Talking of teeth, we have another one today. So that's 6 in total - 4 up top and 2 down bottom - so that's 3 teeth in 8 days, no wonder we have had a cranky pants on our hands. Please please please let that be a break for a little while and those canines I saw a couple of days ago have gone back into hiding... they can stay put for a bit.
Boc - DS likes to stand up too! He has since he was about three months old. Very strong legs and would thrust himself up. I asked my baby massage teacher and she said if I was worried to get him to straddle a thigh and then he can stand as much as he likes and bounce etc. She said to make sure if not doing that way to hold him under his arms and not by his hands. I think I remember her saying it is not likely to cause bow legs but I think she was more concerned with hips and ankles having too much weight put on them before they are strong enough. Now DS is older and stronger and can sit up I am no longer do the straddling a thigh thing but I still hold him by his armpits. We also put him in the jolly jumper which I know the jury is still out on as to whether they are good or not!
DS loves standing up still and we have a struggle when we go to put him on the floor to sit as he refuses to bend his knees to allow a sitting position! This happens with the highchair as well!! He would stand up all day if he could!
Just a quick one til I can get on for a proper chat. I think I may have the signs of mastitis (which I have been so paranoid about gettting and here it is). I've had absolutely no problems with feeding, soreness etc and have never had to do anything to prevent cracking or dryness, it's been a well oiled system but now I am feeling really tired, a bit sick and have shooting pains in my left breast. I'm off to search the other forums for answers but if anyone knows, could you let me know?
Do you have a lump or sore red spot? Shooting pains I'm not sure...

Murph I had it with C and It put me in bed for 3 days I couldnt move. I also had lots of plocked ducts with him. They are sore spots to touch and painful to feed. Whatever it is you should not stop feeding but seek medical advice. Hope all is well soon.

Just thought I would let you know that our FET was unsuccessful, or as the clinic put it "definatively negative", so we are going to do a back to back FET and go back to our good old day 3's, as this is what resulted in Tara. I'm ok with the BFN as having Tara makes everything better anyway.
We are going on holiday on Sunday for a week and then all systems go for FET #5.

Haven't had a chance to get onto BB for some time as we had a rotten week with Finn last week. All of a sudden my lovely sleepy baby turned into a non-sleeper. Turns out he may have reflux so he's now on Zantac for that. So far this week (touch wood, touch wood) he seems a bit better so am hoping it does the trick. From my years working in early childhood I always knew I could cope with lots of things, but babies who don't sleep is high on my list of things that send me crazy. Poor little guy, he really was unsettled and although this week he's sleeping better I still can't get him to fall asleep in the bassinet - he will only sleep in the car/pram/on my shoulder etc. Can anyone suggest any wonderful tricks and tips they may have used to get their baby to sleep in the cot???
Ah Lise, unfortunately it's pretty common. Keeping them upright as much as possible is the best thing for reflux (and pretty much all babies have it to some extent). It will pass with time. It's no wonder also that they prefer to be held when they're feeling uncomfortable.
Do you have a carrier - they've very handy for the day time when they happier to sleep in your arms.
Sleeping in a cot is an acquired taste - it takes time for some little ones and some never really get there. DS slept in a cot briefly, then we gave up after a couple of months of non-sleeping (we're slow learners) and he slept on a mattress on the floor, often with me. Anyway, at this age I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's very likely he'll settle down in the next month or so and figure it out on his own.
You may want to get a copy of the No Cry Sleep Solution - she has some useful advice on baby sleeping. And just rest whenever you can
What Marcellus said.... Also as you come up to the 6 week mark you will also start to notice some big changes as Finn will hit a "Wonder Week" when all of his senses start to hit him, especially sight. I think pretty much all of us mum's went through the horror bit around that time.

a big hello to all you girls i hope you are all well and all your little bubbas are also well all is good here in smithy land ,charlie and i are busy all day with our chooks and vegy patch lol.we have even made charlie a fairy garden and it looks awsom,i got some fairy lights and bought a heap of flowers and fairy statues and it looks great some colourfull windmills that she loves to look at.ill post a pic as soon as the flowers pick up a bit cause i got seedlings lol.she love to get her 2 eggs every morning and just loves to be out side shes so funny.

Thanks for your thoughts ladies, it's enough to bring tears to my eyes! Finn's reflux, feeding and sleeping are actually getting worse so we're at QEII which is a family centre for babies and toddlers. Am hoping they can help a bit because he's not putting any weight on and every feed is a struggle which ends with both oYep, see you both thenf us in tears - his from pain and mine because I feel so useless seeing him like that and not being able to do anything. Will let you know how we go xx
