Ferrals - The wind is the WORST! I agree about teaching them to sleep around regular household noises too... so important. I do catch myself whispering though if Axel has been particularly screamy and finally goes to sleep. When should I start tummy time? He spends a lot of time on MY tummy lol. I must say I'm dealing with the chucking pretty well. I always thought it would gross me right out, but it just doesn't bother me. I too keep a cloth nappy on hand lol. Thing is he didn't used to chuck at all, and now he's doing it most feeds, sometimes multiple times. Oh and you are so right about m/s. I used to refer to it as 'the all day hangover'. Ewww I don't miss that! Congrats on getting Ella to sleep in her own room! I dare not try to get Axel into his room...... plus it's cold and I don't want to drag my butt out of my room... lol. Last night I had everything I needed for nappy changes, his wind drops, the clock radio with music playing all night and a warm bottle on standby in my warmer bag. LOL. It made things easier being able to just roll over, pick up my little man and do everything I needed to without even standing up. Poor DP was banished to sleep on the spare mattress though lol. How many hours of solid sleep are you getting?
Damprye - I have spoken to the 'professionals' involved. They all came to see me during my hospital stay. Well most of them. But talking to them isn't going to solve anything. I need to take it further, so something is done about it. Policies need to be changed, especially when it comes to allowing any old joe blow to just wander into your room and badger you for the hot gossip. Disgraceful. I was recovering from major surgery, and a brush with death, and these idiots just wanted to chit chat. All in all though I'm feeling okay. I'm still angry about a few things, but mentally I feel strong and I'm not going to let this define me, or destroy me. My goal is just to make sure other women (especially first timers) don't have to go through what I did. I know I can't change what happened, but I feel so ripped off sometimes that everything I wanted for his birth was completely destroyed, and the following weeks after. Ok enough of my rambling... love the dinosaur ticker. I can't believe you're 22wks!
Cheezelmonster - Oh you poor thing. Gingernut biscuits helped me, I don't know if you've tried it.
Alish - LOL, after last week's hospital dramas I walked out of there saying to DP I was ready to go on a rampage :) They can't get anything right, even simple things. You'd think knowing what happened and how unimpressed I was with their 'service' that they'd be very careful not to stuff anything else up. Not saying I'm special or anything, but seriously..... do they really want to make the situation worse?? I'm already making a formal complaint. Geeez! I've had enough dodgy treatment, how about they send me some of the good doctors everyone else seems to be getting lol
Tegam - Good luck with the outlaws lol
Pash - Thanks :) I can't believe Axel is 5wks old tomorrow... crazy. Almost at the golden 6 week mark, yay! I have a sling, not a hugabub but it does help a lot. Sounds like some extreme travelling you're doing there.. I'm insanely jealous. I've never left the country so it sounds like you're having a real adventure!
Wannabemum - Oh yay, great news. :) This bubby will see the world!
AFM - Tireddddd!!!! Axel will hopefully be getting his final cast taken off today for his clubfoot. We have our FX that he doesn't need another one and can get his boots and bars fitted straight away. No surgery required, which is great because I didn't intend on letting them touch him and would have had to go to Brisbane. I also have an appointment to see the healthy hearing lady AGAIN today. She called to apologise and explain how last week's stuff up happened. She blamed the other staff and said she told them she would be back, and for them not to let me leave. Apparently I missed her by 5 minutes. Also she left all her stuff, lunchbag etc in her office, and the other ladies even looked in there and said 'no she's closed for the day and gone home'. Umm without her stuff? And without locking up? WTF. I swear they only employ idiots, and other idiots who blame the original idiots. LOL. I don't even have the energy to pretend to like them anymore. Call me a cranky pants but I'm just so over it. So, yet again I have to go up to the maternity ward. *shudder* It upsets me just walking those hallways. So many awful memories. :( Let's hope this is the last time. If they screw this up again I'm going to punch someone, I swear. Last time I used some choice language as I walked out of there..... Wish us luck!!
