To Renee's "Little Bug", mummy is ready to meet you now! Would you like to come out and play? Please? Pretty please?

Possums, it seems to vary a bit. My bloating went down at 10wks, so if yours does the same then it would probably be before you're showing. But some ladies (mostly with OHSS) find it sticks around until the bump starts and it's like the bloating decreases as the bump increases, so they stay the same size (until they get further along and get bigger). I'm overweight, so I've had people seemingly surprised to learn I was pg as recently as 34wks. When my co-workers found out at 27wks only a couple said they had wondered (because the top I wore that day was a bit more fitting than what I normally wore to work); the rest were surprised.

dreamrise, this is our first, but I'm already majorly protective and paranoid! If you've got a bad feeling about a situation, acting on it seems a sensible option. If you said nothing and something did happen, you'd be blaming yourself forever.

WW, sending you *no leg cramps* vibes!

Yogi, I hope the meds you're on this time do the trick and this baby comes home with you in 8 months time, a happy and healthy bub!

Bec, I actually went the other way with the HPTs. I couldn't bring myself to test before the beta. On the day of the beta I was literally sitting on the bed crying at the thought of another BFN HPT (which I was sure it would be). Even once I was told the beta was BFP, I couldn't bring myself to use one... So, I didn't use even 1 HPT this pregnancy.

Worrywart - that's right! I remember now that it was you asking about the Epi-No. Like I said, I think its good, I can't imagine being able to do it myself! Hehe we must have the same short arms...

Renee - great news that a) you've had your show and b) you've already started dilating. Great progress! I would've strangled them if they revised my date at that stage - grrr. Thinking of you luv, hope all's well.

Possums - your progesterone level is fantastic! I had OHSS after our ICSI, my progesterone was >1000, and I was like a whale on the couch! Hehe. Looked about 4 or 5 months pg for a while. The bloating did subside before the preggy belly took over, took about a month from memory. Did you say you are on clexane too? Hope everything goes nice and smoothly for you this time, you've been through so much.

Jaki - what a bummer about GD. Hope the management plan was sorted out. A girlfriend of mine had it, she controlled it through diet and exercise.

YogiBear and becnxavi - you girls have been through soo much too, my prayers are with you both that these are your sticky embies and that down the track a little bit you can relax into your pregnancies. Ha, easier said than done, I know. At least you have a safe haven in this group to just let your crazy hang out! POAS addiction is common in here, do what you need to to get through.

Dreamrise - paranoia and anxiety are natural states of being for us LTTTCers, aren't they?! Hopefully you will quickly move past the feeling that you are only meant to have one child. I went through a phase where I was completely paranoid of something happening to DH.

HI to all you other beautiful ladies, there was more I wanted to type, but I have DH sitting rather impatiently at my feet, wanting to go out and play. Good practice for when this bub is a bit older, I reckon!

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Hi Ladies,

That just took me about an hour to catch up since my last visit. I was in there ALL the time in the LTTTC thread, but guess I've been too tired these days (yay!). Thanks so much for helping to put my mind at ease with all the first trimester worries. I just hope hope hope I get through drama free.

Yogi - HI - so nice to see you here. I bloody hope your dramas are over now. This one is a stayer.

Becnxavi - I was POASing before my official BT and although I haven't done one since - I can't bring myself to throw out those precious two liners. Sad, I know

Dreamrise - I think your fears are pretty rational too. Maybe having to go through a lot this time round makes you a bit more aware of how precious the whole process is. Either way, I can understand you wanting to keep your daughter close

Renee - Hope you're too busy pushing to be in here, but how can they change your due date so late? I hope you're coping ok

Jaki - I had GD with my DS. I started trying to control it through diet and exercise but ended up going on insulin. There just wasn't anything else I could cut out of my diet - I was doing everything right, low GI everything, regular meals, lots of walking, but my sugar stayed high. It was pretty daunting and very scary at first having to take insulin - I didn't want any drugs in there harming my baby, but the high sugar is so much more of a risk. Anyway, everything was totally fine. My bub was always small (not big as is the fear with GD) and completely healthy. It also meant I had more regular doc visits and scans - which was quite reasurring seeing bub more often. So, good luck with it!

Possums - great BT results. I'm so glad everything is going well for you. Bummer about the bloating though

Leabie - what is Epi-No? You've probably already answered - I only went back a few pages. Something you need longs arms for??? I'm so intrigued

AFM - I got really excited last night when my nausea kicked back in. Ahhh, something must still be happening in there. Phew

    Hi Everyone,

Juniper, Kaybee, Leabie and everyone else who were reassuring about my sudden anxiety re my daughter - thanks. We had a nice day today - doing garage shopping, catching up briefly with a friend and having lunch out (very rare for us - just one main meal of chinese shared between us).

I still lent my housemate my car since her's really isn't safe and she is doing so much driving today (I'm fortunate that I am in the position to do this as I now have 2 working cars - my good car and my old one which wasn't worth trading in when I bought my new one because they were going to give me so little for it so I have decided to keep it as it is a good towing vehicle (and I have horses and a horse float) and my new car can't tow). So I lent my housemate my old car (which is still better than her car - only 14 years old instead of 20 years old). I did have to get a new starter motor for the old car yesterday which cost me another $500 but hopefully now it won't cost anything for a while.

Anyway this woman is the one giving me my nightly injections at the moment but she won't be home till 1am tomorrow morning so I need to do it myself tonight. I've got out of practice so am a bit anxious about doing it correctly and not hurting myself again!

Friends from Melbourne are calling in for a visit tomorrow which will be nice. They were one of the first I told about being pregnant (via a text message) and it will be the first time we have seen each other since the news.

Hope everyone else is going well. Sorry to hear about the GD Jaki. My housemate is a diabetic and has regular insulin shots. She was a great comfort to me when I first started on the drugs for IVF since the neddles are similar (I'm a bit phobic of needles but she reassured me). Now she gives me the progesterone injections each night but she told me even after 10 years of insulin shots she finds these needles difficult since the liquid is so thick and the needle so long and she hates that I always flinch (just a little bit) when she does it. I hope that even if you do end up needing insulin shots it all works itself out after the bub is born and you don't have to worry about it long term.

just popping in to see if Renee has any news....it seems not. Kelly that's a good belly effort!! ;-)
Aimee welcome, how far along are you?
Belly rubs to all. I've just finished my working week, week off now thank goodness (I lay down for 15min in a sofa at the back of our office today!) Tonight DH is nightshift, so a few episodes of Parenthood (if anyone hasn't watched it, it's great) and hopefully tonight I won't wake up every hour like last night xx

airline- hope you get some better rest...havent watched parenthood but sounds like I should

aimee- welcome! how are you going?

kellyd- yay for that milestone and great belly pic !

dreamrise- I don't have any children yet but I can understand your anxiety and I think this journey only heightens it. I guess if you ever feel it's too much counsellors etc can help (I've seen a few over the years).
hope the injections went ok ...I was nervous when I started injecting myself, but am used to it now, so hopefully you were fine

kaybee- yay for symptoms, how are you?. I am the same, I feel happy when I feel queasy because I know something is going on! lol I hope things all go smoothly for you this time, I know it's been a hard road to get to here

leabie- hello, hope you had a good weekend

bec- hope all is going well for you. I totally relate to anxiety in these early stages. It's understandable given your miscarriages (and I am sorry for your losses). After our losses we are just taking it week at a time too...here's hoping a happy and healthy pregnancy is in store for all of us. I have stopped POAS now, but at the start I had them all lined up to see my progress too :-)

yogibear- hope you are doing well. I relate to much of what you said...with my last two pregnancies we had had scans and seen strong heartbeats, only to have missed miscarriages and turn up at the next scan and see no heartbeat. It's devasting. I so so hope this the time for both of us and am really sorry for your losses and all you have been through. Your body clearly does want to have a baby and this is the time! I have thought a bit that way too...ie. we have fallen pregnant relatively easily in the past (well, through IVF etc but you know), so surely that's a good sign, and now that I am on extra treatments etc surely that will help etc. I think it helps to think of this as a brand new pregnancy where anything is possible.

juniper- thanks for the advice, hope you are going well

renee- thinking of you and hope we hear news soon

afm- travelling along well (I hope!) feeling queasy and have gone of my usual sweet foods to craving savoury things...and need to make sure I don't let myself get too hungry or I don't feel good. Loving having symptoms. Sore breasts and the standard bloating continues :-)

and to answer the question about clexane- yes I am on daily injections and my Ob says I will need to be the whole pregnancy (I have antiphospholipid syndrome). I am also on low dose PTU to manage Graves Disease, and having a fortnightly blood test to check my thyroid function (my endocrinologist is great and very particular about things, which I love as it's reassuring). I have become more used to the clexane needles now, even though they do hurt more than the IVF ones I think.
    Anyone else here on clexane?
First scan will be at 8 weeks, then 10 weeks, 12 weeks, then I think I will have a scan each month to monitor things due to my medical stuff.
The furthest we've been before is 10 weeks, and all my losses have been between 8-10 weeks, so a nervous stage coming up for us.
Awaiting the 8 week scan now. I have the option of a final hcg/progesterone blood test this thursday and will probably have it done, just to get some continued feedback, even though the results often stress me, making sure they are 'normal' etc!
anyway, I have chatted enough! hope a good week is ahead for you all :-)

    Hi everyone

Hi ladies I hear you are looking for some new faces so I hope you won't mind me joining in. I have lurked on Belly Belly for years now (including this forum when I was pregnant with DS in 08/09) but never had the courage to join in.

I am now pregnant with number 2, and am finally far enough along that I feel safe enough to announce that I actually am pregnant (we still haven't told anyone yet!)

I will be 13 weeks tomorrow and still climbing the walls so as you can see I am quite the worry wart, so some of you other newbies in here who are very anxious I know exactly what you're talking about.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all over the next little while. Oh, and is anyone here in Perth?

And I couldn't not send a special mention to Possums - I remember you from way back when I was pregnant with DS, and I was so touched by how you coped with your disappointments and setbacks with such dignity and strength. I can't say enough just how happy I am for you that you are here

Hi Possums, sounds like we have a similar history God i hope with all my might that this is it for us!! I'm also on clexane as i have positive ANA and also NK cells, although i've been on it for 2yrs now & it didn't seem to help with my other pregnancies so who knows if its any good for me?! Also on 20mg prednisolone a day, again i was on this last time and i still m/c so ??? I'm actually thinking of getting another bt too...i know i know i said i didn't want any more but i think i might go to my GP instead of the clinic, i just cant handle the ivf clinic anymore i feel that they are always giving me bad news!! Silly really, i know a different doctor cant change the outcome but if its bad news at least it will be coming from someone different!! Good luck with your BT on thurs.

I've been freaking out a bit these last few days cause that mild crampy, stretching feeling had just about gone, i was convinced yesterday that it was all over, but luckily as i sit here i'm feeling those cramps again....AHHHhh bliss!!! this is the only symptom i have, i've never had morning sickness with any of my other pregancies. Also, have the heightened sense of smell and i seem to always be smelling sweaty feet or dog poo!!!

Hi Aimee...welcome! How is everything going for you?

Hi to everyone else, sorry i gotta run this arvo but am thinking of you all and sending warm fuzzy bellyrubs to you all

    Have a good night

    Hi Yogi

I think we were typing at the same time! Just a question, I am also ANA positive, and they have further tested and found me to be SSA positive. I am asymptomatic but apparently they just need to watch the baby's heart closely in case the antibodies cross the placenta.

I'm just wondering if you are in the same boat and if you have any other info on it? I am seeing my OB again on Thursday and am going to start grilling him about it.

    Hi Everyone,
Glad to hear most of you are doing well. Possum thanks for the thorough comments on everyone because that helped bring me up to speed a bit too.

I had a very scarey night last night. Extreme abdominal cramping (not like period cramps) and it was so bad I literally just wanted to die so the pain would stop. Was lying on the cold tiles in the toilet (the only thing to give me some relief) and felt like I wanted to vomit and **** at the same time - didn't know which end to put over the toilet bowl.

TMI warning - Finally managed to **** (normal looking but double my normal size). Pain subsided a bit for a few minutes then came back just as bad. Then I had diahorea. Two huge amounts about 5 minutes apart. After the 2nd the pain finally eased off alot and I managed to go back to bed and slept for a couple of hours. Then woke with more pain. Back to the toilet and this time I noticed blood in my undies... of course started to panic then. Did a wee and then a small poo and when I wiped my bottom there was bright red blood. Looked in the toilet bowl and there was blood - about a teaspoon full. Atleast it didn't come from the vagina so tried to reassure myself it was okay - the baby will still be fine.

Back to bed... couldn't sleep. Felt like I wanted to throw up. Finally got 30 mins sleep before waking up with pains again and another trip to the toilet with more blood (teaspoon full again).

Of course all these thoughts go through your head... the baby should be okay... huge relief it isn't vaginal bleeding but blood on your poo I'd heard could be a sign of bowel cancer so of course start panicking.

Bleed once more later that morning. Nausea and light pain throughout the morning. Finally rang the mother of the 4 main kids I look after and told her I needed the kids picked up early. She collected them at 1 and I went straight to the hospital. Foreign doctor who didn't seem to understand me except that I was pregnant so wanted to organise an ultrasound but said I would have to pay for it as a private patient!!! Finally got through to him that the bleeding wasn't from the vagina so he did a rectal examination (yuk) and decided I have hemorrhoids. I've never had them or known anyone who has had them. Has anyone else? Apparently they are more common during pregnancy. I have been referred to a surgical unit and am meant to get a call from them in the next couple of days. Luckily the pain has subsided (more just a squirmy feeling now and nausea) and I'm hoping they'll decide I don't need surgery after all.

Have my ultrasound scan on Thursday and am looking forward to reassurance that everything is still fine with the baby or babies.

Looking after 6 kids tomorrow so hope I cope okay.

Any info / advice on hemorrhoids greatly appreciated.

    Hey Lori
I'm sorry to hear about your sore bot-bot

I was never actually diagnosed with anything but I'm sure I had haemerrhoids/piles after I had DS (which is weird given I had a C-section). I was too embarrassed to go and see anyone and put up with months of ripping myself a new one every time I did number twos.

I guess I'm not much help other than to say that it DID rectify itself and while that may not happen with everyone it may mean that there may be other options than surgery. I'm pretty sure the reliever creams are ok during pregnancy and I know there is something you can put in a bath (is it salt maybe??) that helps heaps with the pain.

Good luck I hope you get some relief soon

    Hey Lori

With my pregnancy with DD and this time around I get those same horrible pains that you talk about where you want to vomit and pass out as well. I have found it is due to the hormone changes (which slow my digestion down to almost nothing) and also because you get constipated so easily. I also had a bout of it yesterday and it is so painful that I've told DH that I don't need to experience labour as I go through this every couple of weeks.... and yes due to the constipation part you will also be prone to hemorrhoids which I have also had bleed when straining too much...

I have tried everything to help ease the constipation and pain but nothing works so I just deal with the pain once every couple of weeks and then I'm fine and move on til the next bout arrives. Luckily it seemed to subside after DD was born but would re-occur every once and a while just like irritable bowel syndrome..

    Hi Possums, BugsMum and Kelly,

Thanks for the messages. Kelly it is good to know that even though you have had recurring bouts it has eased enough in between for you to be able to get on with life for a couple of weeks. I just had a lie down for an hour and when I got up the pain came back extreme but it eased alot as soon as I lay flat on my back again so I just stayed in bed for another hour and then got up and was okay - the pain is tolerable.

Now I'm wondering if I should have cancelled my work for tomorrow but I know how hard it is for the parents as they then need to try to organise other childcare or take the day off work. I'm just hoping I feel okay by 6.30 tomorrow morning (working 6.30am to 6pm tomorrow).

Gotta ring my Nan to wish her a happy birthday and I feel so crappy but hopefully she won't notice as I don't want to have to explain anything to her. She also doesn't know I am pregnant or that I have been undergoing IVF etc. Figure there was no point telling her until I could no longer hide it as she has alzheimers (however it's spelt) and I don't want to confuse her.

I have read that internal hemorrhoids often fix themselves in time so I'm hoping the surgery team might just investigate to check that is definately all it is and then let them go.

I've had the same thing Lori, 3 times in the past 3 weeks, but only the first one was as bad as theone you described. Exactly the same! I get it fairly often if I eat gluten (I'm coeliac), but this one lingered for a few days and I did bleed quite a bit. I asked my dr and he said it's not usual for pregnancy, but the constipation is, and they might be linked. He said it sounds more like the symptoms of irritable bowel and I have to collect a stool sample (ewww!) next time I have it. I hope you are feeling better now, and I'm glad that everything seems ok with bubs at least.

Hello ladies! I hope you don't mind me joining this thread
I got my first ever BFP last Sunday 2nd Jan after 3 rounds of IVF! I am currently approximately 5 and a bit weeks pregnant!!
I am super excited to begin this journey and like many of you, I'm very nervous as well. I had morning sickness for about 5 days straight, now it has eased right off. That got me worried so I did another HPT yesterday to ease my mind (crazy i know) and of course it was SUPER SUPER dark and the line came up right away. I guess everybody is different hey? I guess I'm just lucky that the sick feeling went away (hopefully it won't come back with a vengeance!) I have been extraordinarily tired though and really hungry all the time. I have noticed my sense of smell has increased too and my belly looks thicker around the middle. So here's hoping we all have a very happy and healthy pregnancy...can't wait to share this journey with you all!!
