Wantbaby I am so so so happy for you

Boc I think a list is a great idea. I'm thinking the same thing. Although do I tell all my staff or just my manager? so many questions. I agrea with the eligibility test too. especially when we all ar LTTTC. I know we all get cranky and loose our cool but there is a difference isn't there?

Saph my ob said because I'm still working and walking too much they are way worse than they should be. So in her not so subltle way she said I need to stop work SOON. Glad you have a date for your bubba that must make you relax heaps. I wish I knew.

Paula well done on two bubbas.

ATM well as said before my ob is hinting with a hammer that I need to stop work and sit on the couch. I almost cried ladies. I have been thinking this for a month now but with limited paid leave I really wanted to be home with bubs more than home on my own. I know both are important and I do have enough sick leave but it's a hard choice to make. Sometime I feel like dr's underestemate our thinking and worring and just comeup with this "bright idea". She also said that my tummy pain is due to walking around too much and my blood pressure is now 135/80 which is climbing. My ancles are swolen today too, although I still have them which is good.

So next week I'm at work for 3 days and I know I can't back out of them, my plan for the following week was going in for 4 hour in the morning but now I"m worried even that will be too much. I don't want to put my baby at risk. this is so hard. I'm thinking that if my bp doesn't rise next week I'll keep to the 4 hours a day plan and if it does. I'm on sick leave.

I hope everyone has a great new years. I really do feel 2010 is going to be a spendid year.

Yes, Happy New Year to you all. I suspect this will be my least exciting ever. Although the friends that are coming over are deeply excited about the fact that I've offered to drive them home.... but I am looking forward to my one glass of shiraz! I really kind of hoped I'd go off alcohol like some women seem to, but no. Dammit.

Paula - that's wonderful news, congratulations. I'm secretly jealous, but don't tell my DH

On the subject of DHs, it does seem we all have the same make and model. His reaction to our conversation re: spectators and time at home alone, was "well it doesn't really matter does it." Well YES actually! You won't be the one with either your primary or secondary sexual organs on show for your in-laws. Oh dear. I love the idea of getting mothers to tell them, I might try that..... thanks for the tip!

Want baby - so pleased to hear about your scan. It's wonderful isn't it. I'm looking forward to mine on Monday, I am getting nervous already. It's that wierd, I mean what does being nervous achieve??! Anyway, hopefully it will go well.

AFM - I am totally over this heatwave in Melbourne. I haven't really left the house in two days, when I did, I gave myself heatstroke (don't say it, stupid stupid woman) and have spent 24 hours in a darkened room sipping lemon squash. But feeling a little better now. I hope you all have a nice evening xx ps the maxi dress sounds lovely have fun

Baby Dreamtime, Janie, Nicole, BOC, lilmisshavachat, Greenslw and LondonMiss thank you thank you thank you all for the well wishes. We are still both pinching ourselves and always referring back to the scan photos to make sure we arent dreaming this. I am so happy and am accepting the idea of the twins more and more each hour.. Haha. Definately a great way to start of the new year

Greenslw i hear you on wanting to be home with bub instead of alone but as you said, you have to do whats best for both you and bub so listen to your body and hopefully it will help you make your decision.

LondonMiss i too am the designated driver tonight. I rarely drink anyway so am glad to take on the role now more than ever. Not long till your scan on Monday. I think everyone is always nervous just before but it will be so wonderful to see your bub up on the screen.

Well i hope everyone has a wonderful new year, 2010 is going to be big for ALL of us!! Yay!

Green - I completely understand you situation. It was just timing for us. I am school holidays and dont actually start my leave until the week bubba is coming. I took my leave at half pay which means I am getting paid until oct. Feeling extremely blessed by this. I have found my contractions have eased since I finished work, but not completely gone. It's a personal choice, but your body is working very hard and it trying to prepare for a very large trauma. Try and get some rest. I have left Campbell in daycare for 2 days a week just so I can rest.

Hope everyone has a lovely new years, I personally have a bad cough so am off to bed soon after Campbell.

Firstly Paula that is absolutely brilliant news!!!!

A bit exhausted so I will leave the rest of the persies till later but thought I should update you.

Just got back from hospital. Last night I had what I thought was my mucus plug 'bloody' show and DH and I got all excited thinking perhaps the baby might come in a week or a few days. Anyway the bleeding didn't stop and then didn't stop!!! I called the hospital and they said bring all my bags and come in. We of course thought this is it. Anyway get there and the bleeding was still going on but there were no labour signs at all. He has gone back to only 1/5 engaged (was 2/5 last week!!!) and I was only having sort of period cramps not contractions.
TMI to follow!!! So anyway it turns out it was a cervical ectropion. At least I excited the midwife who almost got spattered by it when she was examining me!!! LOL! She said she had never seen such a perfect one! I aim to please!!
So they kept me in overnight to monitor the bleeding but I am home now and hopefully next time it will be labour! I am pleased a bit though because I wanted the baby to be born in 2010 not 2009!!!

BTW Happy New Year!!! Come on 2010 bubs!!!! It is your time now!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Harry Highpants! doing anything spesh???

poppy - oh that sounds awfully dramatic love. must have been pretty disappointing to find out it wasn't labour... but it'll happen soon enough me thinks. Yes, that is coming from the woman who couldn't even handle being 4 days over! lol. oh the hindsight!

Paula - that is just fabulous news love!!! congrats to you and DH!

BOC - hope he comes to his senses. Men have some very strange ideas but remember, they are scared of us

Murph - i'm in awe of that multi tasking. I still sit rigidly still while feeding Ash for fear of screwing it up lol. soon i'll be doing the macarena, the dishes,, cleaning the toilet and feeding all at once

greenslw - i hope it works out for you with the work situation. get some rest and just take each day as it comes, you can't do much more than that lovely. do take care of yourself and take a break when you need it - no point trying to be a hero... you are, after all, a very preggy lady! rest and slackness is mandatory!

saph - the fourth of the second.. what a nice round number for a birthday! hope you enjoy this last little while before bub arrives and good on you for standing firm regarding what YOU want with visitors at the hospy.

hi lillmiss, want a baby, LM and all the girlies here.

ash is stirring but all is well here. finally BF full time now.. so glad to be off the expresser! He was sooo good for new year's, he even woke up for a feed 10 mins before midnight so i could watch the fireworks on the tele! DH opted for sleep lol.

finding i'm handling the ''baby hours'' quite well and DH and I took the running pram for a spin today.. but just a gentle walk.

Girls - just want to lecture you all to make sure you do those pelvic floor exercises particularly if you have a bad back. The first few days post birth, I felt extremely weak and unstable in my belly and lower back. I had been doing my pelvic floor exercises through pregnancy and picked them up asap post birth so feel quite well now.. but i couldn't imagine how bad it would get if i hadn't. iykwim??

oh joy, a pooey nappy awaits by the smell of my little boy. falling a little more in love each day... hope to get on and write my birth story soon...

keep well girsl and belly rubs all round

Happy Birthday Harry! Hope you have an awesome day and get spoiled rotten!!!

soon i'll be doing the macarena, the dishes,, cleaning the toilet and feeding all at once
Murph you crack me up! Hope all is good with you & little Mr Stinky LOL

Just wanted to pop on & wish everyone a Happy New Year!

And to finish off, have a good news story to share. A friend of mine has had two very complicated pregs. Severe all-pregnancy-long MS with both bubs. First bub arrived at 36 weeks. This time around she was told she'd be lucky to make 34 weeks this time aorund. Again the severe MS and many other complications, including nearly miscarrying twice & several episodes of premature labour meant that she has been in and out of hospy the whole preg. Well very happy to say after all that she made her due date (yesterday) and gave birth to a healthy baby girl this morning around 1am! What a happy new year for her! It kind of gives you faith doesn't it?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend peoples!
