Oh Grub - the IL's!!! What a nightmare. When she says 'coming to help' does that mean staying with you? I can't believe someone would think that's ok. Maybe maybe maybe if it was your mum, but not his. My SIL said she was going to come and stay when I had DS, but I laughed straight away before she even got the chance to take the thought seriously. I said we'd like to figure it out on our own. I think if you can manage to stand up to them, you need to tell them 'no'. Can you just be honest and say that you appreciate the offer of help but will just feel stressed having extra people in the house. Can you get them to help in some other way? Stay in a hotel and come and take your toddler out for day trips??? I don't know - good luck!!!
And thanks for the lovely parenting reminder too. DS has been such a handful lately - exploring his independence and testing boundaries - to put it very nicely. It's so so nice to be reminded how lucky we are and how special they are (although I am reminded every time I look at him really). It's funny how we wish the weeks away throughout pregnancy and then wish them to slow down once they are here.
Airline - you sound like you are getting so close to the end. What a travel dilemma though. Routine-wise I think it would be a great time to travel - as they don't really have much of a routine by that time - it's mostly just sleep, eat, poo, rinse and repeat. Can you put off the decision till bub arrives? Leave the ironing and enjoy your last few weeks of quiet!
Jaki - good luck with all your appointments. Hope there's no surprises there
Mindhugs - Yay for not barfing! How exciting. How did your OB app go?
Kelly - God you must be feeling the weight of those little ones now. I know there's nothing I can say to make you feel any better, but I feel for you so much.
Possums - about the sushi - I think the rice is a big issue as it's a common spot for bacteria to grow. Just ask them when the rice was cooked initially - and go with your gut. Yum - let us know how it tasted - if you do it. Good on you for the hair too - I cut mine off not long ago too. Are you dark or fair?
Hello everyone else. Hope you are enjoying this special time.
AFM - nothing new. Still no movements! Rrraaa. Had a phone call from MIL before to tell me how much she misses her 'other' grandson - not my DS who she hasn't seen in ages, and even then only because I came to her. She went on for about 10 minutes telling me how much she misses him without once asking about my DS or my pregnancy. My SIL is also pg and due at the same time as me - the favouritism is going to be even more obvious with babies the same age. Rrraaa - In laws!!!!
