Hey Renee - thanks for the hug. I think DH will be a fantastic father, but I am just not sure if during the labour he will be much help to me, but I would never begrudge him being there - I could never forgive myself. I just have to hope that he comes to his senses during labour and realises that it's all about me and my comfort.

Kelly - good luck with the NT scan on Thursday, hope it all goes well for you and the bubs.

BabyTruj - GTT is Glucose Tolerance Test. You quickly drink a very sweet drink, then an hour or so later you get blood taken and sent off to a lab. Depending on the results, you may be called back for a 2nd test which is much longer. (in very very layman's terms). I'm sure the small amount of blood was nothing to wory about, and sounds like you are thinking about it quite rationally instead of emotionally which is good. How long have you been living in Singapore? Knowing the weather over there, I will try not to complain about the weather here!

Brunette - any update on when your OBs thinks you'll be in for the c-section (if c-section is definite now?). And how is your placenta tracking?

AFM - have felt like I'm going to get my period all day. My sister reckons she felt like that then gave birth a few days later! I don't think I'm about to give birth but I'm certainly not feeling comfortable either. My 2 sisters, with their 6 kids between them, have all gone early (1 x 4wks early and the rest were about a week early). I'm hoping to continue the tradition, just not THIS early!! Give me about 2-3 more weeks!!

Hi CK77 - Been in Singapore for 3 and a bit years now, and loving it here at the moment! Yes, I am trying not to think the worst. I had a small bleed about 2 weeks ago now, just before the BFP BT, and I was in a state about that one too, but it could have been implantation, and was only very small, and very pinky....
Great, so sounds like I have lots more blood tests n store for me;) I guess wth IVF you get used to a needle pretty quickly. I'm still injecting Saizen (a grpwth hormone) for another week, and am on Utrogesten 3 times a day, progynova 3 times a day, asprin and follic acid/multi vit.!

hi renee - we are in the newcastle region as well but were forutnate enough to be invited to a 1st bday party on Sunday... a pool party!!! which was sooo great :)

babytruj - i had bleeding before my BT was due, so much so i thought AF had arrived and went into a BT at the clinic "so i could start my next FET asap'' lol Can you imagine my absolute astoishment when they rang and said "you're preg!" The numbers were low cos it was done so early but continue to climb! hope all goes well for you. I think throughout your entire pregnancy you worry... the worry just changes. I'm in the 12 week worry (graduated from the tww lol) and then it's the "no more scans til 20 weeks but can't feel movement yet'' worry and then it's the "is he/she moving enough worry''; then GT worry and then "why won't they stop moving" and it goes on and on.. and just wait til the bub arrives!!!

better go. somehow my child has managed to get entangled in a cooler bag... hmmmm oxo

BabyTruj, welcome and wishing you a H&H 9 months. I remember you from the LTTTC thread I'm pretty sure. Did you hyperstimulate for your 1st round and end up with something like 30-plus eggs?

CK, sorry to hear you and your DH are going through a rough patch. I am sure you will work it out and he will support you and be there for you during labour and beyond. Thanks for asking how I'm tracking. Placenta has moved up, now 3.8cm away from the cervix but needs to be 5 cm away to not be PP. So I'm graded minor PP but can have a spinal CS and be awake at the birth. Yay! The plan is to see if I can make it to 38 weeks, well two days shy of 38 weeks. I'm booked in for 8 December, so a maximum of 20 days to go. Yikes!

Re the debate about folic acid, I've been on 5mg since trying to conceive and all the way through this PG. My OB recommended it and even when I thought I could stop at 12 weeks as my levels were high and my understanding is it's only needed and important for the 1st trimester, he wanted me to stay on it. I wonder if it also helps with iron levels? Anyone know?

Hope you are all travelling along nicely and growing nice chubby bubba's.

Just a quick one to let you all know we had our NT scan today... YAY... Without having bloods our DS risk is 1:1170 so happy with that and now no need for a CVS or amnio.

Twin A (right side) was measuring at 13w and seemed to be taking up all the right side and the middle and Twin B (left side) was measuring at 13w 1d and was all squished up. Twin B has always measured 1 day bigger in every scan so far, but I'm happy as they were growing (measuring bigger than our actual dates) and very active jumping around everywhere.

So next scan in 4 weeks time and fingers crossed both babies are cooperative and we get to see what sex they wil be....

Leabie, I think I have at least one cat, too, as T2 does exactly the same thing under my ribs. Doesn't it hurt! If CK goes to term, then I'll be the next batter up. Yikes, that's quite scary. Seems very surreal to be at the bottom of the list one minute and second from the top the next! I'm booked for a CS on Wednesday, 8 December. Wish me luck, everyone!

Hi to everyone else. :hello: Sounds like you're all travelling along well!

Hopefully today we will finally finish this d*mn report that had me working a 65 hour week last week (hence no time to post, although I did pop in to check up on everyone). I also hope this means my BP will be back down to normal at this week's OB appt (was up a little at the last one and I'm hoping it was just due to stress). 24 work days to go (including today)...

Other than that, it's still smooth sailing here.

gone home early from work. I finish up this Friday and realistically I should have finished last Friday. I've had constant period pain for the last 3-4 days. Today I can't really walk properly and everyone that saw me at work said it looked like I was about ready to have this baby. Bub is full term in about 6 days. I am not sure if I overdid it on the weekend - broke up a 2km walk with an hour or so of tile grouting at DH's Mum's island shack (Macleay Island, near Stradbroke Island). 1km from ferry to the shack, I walked it easy. Grouting on hands and knees, not an issue. 1km walk back to Ferry - piece of p!ss. But now I feel terrible! Did I overdo it or is this the lead up to labour? The period pain preceeded the weekend walk so I'm hoping this is the lead up. I don't want 3-4 more weeks of feeling this terrible!!

Maybe I'm just trying to beat Brunette into hospital ;-)

Juniper, I really hope those 24 days go quickly for you. That will give you a nice break in between to get all those last minute things done. FX your blood pressure is on the decrease.

Congrats Kelly on your NT scan results. Such a load off isn't it when everything is progressing nicely. If you find out the sexes at the next scan, are you keeping it between you and DH or are you letting the cat out?

Okay, WHOOPING COUGH: I've told anyone in my family who will be visiting from Townsville that they will need to get vaccinated due to there being a bit of an epidemic currently. Everyone has been great, EXCEPT for one of my sisters who's response was "no-one got vaccinated before they held MY babies. Why don't you just get the baby done?" Grrrrrr!! I thought it might have been the cost factor so offered to pay for it. Now she is saying that she doesn't think she can get it done as a few years ago had a bad rash from antibiotics for bronchitis, and when she went in to get swine flu vaccine they said because of her reaction to previous antibiotics to not bother about the swine flu vaccine - hence she doesn't think they'll give her the whooping cough vaccine. It all sounds like garbage to me. I've told her that she wont be staying at my house or coming near my baby. Is that b*tchy of me? She said she wishes she'd known that I am requesting vaccinations for everyone before she booked non-refundable plane flights. Imagine if *touch wood this doesn't happen* baby contracted it and got really sick or died, how would she feel knowing that it was her fault and that a simple little vaccine would have prevented it??? Okay, I'm ranting now because I'm really annoyed with her. Told her to ring the doctor and check, she said she gets home too late from work to ring them but she'd TRY to call them during the day (gee, don't go out of your way there!). Aaaagh! don't need this stress.

Well I've reserved Birth Skills at the local library, just waiting for it to come in.

Okay, I have to go drink a bottle of scotch now (kidding) to try to destress. Damn family, why does there always have to be one!!

CK, is it worth you asking your Dr if there's any conceivable reason why your sister couldn't get the vaccine? Even if she thinks you're being over-protective (and I say that knowing that I would do exactly the same, so it's not a criticism), you have every right to be as protective as you feel is necessary! If she can't be bothered finding out whether she can safely take the vaccine, then the problem is hers. As you say, the potential consequences of her giving bub the disease far outweigh any inconvenience to her. I hope this week passes quickly for you and you can put your feet up for a few weeks before bub arrives.

ps. I couldn't help but lol at your comment about trying to beat Brunette to the hospital and got a funny look from someone walking past.

Afm, I'm still waiting for my boss to provide his input for this report. Good to know my rush to get it finished by COB Friday was worth the effort... Now not holding my breath on it being done today. :(

AFM, I did the glucose challenge test and had an instant though I guess mild panic attack (with nausea) and kind of spent a lot of the day crying (just a sense of dread and anxiety - I think my blood sugar was out of control). The nurse said it's quite common though and that it's a really harsh test. Wow. So glad I didn't know how bad it would be going in. Oops, prob shouldn't have said that for the other ladies who've not done it. OB says baby growing well (from the feel) and maybe even a bit ahead of time. The head is down for right now, but not engaged or anything. Anyway, they move heaps apparently so it's kind of just nice to know but not particularly relevant for later.

Okay must dash and hope everyone going well.

WW, your experience with the GTT sounds nasty. To reassure others yet to have theirs, mine was no problems. I didn't mind the taste of the drink or get a sugar rush or anything, and didn't have gestational diabetes. Glad to hear bub is growing well and head is down.

Juniper, hope your BP is in the normal range and 24 days of work flies by for you.

CK, you poor thing. Those pains sound horrible. Try to take it easy, hey? Your sister sounds like she's being a real cow. Whooping cough is an epidemic ATM so why can't people just do the right thing? We've got a similar problem here. Most family members have now had a booster shot but my brothers haven't and I haven't asked them, and neither has one brother's wife and mother who's from China. I doubt they would have ever had a vaccine against it in their lives. My brother's wife, so my SIL, is undergoing chemo for cancer and I don't want to ask them to get vaccinated or put them through anything else. But I'm really worried about them holding the babies. It's so hard, isn't it? I too was :ROFL: at your comment that you were trying to beat me to give birth. And now I'm laughing because Juniper got a funny look from one of her work colleagues while laughing at your post!

Has anyone written out a birth plan or birth preferences? I just knocked something out today but it's pretty compact as I really only have to cover a spinal or a general caesarean option.
