Woohoo Skye at the 18 week scan. (ppssst I don't think you're lame at all). Yeah my waters broke, had the exam, 4 cms dilated, no pain, as epidural went in had a contraction - boy there is a big difference btw BH & contractions. Actually my BHs made me "pace" the house and they were really annoying/frustrating.

A quick Happy Easter to everyone. Enjoy your guilt free chocolate fix (cause we need the calcium).

Just because it's a public holiday I still expect a daily check-in from you both Sush and Shazz. It would be lovely to have some easter bunnies arrive.

I will be eagerly watching too for news of Shazz and Sushee birth announcements - LV :contract: :contract: LV to you lovelies - hope you get to gobble lots of chocolate and hot cross buns for energy.

Shell - Holly is so gorgeous - what a princess !

Skye - yay for finding out what flavour very soon and seeing bubs again.

Sheree - wow your ticker is moving along nicely too.

We had another scan today - the boys have now moved positions - T1 who was head down is now breech and T2 is transverse and kicking near his head or putting his b*m in T1 face LOL. Placenta flows both normal.

My BP is still down - so very happy.

    Both are growing well - T1 is approx. 810gms and T2 614gms ...

We are having a quiet Easter at home - DS is off with Inlaws to FIL'S Farm 5 hrs away . I didn't want to go that far away from DRs. Beds are so uncomfortable out there. Not much to do.

We are having MIL over 1-2 nights /day and then my Mum (after MIL goes) to stay . - hope they both do my ironing and/or other stuff ...

MIL has so much helpful advice to share or asks too many questions ....then questions my answers ... are you going to BF ? ... do think you will manage ? WT heck ... how do I know.

Then said how important it will be for DH to get sleep - because I said we will put babies in our room - HUH - what about me !

Though my brother said this too - lazy sod never got up to his kids much ... said he had to get up early to work .Then he shifted his kids out of their room because he said they slept better .

MIL can't sit still either. Makes you feel edgy for sitting around or if I want :smt024.Where as my mum will make a cuppa /cook /read her book and just chill out - she only asks what I doing on :smt024 .

Hope you all have a lovely Easter I will be around

    Aw Trish

I hope that despite the MIL visiting, you have a great Easter. I try to ignore my mum too when she gives her 'well meaning' advice, but it does get on your nerves, doesn't it?

Well last night when I couldn't sleep (thanks to late night BHs) I thought to mention to everyone here about the Success Stories sticky in the LTTTC thread. A while back, most of the girls in here got round to writing our success stories and posting them up on that sticky. Now we have some new blood in here, have any of you thought to contribute? Only it helps the lovely LT ladies have some hope, and I know the success stories always kept me going.

Just planting the seed, and hope those of you who haven't done it will think about it. We have some inspirational stories amongst us here!

    love

Sushee - hope you get some  or that bubs decides to come soon.

    I will write mine in 3 /12's

You are right though - I was so inspired by the stories.

MIL is alright as long as she does the ironing (well actually I don't like her touching my stuff - she had melted transfers before but she does DS and DH's) I can enjoy her short visits .

Bless DS's heart the other night he came out carrying a load of his clothes on coat hangers and proudly said he did his own ironing ... still looked a bit wrinkly but I am less bothered if he isn't.

Aaaarrrggghh - MIL's - don't get me started. I have the Italian MIL who has no life of her own and lives her life through her children and thinks she raised 3 perfect boys (who apparently were never bad as kids). I can't wait till DS is old enough to talk to her on the phone so I don't have to anymore. Whenever we visit I have to permamently wear sunglasses as the sun shining from DH's butt is so bright :feelsick:

    Helloooooo! Long time away!

Firstly a HUGE congrats to Amy, Shell and Mel for being clever mums and producing gorgeous bubbies! Amy, am looking forward to reading your birth story!

And LVs to Sushee and Shazz, wow it's amazing how time flies. Trish, congrats on finding out you are baking two boys, that is just so exciting!

Sounds like this forum is chugging along nicely, can't wait for more grads from LTTTC to join you.

Well, I’ve been away a long time. I moved to Canberra with my DH in late Feb/early March, then I had to get a new PC as my old one had died.

Well, to update on me and Miles. I got him weighed today and he’s 7kg. I haven’t had his length measured or head circ lately, but he’s at the 90th percentile for all these. He was out of 000 clothes when he was 6w old as he was too long for the suits. Gee I’m glad I didn’t fork out too much for 000 stuff. Oh, and he was too long for 0000 stuff right from the get-go. Lucky I only bought him two suits that size.

He’s a lovely, happy baby, is happy to sit back and watch me and listen to me, not too attention-grabbing at all. He doesn’t cry much, either, a bit if he’s tired, more if he’s hungry or has wind. I’ve been very lucky. His quirk is that he loves to look at lights/light bulbs etc basically anything that will burn out his retinas LOL. Oh, and he watches TV, which I don’t allow, but sometimes he’s in my arms and he goes real quiet and lo and behold he’s found an angle to watch some TV. He loves being in the carseat and pram, in the car he just falls asleep straight away and in the pram he likes being sat up so that he can watch the world. I have a baby Bjorn carrier and he likes that too, actually I can’t wait for him to have total head control (he’s close now) so that he can face away from me and see a bit more. He hates tummy time and frankly I don’t push it as he’s always been an unusually strong bub.

As for me, well I was really upset about not being able to BF. Miles just would not take to the nipple, never did and even after seeing a speech pathologist, lactation consultant(s), day-stay at a family centre etc etc he just was never going to do it. I tried expressing every two hours (yep, you read that right, every 2 hours around the clock, in addition to having to feed Miles from the bottle and also make up and give him formula to supplement) but it was killing me and making me not enjoy being a mum. It didn’t help that I could never meet Miles’ feeding demands and am not sure that I would have been able to get my supply up enough, given I was never getting the BF experience, just having my nipples wrenched off by the expressing machine instead. So I stopped expressing and put Miles fully on formula. Even though I had a horror birth experience, my only real regret is that Miles is having to settle for second-best when it comes to food.

Ah, the other thing is that I had several 2nd degree tears during labour and the stitching up job that the Obs did was…well…how to put it…the terrain ‘down there’ is not the same as it used to be, plus it’s making youknowwhat quite difficult. I am seeing an Obs that specialises in surgery, next week to get an assessment about a repair job. *gulp*

Psst guess what? I’m TTCing again?!?! Yep, I’m serious. It took me over 3yrs to conceive Miles, so I’m starting again early just in case it takes that long again. Have seen a specialist Obs who’s put me on a diabetic drug that might help me conceive (I have polycystic ovarian syndrome) so I really am actively TTC. Mad? Likely!

    Oh Sal,

welcome back to BB hunny! I just went and had a steaky beak at your pics of Miles. What a cutie! No wonder you want more like him!

I was just about to hop into the shower to get ready for my ob appt but just had to post to welcome you back! I'm sorry to hear about your BF problems, but it sounds like you went far beyond the call of duty with trying to make it work.

I've gotta dash - DH is picking me up in 45 mins and it takes me that long to get ready nowadays!

    love

Sal - welcome back and I agree with Sush - Miles is gorgeous.
I hope the OB helps you - ouch ! and yay on TTC again - you must be loving being a mum.
He is thriving - you did your best and more than a lot would do to give them expressed milk so be very proud of yourself.

Hope it doesn't take 3 yrs though for no 2 ...goodluck

Justine - my Dh's 2 sisters and his mother think way of my DH O - neice was asking the other night if he ever did anything wrong as a child -trying to dig up dirt on him - sisters they never fought with him ( they are 6 & 9 yrs older) and he was a tidy little boy - angelic etc... though I have to admit I can't find much to fault him with either but don't let him know that.

Sushee - shouldn't you have been in bed today [-X -seen a few posts from you - goodluck at OB's

    ***SUSHEE UPDATE***
    Hi ladies
I've just had a message from Sush, she's just returned from her ob visit.

4cm dilated already, 3/4 effaced. Dr did S&S. She's at home, contractions have started but are still irregular. Dr wanted to induce but she declined...

If nothing happens tonight, Sush will post tomorrow.

    Watch this space.
    Sue
