Airline, you can check out betabase for statistics on hcg level by dpo for singletons and twins. Sorry, I misread your post before, I thought you were talking dpo, not dpt. What day was your transfer? Regardless of which day, those numbers are doubling very quickly, which is a great sign!
Airline: I was told date wise to go from two weeks prior to egg pickup. I guess with a FET maybe two weeks prior to transfer? Not sure on that but if you went two weeks prior to transfer it would give you a vague idea until your dating scan. Congrats again!!! Look like really strong numbers!!
xx
cheers glenny, another fellow brisbane gal. congratulations on your bambino....17 weeks wow!
sorry to be ignorant but does the PIG stand for something?
so woke up this morning tired but feeling a bit off, so had a banana then back to 'rest'. I slept another 1 1/2 hours got up and felt off still. I think m/s is setting in. even a i eat my cereal it's an effort to swallow. i wanted a smoothie but DH is asleep from nights. will make one tonight ready for tomorrow morning!
Airline- PIG is a post it girl. Means that Disgirl and I have exchanged mobile numbers and we will text each other when bubs arrives. I will post Disgirls birth announcement and she will post mine
Now, girls, I need your advice please...
I am finding that I am seriously overestimating what I can get done at the moment without falling in a heap! I'm also finding it really hard to sleep as I can't get comfy. My fall back position of on my back is painful now and I can't sleep on my side without a pillow. The trouble is that I've never been very good at sleeping while snuggled up to anything. DH and I sleep on opposite sides of the bed. So I can get to sleep with a pillow supporting my tummy but wake after about an hour because I'm uncomfortable and have to move.
Poor DH had me in tears last night about half 10 because I was so tired but couldn't sleep.
Now- here's my dilemma... I am a teacher and I had planned to finish the school year (Dec 10- makes me just oer 37 weeks) I'm starting to doubt my ability to make it. Especially since I teach in a demountable classroom (One of those metal boxes) which is roasting in summer! I am a contract teacher which means if I go off before Dec 10 I can take maternity leave up until the date of the end of my contract (Dec 10). But if I work up until I can't take mat leave after.
I'm starting to toss up taking some mat leave as I don't think I'll make it to Dec 10. My teaching partner and my DH think I should go off at the end of this term and take all of term 4 on mat leave (would be finishing at 27 weeks). I feel conflicted as I really want to be with these kids as long as possible but I know I have to put myself first. I've sent an email asking for a meeting with my principal to see what he thinks. I'm just finding it hard after so many years of teaching to think of myself before my class.
What do you all think, use your many hats- friends, parents, pregnant women, professionals. Also, any tips for my conversation with my boss as when I told him I was preggers I told him I planned to finish the year, after that conversation, he renewed my contract for the 2nd half of the year.
Hope I haven't confused you- I am crazy tired and not even seeing straight. Am at work today but tired and grumpy.
airline, I meant was it a 3dt or 5dt. Just trying to get an idea of how many dpo you would have been. With regards to the EDD, if you O'd, I'd use that to calculate the due date. I did it that way (although, in my case it was EPU instead of O) and our 7 week scan measured spot on for that due date.
glenny, one thing I've learned from my friends, is that pregnancy plans are NOT set in stone. My BFF had intended to work until 36wks for her first pg, but when she visited her OB at 27 weeks he told her to finish working that day because her BP was up and he was worried about pre-e (she ended up being fine). I think if you make it clear that you want to work and want to be there for the kids, but you are concerned that your ability to do your job properly for them will be impaired as you progress, then it would be hard to be upset with you. I think just be honest. The way you've worded it above, it sounds like you intend to share your concerns with him, rather than presenting a decision that is already made, which sounds like the right approach to me. I don't know what your relationship with the principal is like, but I've found that being open and honest has worked really well for me. I get a heck of a lot of leeway from my managers (eg today I'm working at home because I feel a bit crappy and didn't want to go to work).
ETA: My employer requires 10 weeks written notice prior to the intended start of maternity leave. If something comes up during those 10 weeks that means you have to finish earlier, then you just finish earlier.
Hi ladies
I make this post with much sadness & heartache. My scan on friday showed my precious bub had passed away. My worst fears..again. This is my 4th m/c now and am very quickly losing all hope that i will ever be a mum. I have had so many tests done last time and i have positive ANA (antinuclear antibodies) & NK cells, am really starting to think this is my problem and i fear i will keep on killing our poor babies. I feel like such a failure. I was on all the right drugs, clexane, prednisone, progesterone etc...just dont know what else to do?
If anyone has any good stories of success after multiple losses would love to hear them. I know it does happen, but i'll never know if it will happen for me. Dont know what to think at the moment, i swing from anger to fear to complete dispair. I have to go in for a D&C sometime this week, i am really hating carrying around my dead baby inside me at the moment, i just want it out!
So sorry to be a downer on this thread. I want to thank each & every one of your for your support over the last month and wish you all the very best for continued safe & happy pregnancies.
Hopefully one day i will be back, but for now i need a good break...and a few more good cries
Just wanted to say to Yogi how sorry I am to hear your news. I will be thinking of you, please let yourself grieve as this is a very tough time. Don't give up, there is so much research into recurrent miscarriages - there is nothing 'wrong' with you, you just need to find the right person to help you get the baby you so very, very much deserve. Hugs to you xxx
Yogi bear i am so so sorry for your loss. Its so hard to find words of comfort but i too have a friend who had reoccurring m/c and she had a healthy bub on her fourth pg from having some injection everyday.
CK77- ive known the sex of our baby since before he was transfered, we had PGD IVF due to a sex linked disease i carry. One upside of that is finding out the sex of our embies that make it thru testing.
Tantee - Congrats and welcome you must be over the moon!!! You have come to the right place all the girls in here are wonderful and we can all relate to those first few weeks before you see the blob and the heart beat!!
yogi, I'm so, so sorry to hear your news. I hope the d&c goes smoothly and that your recovery is quick.
I do know someone who now has a healthy 5mo daughter after several early losses. I think her problem was a clotting disorder, but beyond that I don't know many details because we're not close. I just know she did daily injections throughout the pregnancy. I hope that one day (9 months after you're ready to start trying again) I'll get to share your success story with someone else in a similar position.
So very sorry, YogiBear. I just wanted to echo what Lairdoz said: you aren't doing anything "wrong". This is not your fault. This is just incredibly unfair. I know two women who have had many miscarriages and have eventually had children: my SIL has a one year old girl and my friend has a three year old boy.
Oh YogiBear, I was devastated to read your news, sending you massive hugs Let it all out, give yourself time and space to grieve. The baby you so desperately want and utterly deserve is out there in the universe waiting for you. Don't lose hope.
When you are feeling strong again, maybe get a second opinion about managing the ANA and NK cells. New treatment regimes are being developed all the time.
Take care of yourself sweetie, wishing you a short wait til you get your little miracle.
