kaybee: i'd try target or something or secondhand basinette and then just get a new mattress. they are usually only in basinette for 5 to 6 months anyways. we used my DH parents one they had and it was a wicker one and was great. we just got new mattress as i think it was 50 years old. ha ha. good luck with painting and nesting. x x
