Hi girls,
I just got my Beta back and it's 227 at 16dpo so looking good from what I've read. I'm so relieved, with all of my m/c levels never got over 100. Woohoo!

Kaybee, worrying is definitely normal. Symptoms come and go and change in the blink of an eye. It did my head in quite a few times (ie constantaly ) during the first half of the pg. Just when I got used to something it would change...

MaggiePie, wow, that is certainly a busy time! I hope things quiet down for you a bit now.

WW, 2 days to go now? I hope they pass quickly and smoothly.

Afm, OB appt today was fine except the OB was stranded up north in Townsville or something, so it's starting to feel like we may never see her again (we haven't seen her since 30wks)... At the last appt she said we'd discuss the birth plan at the next appt. Hmmm....

Anyway, bub is head down, but her spine is at my left side, so I need to encourage her to rotate to an anterior position. BP was fine in spite of my balloon-sized feet and slightly swollen hands. Only issue is low haemoglobin levels, so have to start an iron supplement. Otherwise, all is good...

GL for Thursday Renee. It's a tough gig waiting for our little ones to arrive when they appear to be so happy where they are.

Kaybee I remember you too, and Possums from my long time in the LTTC threads which I still stalk every noeand again. It is so completely normal to be anxious. It was only when my OB (who is nothing to do with my FS or fertility clinic) told me everything would be fine when I was worried about the 12 week scan. I think we get so used to NOT getting excited that our minds are protecting us from getting hurt. But the chances are very, very high that everything with your buns is JUST fine!

Juniper I'm on iron supplements but only take half strength as I'm not that big and found they gave me too much energy, which I didn't think would happen.

GL for Thursday Renee! I am already impatient, which is ridiculous, so I can't imagine how impatient you must be! I reckon so many babies hang around longer these days because we're so much healthier? That's a dodgy theory, maybe, but I always notice that it's the healthiest girls who seem to go over (in my sample of say 3 people!).

Thanks, Juniper, yep 2 days, thank god! Hey, and I think I've read that left side is great as a start, because then the baby only turns a quarter circle to become anterior (because for some reason nature makes us turn clockwise). This could be rubbish, but it came with my independent childbirth education course (one of the three thousand birth courses I did, kind of embarrassing on reflection). Anyway, last I heard my baby was lying that way too!

Lairdoz, and a cold to boot! Jesus. Hope the ipad is a small distraction.

Kelly, congrats on halfway too! Wow, exciting.

Kaybee - yep, the nerves. They will be pretty chronic, I reckon. Eventually though, they'll go. I'd avoid any stimulants like tea, coffee or chocolate (like I imagine you would be anyway) and late nights, and eat heaps of (complex) carbs! I remember those nerves. In fact, they come back now and then, but not so bad as those first three months. I agree with Lairdoz - it really does seem like a protection mechanism, because we've all been through our share of disappointments.

AFM, just counting the days, which is very silly, I know. I am getting pretty excited. And scared too, to be honest. I'm doing guided relaxation CDs to try to relax, plus reading the memoirs of punk-rocker Patti Smith. Just something really far from the baby-talk. Seeing OB on Friday. Bit nervous about baby possie. It is so silly to focus on these things we cannot control at all. I mean, I do all the fitball, crawling, backwards-chair sitting .. but I reckon if that baby wants to lie a certain way s/he will ...

just a quick question...if things progress with this pregnancy, DH and I have been looking at when we could take a holiday before the baby is due. With work/financial committments, early May might be good...I would be around 23 weeks by then I think. I am not sure how I will be feeling or how big i will be...to those of you who are near the end now, how did you feel at that point? ok for a holiday by the beach/some car travel to get there etc? It's very early days for me i know, but we are just looking at when something like that could happen anyway

Possums- I would think 23 weeks would be the perfect time! I was actually feeling quite good around then. I started feeling tired and bloated etc around 28 weeks.

Possums: Around that time is generally the perfect time as you are passed the feeling horrible and generally have a bit more energy and your normally not too big to still be able to get around with much discomfort. With DD I remember it was around that time that I went to Perth for a week to visit my sister - so that was 4 hours on a plane. We are also going away in 3 weeks time for a few days - I'll be around 23 weeks again - and even though I will be much bigger (der) and I'm more tired, if we wait too much longer I'll be too exhausted to enjoy myslef.

kelly and glenny thanks for that, it helps. I need to fit leave around others at work, so the other option was a bit sooner at 17-18 weeks...my mum actually said she thought i might feel better a bit later on, just in case I do get morning sickness and it continues for a while past 12 weeks. She also recalled feeling pretty good around the 23 week mark.

....cautiously creeping in here....hello ladies ....not sure if i'm doing the right thing coming on this thread so soon given my history, but this time i'm thinking might as well try and embrace this pregnancy (could be my last one!!)

I'm now going through my 5th official pregnancy, am off to a good start but unfortunately i know all too well that it can come crashing down in the blink of an eye...hence being extra cautious and taking it day by day.

I recognise a few of you here from back in July (before my last m/c)...worrywart, Lairdoz, MaggiePie & juniper..WOW ALMOST THERE GIRLS!!! So exciting for you all.

Congrats too for Kaybee, so happy all is going well for you and TOTALLY understand how you are feeling....we can worry together!!!!

Also congrats to Possums, all the best for tomorrows BT. In my other pregancies i was having BT every few days at the start then every week til the scan but this time i've decided i'm having no more now, just going to wait for the scan at 7 weeks. I find it just toooo stressful for me, waiting around for the call worrying what level it should be then worrying when you get the results how it compares to "normal". I've learnt that even if you have good results all along it doesn't guarantee the outcome, and you cant do anything about it anyway... so i'm being brave and just taking it day by day with the "assumption" that all is going well!!!

"HI" to everyone else, i have some catching up to do but i look forward to getting to know you all over the coming 8 months (see...trying to think positive!!! )

Hi Yogi Bear,

Hopefully this little one is a stayer and it will make it all worthwhile. I don't know how you manage to go back again and again after miscarriages. I think after 1 or 2 I'd cope but any more than that and I don't think I could handle it at all.

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. How far along are you now and at what stage did you lose the others? When do you think you'll start to feel more positive about this one?

Possums, that timing sounds great! I had m/s until 13wks, then had some heartburn straight after which it took me a while to get under control, then I was exhausted from 16-20wks. I felt pretty good between 20-30wks.

yogi- congratulations!!! wonderful to see you in here...I think we overlapped briefly in the TWW. I know exactly what you mean about day at a time...4th pregnancy for me, and mine all started out just fine, good levels, heartbeat in early scans etc (obviously the ectopic is an exception to that). I am trying to remind myself this is a different, brand new pregnancy, with every chance of going right, and continuing to go right! I hope it's the case for us both.
I know too about the blood tests causing stress. I am thinking maybe tomorrows will be my last one (unless they want to check progesterone) and then I will wait for the scan...because looking at HCG charts is stressful. Do you have any idea what has caused your previous losses? I think having some answers has helped me this time.

Possums, I know others have replied as well, but I highly recommend the 23 week stage for a holiday. We did an overseas trip at this stage with my DD, did six flights and was absolutely fine. It also means you have done your week 18/19 scan so can relax knowing everything is on track (as it will be)

Yogi - so great to see you in here. I have to admit that it's been obvious to me that there haven't been anywhere near enough BFP's since my own in June in the LTTC forums I spent so long in. I completely understand the caution, but I am really hopeful for you that this is your new baby snuggling in for a long and healthy stay!

welcome welcome to all the newbies!!! Only recently it was commented that there hadn't been many new arrivals, and now we have an influx...yeh!! Good luck to everyone for a H&H pregnancy.

Possums I know you've probably made a decision based on other comments, but my tuppence is that I think it's a good time too. I went for a few days to Port Douglas around that time and it was great. We didn't book anything till closer to the time as my nausea lasted 9 weeks, and I was worrying it was going to continue for much longer, and going away would've been pointless.

Regarding the 'list' I would happily take over from Renee but I'm not not on here enough these days, I check in and do a quick catch up but don't stay on for hours like in days gone by I'm afraid. As someone else said, maybe a newbie would like to update the 'due date/arrivals list'.

My latest symptom are some varicose veins up in my groin area, where your leg creases.....not happy Jan! Yes I know it's all worth it...but I got a bit of a shock!! Can't see 'em when I look down (can't see much ;-) ) but looked in the mirror and there they were.

Had some wierd dreams last night, dreamt my 'newborn' could walk...dreamt he was dressed as a 'she' by the hospital.....wierd.

For those of you who were chatting about Dexter...we just finished the Trinity killer series - series 4 I think. Great!!! The ending took me by surprise..(didn't sleep well that night either!!) Gotta start the last series now.

Airline- my DH loves Dexter, so I might tell him abouit the Trinity ones. Second thoughts maybe I'll get them for his birthday next week! Bugger about the varicose veins, one of my friends just had hers fixed after her 2nd and last pregnancy. She said the same, they just popped up one day!

Possum- I would agree with travelling between 20-30w, I felt the best then with DS. After that I was starting to get too big to get much done!

I am not good at keeping track of everyone who is on! I am so bamboozled! Hi to everyone!

AFM: I just got my 2nd lot of BT results and they have risen from 227 to 389 in 24 hours so I was super happy with that. Progestrone was 65, not that I know what it should be but she said that was good?! I'm not going to have any more BT either, just scan at 7 weeks and hopefully see a heartbeat! This is the furtherest I've managed to get into a pg without things starting to look iffy so I'm quite excited, although still very nervous.

I'm taking DH off the GOld Class movies to celebrate! Have a great day!
