Welcome, Miss C, I'm glad you have finally joined us. I can completely understand the delayed reactions... I'm still in a weird state where I don't like to talk about my pregnancy with those who don't understand what it has been like for us. The people who supported us along the way are fine - they know what the miscarriages and the hyperstimulation has done to me... But with family being less than supportive and being totally cut out of the loop regarding IVF treatment - I now have a MIL who wants to do nothing more than chat about the pregnancy with me. She doesn't know that my second stim cycle put me in hospital for a week and stopped me working for a month. She doesn't know about the other two miscarriages. She certainly has no understanding of the emotional impact of those things on me and can't understand why I'm not out buying baby things already (hell, I've only just started to be able to buy maternity clothes!) and why I'm not all that comfortable talking about the baby - certainly not at any stage beyond the next milestone... scans, OB appointments, trimesters... I really can't think beyond the next step, and it makes it hard when people don't get why I'm like that and keep trying to talk to me as a normal pregnant woman!
Sorry for the epic there... strange emotional responses to pregnancy are completely normal after going through so much to get here.
Also getting worried about Nic... did she not arrange for someone to post a birth announcement?
