Red face Hello everyone I am new

    Hi Guys

I am new so hoping you won't mind if I join in on this thread.
I have just completed my first IVF cycle, and have had a positive pregnancy test. Am officially 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. Although excited I feel so nervous about getting through first trimester - I don't feel pregnant at all and tend to be pessimistic so presuming the worst. My first scan is two weeks today - seems like such a long time to wait! I think I am driving myself crazy - every little tingle, pain, etc I automatically think I am going to miscarry!

One possible sign I have of pregnancy is the ability to burst into tears at any moment. This morning I started crying when the played...wait for it.... the Rainbow connection by Kermit the Frog! on radio - now that cannot be normal can it. My partner didn't know what to think. tee hee

Anyway wishing you all the very best on your journeys.

    Cheers

Hi there Tiggerlinda- thanks for the reply. Nice to be on a forum like this where can chat to others - not telling any family/friends yet so nice to vent somewhere anonymously

    Welcome, babymiracles.

Just want to let people know that I'm still here and still reading but I really don't have the head space to reply properly at the moment. Things just don't seem to be getting better here... I'm sick of red meat, I'm sick of taking so many tablets for apparently little to no effect! I took yesterday off work sick and I'm feeling a little better... but still far from bouncing and overflowing with energy. Work is being wonderful and looking for ways to reduce my load (and a lovely colleague has cooked us some meals that are in the freezer here at work waiting for me to take home) until we get to next term when things get a whole lot easier. Until then, it's strategic use of sick days and relying on the wonderful people I work with and my wonderful DH to get me through. Only 4 and a half more weeks...

For now, thinking of everyone, just finding it hard to find coherent words...

BW - I'm sorry to hear that things are still tough for you right now. That little parasite is clearly sapping everything that you have to give, leaving nothing for mummy. I really hope you can get some relief with this iron situation soon. Have you tried Spatone? Liquid iron supplement, supposed to be more readily absorbed than tablets. Recommended to me by my midwives. I'm sure you've explored all the options now though. I hope you feel better soon, nice to hear you've got some lovely people looking out for you at work.

Geez, I am so, so very tired today. And totally over work - I really just don't care anymore. I feel like I just need to sit somewhere quiet and get my head around this pregnancy thing. It's such a fascinating, weird and utterly overwhelming experience!

I hope everyone's doing well today, all 'round!

    Hi All
BW hope you are feeling a bit better
Devon - I understand the tiredness - even before getting pregnant I seem to need so much more sleep than the average person - hate to think what I will be like as the pregnancy progresses - might not ever make it out of bed!

I am doing okay although been feeling pretty down. Just still cannot believe I am pregnant and no symptoms what so ever. Had nightmares last couple of nights about things going wrong. Cannot wait till the 7 week scan to see if things are okay - time is dragging.....

    Wishing everyone a peaceful day
