Angelfish - i'm so sorry you are having such a hard time with your b/f, i hope you know you have whole bunch of ladies here to listen to and support you when you need it. As for the m/s, i am about 8 weeks at the moment and the end of last week my m/s completely disappeared for 2 days and i started to worry and then it came back 10 fold and i have been pretty much in bed since so i wouldn't read too much into it.
TFAF - great news on your scan. Its great to see your hubby is so excited. Do you think he will be down the 'business' end when the baby arrives with the video camera in hand?
AFM - i have my scan tomorrow after my initial scan only showed the egg sac. I am crossing my fingers that everything is ok. I really hate waiting!
Angelfish – hope you are able to rest now with the house a bit quieter and no angry monsters coming home from work complaining about messes. Your b/f needs to make up some MAJOR brownie points for his attitude lately. Really, what's more important in the big scheme of things? Your baby is needing your energy right now, not later, but now. I noticed you posted at 4am. You really must be having some grief today with your symptoms.
Audax – I’m glad your scan went well. Is that really a pic of your little one, on your signature? How many weeks is that? Hope your energy picks up a bit.
Tegam - I think to aleviate the worry, we need increased access to U/S. I’m thinking of asking my GP for extra U/S along the way if I ever get too anxious.
Mummyof4 – how did your scan go today? Sucks that this can be a rollercoaster of worries. Hope that you have had some relief with all good news.
My scan went great today!! i was a bit of a mess when i got there stuipd tho i could feel bubby kicking away!
Everything measures perfect and there is nothing to be worried about!
And bub even let us see his little boy bits!!!
thanks so much for your support. it means alot to know i dont have to do this alone!
TFAF - The pic in my sig is from the 12 week scan! Baby was not so gracious this time round, and the pics are nowhere near as good - hands permanently in front of its face, maybe trying to get its hair done just right for the glamour shots?!
Bobbie - your post totally confused me. I read it, trying to find where I was up to in this thread, found yours, and thought "no, wait, I already read this." But I was thinking of the BoyTown (Belly Buddies) post.
Thank you everyone for always listening to me everyone here seems so sweet and understanding. So i bought one of those cheap dopplers last time i was pg and never got a chance to use it i am 10 weeks today so i thought that i would give it a try and i think that i heard the babys hb i am so hopping it was not something else i could not belive it i lisnted for 10 mins and it sounded like one so i am so happy. But i know that everything can take a turn for the worse at any moment so i had to calm myself down. I called my b/f and he said i have heard a baby's hb on my other two kids what do i have to come home and listen for?
Hoping: YAY!! That's such good news, must be a massive relief!
Angelfish: Your b/f doesn't sound like the most understanding person, I hope you guys can work something out so you feel more supported.
Dory: I LOVE seeing your ticker click over, so awesome I'm sorry about your furbaby's big trip to the vet. George has been so annoying lately I'd happily give him to someone else for 3 weeks! DH was home on school holidays so he got stacks of attention and love and now it's back to just us being at home and I don't let him sleep on my belly and knead my chest, or bite my hands or attack my feet - I'm just NO FUN for that cat anymore! I used to love him sleeping on me, but then with MS it just got too much! And my grandma just sent a toy tiger she knitted to us (soooo cute!) and George is very unhappy that I wont let him rip it's nose off! Such a mean mummy I am now, LOL! Yesterday I called him and he looked at me and then turned his back with his tail swishing away like crazy, he sure manages to make his feelings known! I'm hoping in another week or two I wont be as sick and I'll have more energy to give him (he's in the corner at the moment ripping up the wrapping the tiger came in, I'm willing to let it go in order give the toy tiger some peace!)
Eliselouise: Your so close! EEeeee!
Audax: You left work yet hon?
AFM - 1st OB appointment booked for 5th August, I'll be almost 17 weeks, really really hoping the ob has an ultrasound in their rooms! Well, firstly I'm hoping that Tiger is doing fabulously, then I hope I get see him/her doing fabulously. MS is still making an appearance, I was very silly and had fish and chips last night so had a rough night and morning with MS, and still getting some very sore boobage! I don't know if I've felt movement yet, when I lie down on my side I can feel a sort of squirmy nudge thing happening, but can't be certain it's Tiger given the extremely high potential that it's gas. I get pain in my groin sometimes though, and maybe some round ligament pain? On bellybuddies some ppl said that when they have pain in their groin that it was the baby being down low? I have two big pieces of news - 1st day of the SECOND TRIMESTER today! Which is just happy craziness. AND I brought my first pair of maternity jeans, cos mine were getting so uncomfy that I started wearing DH's and he's 6''2 and I'm definitely not, so I looked kinda silly! I've also learn not to ask DH's opinion of maternity dresses - ''that's a pretty sack''. Must go do some study while I'm awake - there aint that many hours in the day when I am!
Time for a family - thanks for the info on the pins and needles. Most of the time it is the little and ring fingers. Sometimes the middle, index and thumb. I tend to get it when I have been lying on my side.... so like you suggested... to me that's indicative of compression. AWESOME NEWS about your scan..... that it just so good. LOL re DH and the camera.
Mo4 - hoping your scan went well today..... I am hoping you get some nice reassuring news and not repeat. Big hugs my love.
Hoping - good luck with your tomorrow. Sweetie - I am with the rest of the girls... as exciting as scans are theoretically, for anyone who's suffered loss, they are like walking on a precipice, just waiting for news we don't want to hear. There's not much that I found to help with the anxiety. Although I like the strategy of being so distracted by being late, that there was no time to remember to be anxious. I always felt sick before a scan and worse before every single Obs appointment ( and I was having them every week to two weeks, so for me there didn't seem to be any escape from the anxiety and tension). The progression of the pregnancy has eased some of that sense of foreboding, it doesn't mean I feel confident in bringing bubs home. Sometimes that makes me so sad... but if it does happen, it will make that time even more special.
AFM - had my 2 hour GTT today and didn't feel sick but did feel dizzy most of the time. Oh well... so on that basis I didn't even ask if I could wait in the car, I just stayed in the waiting room just in case I fainted or got sick. Lukcily it wasn't too busy either and no one who seemed obviously sick came in. Baby really started to move around about 30 mins after the drink(75grams of glucose). Disco baby! But it was reasurring as bubs has been a bit quieter the past two days. I will get the results either tomorrow ( the Obs rooms will call them through if there's something I need to know) or get them on Friday at my next appointment.
Only 2 more sleeps til the furbaby goes in for the 3 week treatment where I can't visit. I am still going to miss the little mischief, but am now at the point, that the sooner it starts the sooner it will be over.
HPL - 30 weeks my friend. I can not believe that number applies to me. 10 weeks to go. 3/4 of the way there. Wow, at times I am just speechless. Hope you're well.
Angel - good for you for being strong in yourself. Just remember you are worthy of respect and you can give yourself that, permission to respect yourself and take care of yourself.
Crumpet - thinking of you.
Hiya to those I have missed. Take care. Look after yourselves.
Mo4 congratulations on your scan im glad everything went well and woo hoo to a little boy, very exciting news Dory glad the GT wasnt too bad and that noone came in too sick, i always think that too while im in the waiting rooms, all these yucky germs. Hopefully the time your furbaby is away goes nice and quick for you and just think then youll be 3 weeks closer to meeting your little one.
Hello to everyone else ive missed and Good luck to all of you with scans coming up. AFM had a Drs appt today and she confirmed what i had been thinking and feeling, bubs is head down! That makes it seem all that much closer to meeting our little man. I thought my belly shape had changed and im also feeling kicks and movement in different places. Everything else is really good other than this pesky heartburn/reflux but she suggested Mylanta so ill give that a go and hopefully it helps.
Take care everyone
MO4 - get news, little boys are just so much fun. My little man is 18 months old and he brings a smile to my face every day.
Dory - i like the idea of being late to keep my mind off things, i will definately have to try that one.
AFM - Well we have a heart beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bubs is measuring 8 weeks and 4 days and a heart beat of 171. I was so relieved when the doctor said 'we've got some action here' and i could actually see the little heart beating. I'm so happy that everything is looking good but also so scared that it could all fall apart again.
Hoping thats great news, so happy for you. I know how scary it all seems but hopefully time flies by and before you know it youll have that little bub in your arms.
