    Hi ladies

Sorry I have been MIA - now am trying to quickly catch up on you all.

Bel - what wonderful news - one of each - how blessed you are!

TL - how exciting to have an actual date. For the control freaks (I'm one of them) that would make planning so much easier... I am no good at waiting at all! I guess this is another thing that motherhood will teach me!

Janie - how exciting to be on the countdown to maternity leave! It just seems like forever away for me!

Nic - hope your itching settles down - ouch!

Nixon - wow! Down to double digits - what a great milestone! Hope your doing well!

BG, FG and all the other Vic ladies - hope you escaped unscathed from the bushfires - how devastating - I haven't been able to watch the news for days now as I end up in a ball of tears - not good for already emotional pg people!

AFM - we got our 12wk test results back. Not good or bad just 'grey' as my OB put it. So based on my age, unfortunately we're having an amnio on 23rd. I am very scared in my heart but my head says we need to do this. Which means I have only 6 more days at work, then have the amnio followed by lots of bedrest. At the end of that week we fly to Melbourne for our wedding and then off to Malaysia via HK for our honeymoon. Having the amnio at that time means we will likely be a bit distracted from the wedding/honeymoon but DF is so super positive that there will be no problems I am hoping he can keep my spirits up. At least we will know the sex before the 20wk scan! Anyway, am feeling less pg these last few days. Not needing to eat constantly to stop from throwing up and sore BBs have settled down. I hope everything is ok!

    and to everyone I've missed.

    xx

PS Gizmo measured 13wks 1 days at 12wks - yikes!

Hey Chez - Good luck with the Amnio. I hope it all turns out as you wish. Don't worry about the eating thing. I don't eat half as much as I did in the first tri and there are mornings when I wake up and don't feel pregnant. If I am comfortable enough and baby is not awake yet I can lie there and think I would honestly believe it was all a dream.....until I try and roll over...then I have to actually sit up first, turn on my side and then lie down again.

To everyone else, sorry no personals for ages. I've been so caught up in work and the house reno that I just can find the time or energy to type (plus I work at a computer all day and the thought of it at night just kills me). But I am reading everyday and wishing the best to anyone who lives in or near the bushfire zones or knows people who do.

My DH is off to Japan tomorrow for 2 weeks snowboarding. His last free pass. I'm glad he is going. I know he is so excited, but so torn about leaving us. He has been so good and kind and understanding ever since the IVF started and I'm glad I can give him this as a thank you.

Take care girls and big belly rubs

Nixon hope you don't miss DH too much

for everyone else I have bad pg brain today I think

AFM: My boss is finishing me up 2 weeks earlier than expected which is a bummber beacuse the extra $$$ would have been nice. I feel a bit pushed out but hey what can you do. Hopefully I can fill a few more roles over the next 2 weeks and line up some great commissions before I leave Charlotte has the nic name of Missy Moo which I am not sure DH is keen on. Well in 7 weeks my girl will be here and I hopefully will be coming home today or tommorrow on the countdown now

Nixon - hope you're not too lonely without DH

Tigger - 7 weeks is not long at all....so exciting!

Welcome and a huge Congrats Neptune!!

don't fret about personals too much - i think we're all a little overwhelmed about the number of people in here (which is fantastic!) and the journey we're on. i tend to read and just comment if i can answer a question for someone.

    Hello all,
Finally able to find some time to drop in and actually type something!

Welcome neptune . Not sure if this helps, but I tend to think of BB as one of my best friends, the ones that you can not speak to for 6 months, then ring out of the blue and chat like you saw them for coffee yesterday...my friends and I call them 'no guilt' friendships. Its taken me a while but now I have a 'no guilt' friendship with BB - personals when I can, but like everyone else who is busy, I now no longer feel guilty when I cant, or dont do them

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes during the fires - that is part of the reason for being MIA - not that we were burnt. Fires started about 4km from where we live, about 2km from our farm. FIL was out on the tankers (MIL in Melb) and so DH and I were looking after two houses. A couple of times the heat go to me when I was outside all dressed up in protective clothing, and I was coming inside, striping off and putting on a wet sarong -- not pretty! Anyway were were very lucky and fire stayed away from us, but it was a stressful weekend with little sleep had. DH is now working fire recovery which is very stressful - helping assess how much fenching, housing, stock etc has been lost or needs to be destroyed, and helping find feed for stock etc. With that and work, I have been exahusted and only just getting back to normal today. I hope that everyone else is ok.

Not much to report here - had 12 week scan on Monday, which was at 13wks really. All was fine and Tex measured right on 13wks - this is going to be one baby that only ever gets 50% on tests as he never under or over ahieves in terms of growth rate!

We told all the family after the scan, and the remaining friends who I had not told under strick instructions of secrecy or who had not guessed - so it is now out in the open, which is nice -kind of makes it more real but I still keep thinking that someone is going to challenge me that I'm really not pg (apart from my growing belly) - DH has to keep reminding me that we have the pictures to prove we are having a baby

Mels - good luck with the upcoming scan
TL - how exciting to know the date that your little princess will come into the world!
Bels - congrats on your little prince and princess!
21 - glad to see that you are still hanging in there - come on 12 weeks!
Chez - I'm sure that all will be fine with the amino - good luck
Possums - you do belong in this thread - you will be here soon for a prelonged 9month stay - take care

To everyone else and goodbye, stay H&H

AFM - started to feel baby move about 10 days ago. What a feeling, truely defies description! It has been a bit sporadic but seems to be starting to be a bit more consistent in what I can feel, makes me smile every time.

    Take care everyone,
    LNB

    Melbourne ladies....

Any advice on where to go for nursery furniture, prams, car seats etc? We have started shopping but have found such a wide variety in prices that I'm not sure where the best place to go is.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Thanks,
    LNB

    Hey ladies

FG, wow sounds like things got a little too close for you and am glad to hear you guys are all alright. Congrats on your 13 week scan!!
    BTW love the new Avi

LNB, it is truly a great feeling when you finally do feel that little one.
June Bug started at around 20 weeks and the kicks have been getting stronger for the past couple of weeks.

AFM, had a very active baby yesterday afternoon and last night, but I think someone must be catching a few today, but am sure after a yummy roast someone will get busy again.
Anyway speaking of roast betta put in the oven.

    Hi All!

LNB - I went to Baby Bunting in Oakleigh. They offer 3 month layby and also will negotiate discounts with you once you spend over $500. You also get a VIP card for future purchases that offers a 5% discount. That is where we bought all our stuff and we saved quite a bit of money. Great that you have started to feel movement.

Nicole - great to hear bubs is so active. Mine still has up and down times... I guess they start having almost a sleep pattern.

FG - so happy to hear that you are okay.

Neptune - huge congratulations and welcome!

Chez - GL with the amnio - I am sure all will be okay.

Hi to 21, Alloy, TL, BG, Mels, Nixon and everyone else I have missed.

AFM - had 34 week scan and check up today. All is perfect... measuring within 1 day of due date. Estimated weight at the moment is 2.222kg or 4lb 14oz. OB estimates that weight at birth will be around 7lb 4oz which is very average - not too small not too large. HB is perfect which he estimated at 174bpm (not sure if that points to a boy or a girl - perhaps someone knows), but then when I looked at the screen again it was varying from around 137bpm - so I am a little confused. Blood flow to the umbilical cord is perfect and there is a good amount of amniotic fluid. So all in all it points to a healthy baby. Have booked in now for all the rest of my OB appointments. Next one is 36 weeks (2 weeks time) and then I am on weekly appointments after that. So really on the home straight now!

    Hope all are well.

old wives tale says 150 or over is a girl, under is a boy. mine fluctuates between 145-155 most of the time and is a pink one. when she's sleeping, it drops to maybe early 130's. old wives tales SUCK at giving you any idea about anything lol
