had a talk with an ob today and feel much better about things. she was great and my mw came with me, which was even better as dh had to stay home with ds. basically i only have a small cystocele and it should improve post bub. but i will probably find it plays up again during menopause. I basically need to become the queen of pelvic floor exercises for the rest of my life. which i can live with. I can still have a vaginal birth, still have a water birth and still romance my dh lol. It was caused by DS's labour... basically my muscle/ligament tore between my bladder and vag and the weight of this pregnancy cuased it to collapse. Not much could have been done to prevent the collapse or the original damage so that makes me feel better, not sure why tho lol..
anyhoo, i asked her if there was a bubs there... apparently my cervix is still closed but she could easily feel the head sitting very low. c'mon kid, time to leave now! 38 weeks on thursday.

Hey ladies, thanks for all your advice! Well my head is clear now, i asked the midwife why i was going to see the DR and she said your not high risk (thank god) but its just a routine thing that we do with all IVF patients for you to see the DR the one time so that they can look over everything, so the DR did that and said everything is fine and i can have a normal midwife care. Last time the nurse was older and a bit more abrupt where as this one made me feel more comfortable. Just loved hearing bubs heart beat again!!!! I asked the DR if it was ok for me to have one last ultrasound in the third trimester and she said if it makes me feel more comfortable then for sure. I personally thing 22 weeks is a long time to go with out a ultrasound (for us ladies going public) so i think i will have one just so i know bub is ok and the placenta hasn't moved or anything.
So glad your ultrasounds went well today ladies!!! its so exciting to see that beautiful little blob with a healthy heart beat isn't it!

MH - you are making me feel so disorganised. My nursery is a VERY long way from being ready - I keep the door shut so I don't get the guilts every time I walk past. Baby clothes - I think they might be in my mum's roof??? And a bag packed - wow! You are on top of things girl. Good on you. Hope your cruisy holiday feeling lingers

Possums - Nice work on the GD results! Can't help at all with the clexane problem though, sorry. I did a calmbirth course last time and loved it - isn't it so interesting! I have to try and find the CDs and start practising again (great - another thing to try and fit in!). Hope you feel better on a bit of iron. I take floradix which doesn't um, block me up at all. It's liquid from the health food shop

Grub - I have an image of you waddling - you poor thing. But you are NEXT IN LINE!!! It is so so so close now. Ahhhhhhh - are you nervous? Or just too tired to feel any anxiety? (Squeeze, hold, relax - you've got me started on the pelvic floors now - thanks)
Oneday - which OB did you see? I have seen Dr Porteous a few times and find her lovely. She seems to have a really good attitude and not just treat you as a number. I think with going public you have to make sure you take charge of your own care and really make your wishes heard, but they are generally pretty responsive and appreciative of it (in my massive experience of one baby). Those sporadic movements are a killer for the nerves, aren't they. I even went to the hospital at 23 weeks because I was sure it was all over. I just looked like a paranoid preggo though. Hope you get some more jabs soon!
Aimee - I haven't even thought about a name yet either. I know it's a very very important thing to do and I must really get to it, but I haven't even opened a book yet. The most research I've done is reading the names in movie or TV show credits. And I think remembering your little would-be-baby is a beautiful idea.
Kelly D - how do you find the time to drop in here? Glad your boys are bringing you happiness - if not a lot of sleep! Thanks for the advice re the chiro too

AFM - not sure if I told you that they put me onto insulin last week for my GD. Bummer! It's not the jabbing that I have a problem with - I've done plenty of that. I was just worried because they will almost certainly induce me early again. BUT, after talking to the OB at the hospital, they might consider letting me go a little bit longer this time if scans show normal growth and healthy bub, so might not stress too much yet. I think I might start seeing an acupuncturist again soon as well. She might be able to do something to bring things on naturally if they start talking induction.
I was a bit annoyed at DH's reaction to it all - he was saying that it was pretty good because it was quick and we didn't have to worry about giving birth on the side of the road and all those worries, but he didn't seem to get that I want those normal worries this time. Anyway - I've rambled enough. At the end of the day I just want a healthy baby - however it has to happen.
Oh no - one more thing - did anyone do birth courses or books or any preparation for baby number 2? Am feeling extremely underprepared.
bbllaahahhah still here. yep kaybee too over it to be nervous. was supposed to go out for coffee this morn but don't think i'm going. too tired. lounge looks good instead.

kaybee- sorry DH doesnt fully understand your desire for a more natural lead into the birth this time round. I hope that with monitoring etc you can go a bit longer this time...how early were you induced with DS? glad you are managing the injections ok

depending how our baby is growing it has been mentioned i might need to be induced at 38 weeks. so will see how things go.

Kaybee - oh no sorry to hear about the GD, I think it can be hard for them to understand things like that sometimes, i agree that in the end it doesn't matter how baby arrives but its hard when your motherly instincts are wanting things to happen a certain way.
afm - thankyou for the support am feeling much better and have had a terribly productive day, but still so much to do to get all my cupboards and routines well organised before baby comes. I just realised i haven't bought any nappies yet - eek - we normally get the huggies newborn ones when they are on special, but I must be off my game a bit this time. I think nesting has kicked in a strange sense of urgency to have everything done before bub arrives. so much to do.
I think someone asked how far along I was, sorry I can't remember who , I haven't figured out how to work the tickers yet, I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow
am at home freezing today! am desperate to throw on a big comfy jumper but have not been able to find one in maternity size. Has anyone had any luck with finding maternity jumpers. Until then I guess I'll do the housewife thing and wear my dressing gown!
hi aimee- glad you are getting things done and I know what you mean about the nesting urge! I feel constantly driven to clean and get things sorted, and am a bit anxious about all we are yet to do. i have had trouble finding good maternity jumper or jacket too...ammaking do with some bigger ones i already had at the moment.
afm- today's scan showed our boy is growing well! we'll have monthly checks from here...his feet were next to his face, but we did manage to get a side profile pic :-) he measures just below average at this point, and amniotic fluid on the low side, but overall they were happy with his progress (especially given I am not a big person anyway). He's still head down and the sonographer thinks he will probably stay that way now. so all on track. Yay!
Aimee I dont think thats silly. Hope you did made a cake. We havent really sat down and had a good go at going through names. I have a couple I'm keen on but not sure if DP will like them.

Mindhugs we havent done anything with the nursery yet. Thinking about getting someone to come paint it for us and DD rooms. Have though about bag, but thats as far as Ive gone.

Glad you had a midwife that explained things this time oneday and an extra scan would be great. I get to see bub at each ob visit as Im private and I know I would need the reassurance if I was a public patient.
Kaybee I was induced with DD as she was overdue so I understand where you are coming from want to experience water breaking and going through the process etc. I havent done classes this time.
Sorry read as far as up to yesterday and have to go. Really need to bath DD.
Trishy - I don't think I will do classes this time either (doubt I could find the time if I wanted to). Your nursery prep is at about the same stage as mine. Can't really do much until it's painted, otherwise you just have to move it all again. I'd rather wash things after the paint job too. How are you feeling this week?
Does anyone know any good books to prepare for birth / labour and all that. Or maybe it's best to just not think about it at all. What do you guys reckon?
Aimee - I think the housewife compulsory uniform is a dressing gown, isn't it? The first things on my list of stuff to buy to get ready for baby are dressing gown, PJs and trackies. Essentials. I guess I should write nappies on there too at some point. Haven't found any maternity jumpers, but have been wearing long woollen cardie type things and just bought a big hoodie that was a size too big. My belly still isn't that big so stuff still seems to fit.
Possums - I'm so happy that your scan showed everything was still going well. Good to hear he's head down already - I think it's comfier that way too (except for the odd foot in your rib).
Grub - any movement yet? Have you started all the old wives tale remedies for getting bub out yet? Are you doing anything to get your, um, bajingo ready for the grand opening? Anyway, back to the lounge girl and take it nice and easy
AFM - I think it;s a bit of a common theme in here. Feeling a very very strong urge to nest and get things ready, but can't get stuck into it yet. DH is going to paint the room first so I'm waaaaiiitttiiinnngggg for that to happen. Think I want to buy a bassinet too so bub can sleep near me for a few weeks. Any ideas on where to get a cheapie? Babies are noisy and our house is tiny so he/she will be in their own room before long anyway.

kaybee - no. do you mean perineum (sp) massage? i didn't do it with ds and have read it's good for 1st timers so just really couldn't be bothered. lol. i do take my raspberry leaf tea and tablets and do pelvic floor exercises but that's it.
ugh, well it's nearly 8.30pm on a friday... that means my bedtime.
Kaybee I havent even reviewed the books I had first time round. I read up the duff and I forgot the name of the other one. Ignorance is bliss, well not that I dont know whats going to happen. But I havent really thought to hard about it, except for an odd moment or two when I was in hospital getting hydrated and a bit depressed and then I freaked out

Feeling okish. I go from a mix of say vomiting once or twice a week. Extreme intergestion. The dizzy spells, to feeling great. Today I feel great so went out with my mum.
trishy: hoping all is going well, as for those books the up the duff one is a big book to read, lol. i've never read it cause it just looks too hard for me. my time is precious and i choose what i read. indigestion is horrible, i've heard acupuncture can help?. good luck to you. i will have a great time with my sis thanks. x
grub: you're doing a good job atm, sending you lots of good luck and hope your sleep is getting better. x kaybee: i'd try target or something or secondhand basinette and then just get a new mattress. they are usually only in basinette for 5 to 6 months anyways. we used my DH parents one they had and it was a wicker one and was great. we just got new mattress as i think it was 50 years old. ha ha. good luck with painting and nesting. x x

afm: well i am 10 weeks now !!!! yipeeeeeeee, i had a doc app yesterday just to get my next scan booked, which they are doing at 11 weeks so less than one week to go now. i am so so excited.
i thought to myself last night ï am pregnant" wow it is starting to sink in.
one of my feinds said i'm looking good for someone who is 16 weeks, i said no only 10 weeks :-(. sad face. i am popping out already ?!
i am still feeling sick a lot and tired too, i have sore gums and have been doing salt mouth wash to try to help with pain as i won't take anything but some panadol.
so scan in 6 days now and then off to other end of state for my sisters weekend..... i cant wait.....
Am home alone this weekend feeling a bit lonely as DH is playing sport, he doesn't go out too much alone so I don't mind, and we would go watch him but its a bit cold and DD was up vomiting last night with a temp and wants to lie down and watch dvd's poor little chicken.
Sorry thats my rant, had my midwife appt on Thursday and this is my first bub to have their head down ready to do, but after 2 c-setions close together OB thinks its to risky to have a VBA2C! Am into single digits now only 9 1/2weeks to go!!!
