Try not to get too obsessed. Thanks to PCOS and terrible eating habits (skipping meals) my BMI before falling pregnant was 41. Shocking! I was super worried about putting on weight during pregnancy and becoming the size of a house, but so far at 22 weeks I've only put on 1.5kg and it all seems to be baby. Even though my belly is growing, I've been told my face and other parts of my body look slimmer. It may sound strange but currently I'm at my heaviest and I've never felt more confident. I love my body for the first time ever. Sure I still have "fat" days where nothing looks good, but overall I feel great. The secret for me has been actually eating. All I do is eat, if I crave something I eat it cause I figure I must need it, and my metabolism is obviously starting to speed up.
Obviously being this weight isn't ideal and I've missed out on being in the MGP like I wanted, but I don't see the point stressing about it. I weigh myself every Friday (and only every Friday) so I can keep an eye on things since I don't want to put on too much, but so long as my weight is staying steady I'm not going to worry.
As far as clothes, I got a pair of loveable maternity pants which are AMAZING! They're just like yoga pants and are so comfy. I got another pair from an overseas store but I had such problems I'm hesitant to recommend them. Look around online, there's loads of plus size maternity stuff though some is a little pricey. Pumpkin Patch also seems to have some larger sizes.
I'm also about to start prenatal yoga and one of the ladies in my belly buddies group just got a pregnancy exercise DVD (pretty sure its called preggi belly) which is apparently really good so I'm going to get that too.
Stay positive ladies! Sure we may not be our 'ideal' weight, but our bodies are still doing something amazing
