    Hi everyone,
Thanks Dusty for your help. The list looks great! Team effort hey?

BG I have started research on cloth nappies but the Pea Pod was at they had at my nearest baby shop and I was a bit desperate for that tangible thing. I also needed something from a world vision shop, in keeping with my kind of toys, as a baby's first present but we have none up here so had to ask my Dad and of course he said I was weird. Anyway he went and bought something for me and loved the shop so is a total convert! Yay. I haven't quite got my degree in cloth nappies but we'll keep working through those sites. DH is really keen to start collecting weekly like you suggested so it's kind of fun.

AFM Ihave well and truly stopped referring to the emby as Little Chicken, it is a Tapeworm. DH isn't real keen on that name sticking but it's how it makes me feel constantly sooooooo hungry and has to be just the right thing or I'm sick. I'm using every trick in the book, including getting up at all odd hours and just feeding him/her. I tell DH that next time is his turn like it's a real feeding time, lol!

    Hi All,

I'm still here living in hospital and still on bedrest but able to go to the toilet and shower and wander round my room to the fridge for some yummy's!!

I check up on you all a couple of times a day and am closely following where everyone is at and what is happening. I'm just finding it hard to post and verbalise how I am feeling.

Today is another big milestone for us..30 weeks. It's truly amazing that we have come this far after going into labour at 21 weeks, 2 days. Have 2 more scary episodes of contractions since then but these 2 little ones are strong little fighters and keep on plodding along in my tummy.

Have been here now since Feb 21st.. 2 months and 3 days. It feels like I have always been here in hospital but on the other hand I am really not bored..just focusing on my job right now of protecting these 2.

While I want these 2 to stay inside me for another 6 weeks, our paedatrician has said if they arrive from now on they'll be fine. So while I'm scared I'll go into labour soon, I have faith in the fact that there will be some amazing people looking after our babies when they do arrive and in the fact that babies do amazingly well after 30 weeks.

Our last scan measured our little son at 1459 grams and our little daughter at 1331 grams. Ob seems very happy with their sizes.

I on the other hand am getting HUGE!! Have lots of stretch marks on my right hand side but none anywhere else. Am finding it very hard to sleep at night and wee all night long but these are all good signs our little ones are growing big and strong...so bring it on I say!

OB still trying to get me to 36 weeks but the nurses and I agree that will be highly unlikely. I think maybe another 3 weeks. I would love to make 36 weeks for the babies sakes but I am really struggling right now with how my body is feeling and coping. At 34 weeks I can have the babies here and don't have to get rushed to Brisbane in an ambulance, so I am really aiming for 34 weeks at this stage.

I hope you are all enjoying your little blesssings that are growing inside you and are enjoying your special time with your little ones in your tummy.

As the lovely Dusty said, she came for a visit last week. Was so nice to meet her finally. She is just as gorgeous in person as she is in cyber world. I am so thankful to this site for all the amazing people I have met who have now become my friends and who are offering me amazing support while I'm on this journey.

Take good care everyone and thanks for all your support as always.

    Hugs Bel and babies

BIG CHEERS FOR BEL FOR HITTING 30 WEEKS
You are amazing to have lasted this long after your first scare at 21 weeks, you are going to be such an amazing mum after all that has happened and just keep thinking to yourself another day in hospital only brings you another day closer to meeting your two blessing.

Bel - a warm congratulations to you for making it to 30+ weeks. You are truly inspiring. When I think of how much time has passed since 21 Feb, and that you have been in hospital all that time, I am just amazed. You'll be an incredible mother when your 2 are eventually allowed to come into the world - as shown by your unbeliveable strength and commitment to get them this far.
Again, well done - things are only looking up from here

    Good afternoon girls,

Bel - how fantastic that you've made it to 30 weeks You've been in hospital for such a long time. I hope your little ones can hold off from arriving until another few weeks. Glad they are at a good size now. Thanks for the update. Am thinking of you.

21 - As Murph said, you need to try and relax. All this stress isnt doing you or the baby any good. Take care of yourself.

Murph - it is good to be heading to 10 weeks. 12 weeks will be better Im looking forward to seeing our babies heartbeat again at my 1st OB appointment on the 27th. Its still all so surreal. I think when I see the baby on the ultrasound again and hear the heartbeat it will sink in some more I too want to buy something small but keep thinking I dont want to jinx myself.

Grub - hope your dizziness and headache has gotten better. Ive been getting alot of bad headaches, not good. How exciting having your scan next week!

Twomums - wow 7 weeks already, thats GREAT Hope Kim is feeling well.

Nixon - I like your baby name idea! My DP and I have been tossing around some names. Its not an easy decision so I dont envy you. Your so close now, take care.

Nicole, Mels, BG, Dusty and everyone else.

AFM, not much to report. Hanging out for my OB appointment on Monday. And looking forward to having a sleep in on the weekend!!!! Am so tired. Other than that, am feeling well.

    Take care,

    Tania

a question for you to ponder, what do you do when you have to tell someone you are pregnant, but you know they don't want to hear it? I live in a very small community (well a road in the forest) where we all know and like each other, except two of us are doing IVF and the other lady is not coping hearing about others who are pregnant. It was so hard, she sat at my house when I was 8 weeks pregnant, with my gorgeous 4 POAS posing on the cabinet (still) (she didn't see thankfully)and told us how she couldn't face her best friend when she heard on the grapevine she was pg. she was literally avoiding talking to her, telling her husband to tell her she was out if she called. And here she was talking to me and not suspecting for a moment that we could be pregnant. my DH had never considered that reaction could exist in anyone and would never have thought not to mention it but he quickly decided we don't tell her until we absolutely can't avoid it.

I hate not telling her, I want to be open and happy and I feel a bit resentful. I have some neighbours who knew from day one and are so stoked and urging me along, and one I have to lie to. My idea was to write a gentle note and give her time to talk if and when she wants. we don't have to see each other much, just neighbourly, but my sister thinks that's weak and advises just not telling her until she notices...hmmm, tough choice, there must be a better answer???????? Chocolate frog to the person with the best answer

hey murph, that is a tough one. but i think just letting her figure it out would be pretty insensitive given you are obviously concerned about the lady.
at the end of the day,she is the one with the issue about it. don't let it become your problem and i completely understand the resnentful comment. i'm sure we all understand where she's coming from as well.

i like the note idea. it's not like you are best buddies. i'd write the note and tell her you understand it's difficult for her and you are there if she needs to talk. she might not react like she did to her friend's announcement as she knows what you've been through. maybe it might instead give her hope and joy for you... don't underestimate her just yet me thinks.

let us know what you do and how it turns out... good luck hon.

thanks BG - question though what's mpm and where is that (i know, idiot). and what does mcn stand for in the nappy discussions. i tried to find it in the abbreviation help but couldn'. yeah, i was going to go to a big shop and scope out all the stuff we want/need with prices then look for deals on line and elsewhere. i'm hanging out to start buying stuff....

bel - i only know of your journey from what i picked up in your post but BIG congrats for yoru courage and strength. that's an awfully long time to be stuck in hosp, i really admire you and hope you make your 34wks. ox

thankx miss magpie - yep, had a lay down this arvo (still in bed ) and feel better. really went down hill at work though with bit of a temp, shakiness, lots of dizziness and just feeling really off color. had to come home, again. one day i'll make it 8 hrs... just not sure when that'll be.

hi to anyone else i've missed.

You girls are the best. Thanks so much for your cheers and support. Your posts have bought tears to my eyes...

Murph- Gee that's a tough one. I too would probably write a nice card to her so you actually get to tell her before she finds out another way. I know she says she doesn't want to know about people who are pg, but it might hurt her more if the news doesn't come directly from you. Maybe you could write something like..

"You are such a dear friend to me and I really value your friendship, so I wanted to tell you myself before you found out, that we are expecting a baby. I understand this is going to be very hard for you and understand that you might need to distance yourself from me. But I am always here when you need a friend or when you feel able to spend time with me and I would love to offer you support on your journey"

Whatever you decide to do will be the right thing for you and DH in your situation, but I always feel honesty is best. Hope you figure it out xxx

Bel- I am so happy with how far you have come....and I want to tell you again how much I admire your strength, courage and positive attitude and the graceful way you have handled being in hospital for so long on top of your already difficult journey. Yay for you and your prince and princess! You are an inspiration and so deserve your two little miracles who will just get the best mummy!

I heard a very sad story today about a distant friend of mine...she just gave birth to stillborn twins at 24 weeks on a plane on an international flight! I cannot imagine the pain she must be feeling, or how traumatic that would have been on the plane.

Murph- I too think a quick phone call would be good. And make it really clear in the call that you know it will be hard for her to hear, and you are conscious of that and simply wanted her not to hear on the grapevine as that would be even harder. I think that from where I am currentlysitting....which is in a place where I find it hard to hear friends are pregnant, simply because although I am glad for them, it really hurts me.... I would have to say that people acknowledging that it might be difficult for me would make it easier....it would show me they are sensitive and understand and make it easier for me to then try and be with them, and support them, if that makes sense.

sending all of you the very best. So many of you are so close now.

I do keep reading to see how you are all traveling

    Hi girls,

    Hope your doing well

Just a quick question. Is is safe to eat pizza during pregnancy? Not home-made ones, but from the pizza shop. Im mostly concerned with the ham aspect. All their ingredients just sit their unrefrigerated so the risk of listeria/bacteria would be high I thought. I ordered a VERY basic one the other week with just fresh tomato, mushrooms and herbs but Im off to a friends place tomorrow to watch the big ANZAC day footy clash and they are ordering pizzas in to eat. I LOVE ham and meat in general and my all time FAVOURITE pizza is meat lovers However I dont want to eat anything thats going to risk my babies health in any way.

Any advice would be great. Thanks girls

Tania- I would just order a vegetarian or a margharita pizza if in that situation. I've eaten both these types of pizza since being pg. My advice would just be to stay clear of the meat. Hope that helps xx

Hey Nic, only 8 sleeps to go...woo hoo
    Have you finished bubs room?
As for being home, I love it!!
I tend to have mini missions on some days and then have a couple of days home.
Like today OB and Hair cut then spend tomorrow at home.
Don't rely on day time tv...it really is hopeless

Tania, as Bel said stay clear of meat pizzas...but to be honest I think I really didn't notice too much on the meat side of pizza as it is very small amount on each slice.
At the end of the day do what you are comfortable with.

AFM, saw OB today and bubs is still head down bum up so let's hope we stay there.
Baby Shower this Sunday which should be lots of fun, sort of weird going to your own baby shower when you always tend to go to everyone else's.

    Have a great weekend all.

Thanks for the advice Bel & Nicole

Nicole - enjoy every minute of your baby shower on Sunday Hope you get some nice things.

Murph - hope all goes well with telling your neighbour your news. I initially thought the note was a good idea but when NIxon mentioned the whole part about reading it over and over again, I think a phone call is a lot better idea. Good luck

KellyD - glad all went well with your test and that your a low risk. Hope your feeling less stressed today. Take care.

Possums - sorry to hear that your friend lost her twins. What a tragedy And happening on a plane too, how awful. Hope your travelling ok.

AFM, Im off to the Maternity Unit open day on Sunday at South Eastern Hospital. My DP's sister had her 2 kids there and both her and my DP were born there so it comes highly recommended. Plus my OB works out of there too.

to everyone else. Hope you have a good weekend

    Take care,

    Tania
