10 weeks and clicky sore hips

I've been getting clicky hips for the last few weeks... And yesterday went for a rather big walk but today feeling so sore and painful in the pelvis/hips right side inner thigh/groin area and lower back... I WAS going to see the GP but have to walk there so decided to wait til i was feeling a little better and peraps get hubbyto drive me tomorrow.

I googled and read that when prgnant you make a hormone relaxin and that it loosens up joints and ligaments etc but they also include info on SPD... Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if it goes away? What can I do to help it? And what are some measures I can take to avoid it in future?? I mean I now have 1 car to share with hubby so i have to walk more often and cant get around that so i dont want to be in pain after walking everytime... Its killing me...

You do sound like you are getting SPD. From my experience it will get worse (sorry) until baby engages, then the pain will ease a little. There are lots of things you can do to help. Avoiding long walks, especially if they involve hills or stairs, is a main one. Keeping your knees together when getting in and out of the car or bed also helps a lot. Ice makes a huge difference, and there are support belts you can get which make a difference to some women. A good chiropractor can also make a big difference. There are lots more tips in this thread here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-a-137611.html

I was the same with this pg. My hips and pelvis make way too much noise to be normal!! I'm thinking it's SPD, but I don't have a formal diagnosis. I am just trying to manage as I can. The further along I get the worse it is getting. The more I do too, makes it worse. Yesterday I mopped, vacced, walked to the shops (about a 30mins return trip), cleaned and tidyied the whole house and through the night I could barely move in bed, or get up off the lounge. It's sore today too. I really need to stop doing so much...

Thanks for the reply and for the tips Traveller- i'm thinking thats why i'm so sore like I can hardly move... In bed last night I was in agony... I walked a total of just over 9kilometers yesterday. Waited 35 mins for a bus which never showed so was forced to walk to pick up my kids

3.08kil in the morning and 6.17kil in the arvo. I'm really paying for it today... Checking out that thread now. Thanks

Lilias- I guess I'm just shocked to be in so much pain so early on... I mean i do tend to get clicky hips around that 30+ week mark but never anything like this and never so early on. I also did the vaccuming when i got home from the 1st trip and the bending to pick up kids toys etc doesnt help..lol

I guess a trip to the GP may be in order... I can take panadol right??? thats safe in pregnancy??

panadol is safe, but you will probably get more relief from icing just now. Try to rest today, hopefully the pain will ease by tomorrow.

I only got it with DD3, but oh my goodness, it was so painful! Once she started engaging though, it was soooooo good. Hopefully you get some relief soon.
