hi spookie and welcome to the thead. lots of sticky vibes coming your way girl! and CONGRATULATIONS on your bub!!! our ivf clinic told us to just enjoy each moment and not to stress about what could be... i found that really helpful to just live in the mmoment. it only feels like a week or two ago i was posting at 4wks and really worried too... it's just natural i think especially after all you've been through.

yep saw the BG announcement .. it's titled is Gremlin's arrival or such if anyone is looking for it. and she chose such a gorgeous name! love it.

hey jen, how did your showing off at the wedding go? lots of cooing over you i hope.

bring it on Mum2Chloe for july!!! can't wait to see you here. and big hugs to you too Smithy...

hi neptuen, that sounds like braxton hicks to me. i know some girls who run and they say the same thing, i think exercise can cause it. did the pain stop when you finished swimming or soon after? not sure if i'm right but hope that helps. ps i've been hitting the pool too and am finding it a great reliever for my sore back.

hi mhb, and two mums - you just gotta do what's right for you. we're doing the test as our doc recommended it but we really just want to see our bubs again. althought i do have an almighty bruise on my arm from where they took th gallons on blood needed. it is very nasty and now turned a lovely purpley, yellow, green tinge. ugh.

our scan is on friday! dh has asked is FIL can come along (he's visiting from interstate with us for a week) but i'm not sure. i know it would be such a great thing for FIL but i feel a little weird about it. any opinions? am i just being hormonally selfish??? i think we'll decide the night before.. the invite hasn't been put out yet, it's only between dh and i... and he's not presurring me or anything, just asked and said it's my decision if i feel okay about it.

hi to everyone else, sorry don't have a lot of time today with visitors and such. Just got back from a night in sydney and am soooooo tired ;( but the in laws all loved my bump! lol. it even got a big kiss from SIL lol. so it's nice to have everyone so excited for us.

I'm with Kaydee. I said I'd be back later for personals but have just started a new job (hee hee, they don't know I'm preggas, but I won't be there long cos we are moving in few months ). Anyhoo...been feeling really tired with the physical side of work and bombed today and did nothing after only 6 hours.

I jsut wanted to say to Two Mums and to everyone really when you decide whether or not to have your nuchal screening. either way is a brave decision. I just wish we had actually known enough to make one. We weren't seeing an OB, just our FS and we weren't given the pep talk about why you should or shouldn't have the tests done. Like Grub, we just thought it would be cool to see our baby. I'd give anything to weigh it up and make an informed decision rather than the stress we have created by entering into these damn horse racing statistics. No you wouldn't back a horse at 88:1, but then again they sometimes do come home winners. So we have done the limbo thing and will continue to until we have answers now. I wish we had your OB Two Mums, I love his/her advice, but alas.

I'll let you know how we go tomorrow and give you news in a couple of days. (Nervous laugh), it sounds so fast when you say it like that, but we all know the wait of a few crucial days.

    Lotsa love,
    Murph

Hi to all my lovely mummies to be in here

Bug congrats to BG on the arrive of Emerald, I know she will be a much loved and adored bubba.

Just a quickie from me. Gave up work today, was suffering from too much stress and have had trouble eating and sleeping. Because of it DH & I decided it is not worth me staying working if it is going to have an impact on the baby.

So am now a lady of leisure until bubs arrives, if you can call housework leisure hehe....

Take care everyone and will catch up soon..

    Hi Girls

Today the scan went well. The baby has a nasal bone, two legs, two arms, normal brain and skull bones, good strong heart rate so we are very happy with knowing just that. I have a question tho...

The sonographer measured the baby at 12w2d when based on egg pick up and embryo transfer we should be 12w5d. So do we change our due date from the 9th December to the 12th December now???

    Hi girls

Twomums - i'm so pleased you had a good scan. congrats! at my 12 week scan my gestational age by date was 11wks 4 days, but the gestational age by size was 11wks 2 days, so that can happen. my ob kept using my due date as per the calendar - so we didn't change ours. Luckily too, because at the 19 wk scan their sizes and ages matched back up again!

Kelly - i'm glad you have beeen able to give up work if it was causing too much stress. Your bub is the most important thing. I'm on the serious countdown too. I'd love to finish up but can't quite afford to just yet, so another 8 or 9 weeks to go.

AFM, well, this back pain has been getting progressively worse, and I found out that it was the result of a heavy fall I had a few weeks ago at work. So I'm actually off for a week to start with now, which will give me the chance to rest it. So I'm a lady of leisure (and pain) for at least this week anyhow!

Have an ob appt today, and am going to ask about a date for my c -section. It will be good to have a date to work towards. I'm just so excited about this pregnancy, and can't wait to meet my little darling boys.

We think we've decided on names too!!! Our families are Scottish, and we have some long-standing family names we really want to use -to honour our parents and everything they've done for us - so it's Hamish Charles and Lachlan Edward. Not the most interesting or progressive names, I know, but we love them and they're very special to us. Now to figure out which one is which....!!!

Anyhow, must go - sitting hurts! But big love to all of you lovely mummies-to-be. Thanks so much for everything - all the support and encouragement. You're a lovely bunch

    Hello all,

Just droping by to say a quick hello to everyone...I've been reading but not finding time to post!

Congrats to everyone joining or who has had great scan results in the last few weeks - and wishing everyone with scans and results to come all the luck in the world! It is great to see so much going on in this thread!

No much to report here - been way too busy at work (stupid hrs - my DH actually had a word to my bosses boss 'cause he was so concerned at how stressed I was), but on the countdown now with only 5 wks to go . Finishing at 34wks which is a bit early (as people keep telling me), but I really think I'll struggle to keep going past that...so thats when I'll finish. Tex is moving around lots which is great, although I'm starting to fear that something will go wrong before he is born...fingers cross it is just irrational mother-to-be thoughts!

    Wishing everyone well.

    Hi everyone

Twomums: You will find that your dates will probably not match up everytime you have your scans. At our 18 week scan last week bubs was measuring almost a week bigger but the sonographer advised that depending on who does the scan and how cooperative the baby is sometimes you can get differing dates by almost 2 weeks. I have stuck to the first date given from our scan at 7 weeks which is what my ob is using as well.

Thanks for your encouraning words everyone about leaving work, the extra cash would have been good but I think that we are pretty lucky to be in a position where we can live off one wage. Not live the high life, but still be able to live a comfortable life. Although I must admit having all our big stuff for the baby bought for us certainly helps.

I was just trying to see who is next to be a mummy. All of our long timers have now left us. Is FG next and then Kaydee.... I makes it seem so close for me as I think I've moved up the ladder position a few places now .

    Hi girls,

Yes I am next to go... have been lurking about but with so many things going on, as soon as I intend to write the issue has passed and I have missed the boat in putting in my 2 cents worth of input.

Yay, 35 weeks. I am finishing off at work this week and can't wait. We have so much drama at work. A work mate has been laid off which has really affected me.

Anyhow, I am so very glad that you all are doing well.

Sorry gotta run (hopefully I might be able to log in more often when I am at home and rested).

    Take care

Kahlan, enjoy your last week at work. Not long to go before you meet your precious bundle!

FG, great to hear from you. Was wondering how you were getting on. I stopped work with DD at 34 weeks and was grateful to finish up! I think it really depends on the type of work you do as to how long you can keep working. It sounds like you're doing really long days so I'm counting down the last 5 weeks of work for you. Bring on some rest time!

Kelly, enjoy your time at home to rest. If you can afford to live off one wage, that's awesome for you and the baby. Not worth risking your bub for stress at work.

Jen, are you having a c-section electively or because it was recommended because you are having twins? Will be good to have a date to work towards regardless. Hope your back is getting better and the week off work is doing it good. My back has started to play up when I'm sleeping. Rolling over is a mammoth effort and usually includes a pinch in the nerves at the bottom of my spine. Poor DH, when I need to roll over, he ends up awake too!

Two Mums, glad your 12 week scan went well. Time to relax and enjoy your pregnancy now.

Murph, thinking of you! Hope you're doing ok.

Grub, GL for your scan on Friday. My MIL came along to our 18 week scan. DH asked because he knew how much it would mean to her to be invited along and feel a bit more involved in the pregnancy. I must admit it felt weird having her in the room but she couldn't stop talking about it for the next couple of hours so I know it really did mean alot to her to be able to come along.

Hi Smithy, JBM and Possums. Thanks for popping in! Best of luck for your next steps.

Hi to all the other pregnant ladies in here at the moment. Hope you're all going well.

AFM, I finished up at work last Friday so now the waiting begins! We're fairly set up here at home already but there's always more little bits and pieces to fiddle with. As mentioned earlier, back is starting to give a bit of grief at night but other than that still feeling good. My fingers and toes are crossed these little ones sit tight for quite a few more weeks baking! Haven't packed hospital bags yet so I'm denying that there's a possiblity things will happen early... Have GD test this Friday. Can't wait for the sickly sweet drink early in the morning after no breakfast, Mmm...

    Better go, eyelids getting droopy...

    Hi everyone

Thought I would drop in today as DH and I are off tomorrow afternoon for a long weekend away. DH took the extra day off work so we could make it a 4 day break. Thought it was a good opportunity as it is the last long weekend we will every have on our own again.

We have our hospital booking tomorrow morning to get all sorted out and to see the rooms, nursery, birthing suite etc. I think we will also get booked into our "breathing" classes as well. Looking forward to the visit as the hospital we are going to has just undergone major renovations and they have built new wards so will be great to see everything all shiny and new.

As I've got all this extra time on my hands I've also booked to go and visit my sister in Perth for a week at the end of this month. She is not coming over to Melbourne until Melbourne Cup weekend (1 week after bubs is due to arrive) so I thought it would be nice to have a break with her as well.

Really gotta love this not working though.. Don't have to stress and do all my housework and washing on the weekends, I can take my time and do them gradually during the week. Oh and DH bought me a spa voucher at Xmas which I haven't had time to use yet so I'm also going to book in for a couple of treatments now as well. Luckily the day spa I use also specialises in pregnancy massages, so will be nice to have the chance for some realxing time as well.

Sorry the post is all about me, hope you are all doing well. It is good to see that everyone is reaching the important milestones now. I know it feels like forever for the first 12 weeks to pass but I just can't believe that as of tomorrow I will be half way through the journey.
