I'm the opposite - we used our baby bath until DD was 2! It was on a stand and had a pipe to drain the water out so we could either recycle it onto the garden or use it to rinse the nappy bucket. It was easy to move around and the pipe made it very easy to empty. We also had a hose ont he tap so it was easy to fill.

DD was quite small so she was in 0000 for 8-10 weeks, however we had been told she would be average to big so hadn't bought much in 0000 at all. We got given loads of stuff and also it was easy to grab some extras once she was born so I wouldn't stress too much about not having enough prior to the birth, unless you really live in an extremely remote area.
