what baby things do i really need

Had a baby bath for both DD & DS, but didn't use it no where near as long for DS, he much preferred to be in the big bath so he could stretch out properly & also liked to interact with his big sister..
I had a bouncer for both of them & it was a total godsend, I got more then my moneys worth out of their bouncers, that's for sure
I ended up with such a overload of stuff for DD, that just recently when I pulled it all out, there is still price tags on quite abit, whereas with DS, I never ever brought unncessary things, cause I learnt first time round what I'd need & not need.. Though I think with your first, you just buy everything cause your so excited!

Oh yes & your can NEVER have too many bibs/sick rags
With DS I used cloth nappies as his sick rags, whereas DD was in cloths, so I used handtowels for her sicks..

Your sizes are different thatn we have here but for the first few weeks DS lived in newborn sleepers. I never even tried to put cute outfits on him (way to hard) I just got a few cute sleepers. He grew fast but he also spit up a lot and had a lot of diaper leaks so we needed quite a few so we didn;t have to do laundry every day.

Things we could not have lived without in the early days:
- Burp rags - DS was great at spitting up and even though I had 20 of them it never felt like I had enough
- Bouncy Chair - this was a godsend
- Baby swing - when DS wwas 2month the swing allowed me to have showers or get dinner cooked
- Car seat cover - it was winter when DS was born and the car seat cover allowed me to dress him him his sleepers but ensure he was always warm and covered

We had a baby tub but we only used it for about 6 weeks, then we just laid him down in the big tub with a small amount of water. When DS learned to stand we started using the tub again as it made it harder to stand, but after a few weeks he could climb out of that as well so we got a bath ring seat.

I used my baby bath til 6 months. Sure beat having to lean over a bath. If you have any back or shoulder problems you def need a baby bath.

My bub was short at birth so we used the 0000 for ages. Just depends on what size bub pops out I guess.

I wasted excessive amounts of $$$ on a change table, thinking it was a neccessity Don't bother with one!

I have to say a good sling (eg a Peanut Shell) that you can wear in different styles was the best money I spent. And a pram that is reversible and converts to a stroller will save you heaps in the long run.

My bubs was in 0000 for ages- about 8 weeks I think. I always recommend Bonds for baby clothes- they are comfy and wear well no matter how many times they are washed- but their sizing is smaller than other brands.

ha ha it is so easy to go overboard cause everything is so cute, but i think i have done well so far and have been quite sensible...
i'll look into a cpl more things but i think i've got a good idea now. thank you all...
