tsk tsk Mel, that photo makes him look like he has a starwars head LOL!!
I brought myself a new whizzbang digital camera (you know the ones, that somehow put the pics on the comp!!) Once I have worked out the basics, I will get another pic of my boy. (Without the starwars head!)
Wow, things have really been humming along here! I don't know you go away for a week and everything changes!!!
Sal, love your av!
Jo Congrats on the twinnies!
Gab, Yay on passing that exam!!!
Sal and Keen, Shucks girls, thanks for your kind words. I love the whole idea of mind over matter. I have a lot of colleagues who believe that childbirth just can't be done without pain relief, it's weird listening to it. I agree though Keen, each to their own and you certainly have to be in a frame of mind to labour without drugs. I could go on and on about how amazing our bodies are and how we have the ability to block the 'pain' of labour and how fear of giving birth plays such a big role in the sensations we feel eg; contractions and the associated 'pain' but I'd better not, It would be a VERY long post!
Tam, glad to see you are 12 weeks.
Cai, Amy, hope things are going well for you both.
Melbo - you are so special, thank you for that kind PM before I went away.
In fact, thank you, Sal, Keen, Sushee and Tam for all your kind words.
I am so glad to be home. I started spotting on the way to Tasmania (the day after my little vent here). I've had spotting with all of my pgs but this just kept coming. By the time I got on the boat I was beside myself! Lucky, I had my trusty doppler with me (I love being a midwife) and could get one of the foetal hearts. I kept on spotting for the best part of the twn days. I can only get one hb (because I only have one doppler) I hope. We phoned the specialist on Friday, when I couldn't take it any more and he reassured me that because I had uterine rupture with William, everything would be different, more painful stretching because of the scar tissue protesting and more implantation bleeding because it's twins. So, I know there is one baby in there and just hope that my other little one hasn't checked out on me. Will know more tomorrow and will let you guys know when I get home. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Tiff, it's great to have you back. What a shame that you had to be so worried while on holiday. I have everything crossed that tomorrow you'll find two littl'uns still kicking around. [-o<
Jo, love your ticker! Will now go check out your twins!
Hi all, well semester has officially started, so my posting rate will be slower. Nothing to report from me except that I'm a bit grumpy today owing to having had a headache since yesterday arvo (including having it all night, which is always bad for me).
Well, everything is fine! Two little babies with two little heartbeats beating away strongly, no placental haemorrage or bleeding in the uterus so it's all a bit of a mystery. They gave us some great shots, which I'll put up on the website in a while. We told the kids today too and they were all very excited! The eldest foster boy was a bit uptight but I said it wouldn't change anything and that I wanted to get his room painted and fitted out before the babies arrived and how did he feel about that? He perked up alot then. He is so insecure sometimes about his place in our family. So thank you all so much for your well wishes, they are kindly accepted!
TIff, that's wonderful news! Sorry I thought your u/s was tomorrow, must be preg-brain. You and DP must be so relieved. Can't wait to see pics of your bubs!
OH TIFF! Thats great news! Hmmm I thought I had posted but it must have got lost in the debugs earlier #-o I was going to say try not to worry as this happened to SIL at about the same time as you, she lost a cup of blood rushed to hosp (at this point they didn't know she had twins) then at the hosp they said she was fine but the woman didn't see two babies (silly) and she didn't find out till the following monday when she had her 12 wk scan booked and found out it was twin identical boys! Apparently bleeding is very common with twins, did you have anything like that with your first set? They told her the cervix and everything was closed so it wasn't coming from internally either.
