pruning though. I have also just painted the babies room (with respirator mask on ofcourse) so that involved a lot of climbing up and down the ladder. I have scrubbed all the inside walls top to bottom, done all the fans, scrubbed the outside of our house etc etc etc. And i have felt fine!

I have only put on 9kgs so maybe thats why im feeling so good and can still do everything. I believe that theres no reason to just become a couch potato because ur pregnant. Gosh how wld i get thru labour if i cant spend a couple hrs mowing the lawn???! One of the neighbours actually stopped and got quite angry at me when i was mowing and was asking why the men in my family arent doing it... so i had to explain that dh is working away and its OUR house and not my parents house so why shld my dad come over to do it when i am perfectly capable of doing it!

I found after a big day of gardening and cleaning last week my feet were absolutely killing me so that was my sign to take it a bit easy the next day. The main thing is to just listen to ur body.. if ur feeling tired REST! If ur feeling motivated and full of energy go for it!! Definitely dont do anything that will overheat ur body though, that can cause dramas.

Good luck with the rest of ur pregnancy!

I basically do what I normally do and just make sure I don't lift anything heavy or awkward and sit down if I'm feeling too tired/worn out. No climbing for me because my balance is awful without additional gravity shift I think basically as long as you aren't pushing yourself or running marathons then it's all good!
