forshelby~ i am so excited for you that the time is getting closer.
Ferrals~ i loved the nesting feeling my place got so clean i felt better after doing that.
alish~I had the same debate inside about a cradle and we do have one and it had come in handy. So that the LO can sleep in the same room for when they wake the frist few weeks. the cradle that we have actually was made for my bf when he was a baby and has been passed along.
AFM~ Honor is doing well she is starting to sleep almost all the way though the night.I got my frist actually smile today and not gas. We have a routine now call me lazy but about 2 in the afternoon Honor will cry i will feed her she will wake if i put her down she wants to take a nap with me it the best part of the day.

ferrals - wow! nesting indeed! i bet youre buggared! good effort!
yeah i think im going to give the bassinette a miss, as much as hers is so beautiful i just dont think ill use it, our cot is so gorgeous it would seem a waste, our room is big enough to put the cot in anyway if we really have to

forshelby ahhh 10 days!! eek! how nice of your friends

mmm my housework didnt get too far, my friend came over about 11 and has just left so im starving & then ill get back into it

angel - yay for sleeping through the night, i bet youre feeling better, not as tired etc etc.. and yay for first smiles i would cry lol

OMG - it is SOOOOOO exciting hearing Forshelby and Ferrals on their countdowns.....

Forshelby - I recommend that nipple cream too, though it can help promote nipple thrush ( warm moist environment)... I just used it when I needed it rather than every time. God it was a lifesaver. It's ok to be antsy..... just go with it. And I love the cake... those friends are keepers. Good that the flu is easing.

Ferrals - love the belly girl.... I just love the idea that little Ella is in there and almost ready to come out. Hope you have an easier time BF'ing this time around.

Reet - too funny about little YOGI.

Cheshire - good to see you're still checking up on us.

Stoked - good to see you're still following too.

Alish - yay for 1st trimester completed! And all the sexies. My poor DH was on a drought from weeks 10 to 37... poor bugger. I LOVE our bassinette.. Hannah still uses it. Her bedroom is at the other end of the house and we don't have a monitor yet, so bassinette works a treat. I like it as she's close by. Initially you'll find it hard to sleep with bubs close by as they are quite noisy in their sleep, farts included. LOL. But you get used to it. I like being able to reach out and touch her if she's starting to fuss, as she usually goes back to sleep. I like not having to bolt to the other end of the house if she wakes up screaming ( she usually doesn't wake up crying or screaming). I like being able to peer over at her in the mornings and either see her fast asleep or smiling up at me. So I'd recommend one if you afford it. But be sure to get some mattress protectors! Poonami's can strike at any time. Her bassinette is also on wheels, so when she was little we could trundle her around to be near us. The other thing? They are so tiny when newborn that putting them in a big cot just seems, like there's too much space. Well I thought that. In the end it just works for us, but we all have to find our own way.

Kell - GL with your scan....

Got to go, not having a very successful attempt at our afternoon nap.... again.

Kell- I think my dh will die not getting any for 6 weeks after baby is born! Oh well...!

Alish-Can understand ur fears and worries! But i think u will be fine DTD.. if ur a bit unsure just tell ur dh that u only want it shallow! I had a bit of a bleed at 14 weeks so it was shallow only for a few weeks til i felt safe enough. And there shld definitely be no pain unless u have thrush or a UTI!
We bought a second hand bassinette. If u can get one cheap or for free i think its a good idea to have one.. i wldnt want to spend heaps on one brand new since baby wont be in it for very long but i honestly dont think i wld be able to sleep without the baby in our room for the first couple months! Ive even bought this thing that baby lays in and can sleep between u in bed.. its like a big soft bottomed thing with cushioned sides.. i wld like to think we will be tough and not have him/her sleep with us but we let our little puppy sleep with us for his first 4 weeks so i know we will definitely be suckers for a tiny little beautiful baby!

Ferrals- I hope u slowed down this arvo after ur mad cleaning spree! Ur body was definitely telling u to take it easy. I hope ur tummy is feeling a bit better now and ur not getting any more painful tightenings. No wonder ur all prepared to possibly formula feed, what u went thru b/fing sounds awful and very painful!
And yes i so agree with it being annoying when dh gets touchy feely with the bbs! Mine arent overly sensitive or anything but when he goes need them i just feel like hitting his hands away! I feel like that when he starts having a play down below too.. not sure whats going on with me! We can still manage our top 3 positions.. him on top, me on top and spooning altho the him on top is getting a bit awkward if he forgets about my tum and half lays down on me! Just curious whats the only positon u can do now??
I will definitely be getting myself some of the lanshilo then! Just from the chemist??

Forshelby- Thanks for offering to send me some of the gel pads but we have a bras n things here.. hopefully they stock them! Are they actually meant for sore bbs from b/fing??
That is so so nice of ur friends to bring the cake over! They are definitely keepers! I hope u let urself have some

    Hi Dory and Angelfish!

AFM- Had a good old time baby shopping today, didnt actually come home with anything but we know what we want now. Only problem is its so expensive! The cot we chose is $770, change table $300, and the pram $500. The cot we want is just beautiful. Its white and has 4 posts with lovely fine netting around it, it looks so pretty and cosey! (we also have mozzies here so the netting will keep them away!) And the pram is the Baby jogger City Mini, we wld LOVE to get the City Elite instead but its $900 and we cant quite justify it! (or afford it!). We decided to think about it all over the weekend and put our order in on monday.. the lady said it cld take up to 6 weeks for the pram and cot to arrive so we better get our butts into gear!

One of dhs cousins had a baby a few days ago and i just found out she had gas, 2 epidurals and pethadine and still really really struggled! It kinda frustrated me hearing that, this chick a few weeks ago had written on fb something about labour and bring on all the drugs.. and thats exactly what she did! I know i shldnt really be commenting cos i dont know how painful labour is but i dont think its the right frame of mind to go into labour with cos ofcourse no amount of drugs is going to help if u go into it thinking u are going to need to be fully dosed up for the whole thing! Am i making sense or just being nasty??! I dont have a birth plan but i wld love to try and get thru as much of labour as possible drug free.. (whether that be only a bit of it or most of it) I think with that frame of mind tho ur more likely to be able to tolerate a bit more pain whereas if ur trying to get drugged up with the first little bits of pain ur definitely going to struggle as the contractions get worse! Plus a lot of ppl arent warned about pethadine.. a lot of the time the baby comes out blue and u can also have trouble feeding for the first few hrs because u have basically drugged ur baby as well.. which is exactly what happened to dhs cousin! My mum has the attitude of the more drugs the better..no point putting up with unnecessary pain, and it really annoys me!
Anyway im just ranting on here, has it made sense tho??!

Reet you have a great attitude. i have had 4 bubs and i tried gas with DD1 and discovered it was much better as a thing to bite on than suck hehe. Child birth is not painful so no drugs needed

Tho some nights when it all goes ferral after dinner...i could use some Gas then to keep a smile on my dial

Reet~ i felt the same way you did when it comes to pain meds ( not putting down women who do use pain meds) But i was in back labor from 5 am till 10 pm and i had one pain shot and they had to talk me into it. They said that the pain was making my bp up so i took it. The only reason i took the epidural is that i got really tired. then the baby heart rate dropped and i needed an emercery c~section. sounds like your shopping went well.

Ferrals~ your time is coming fast when it comes to mommy and baby time. I find that i forget everything else that is going on all the stress is gone. The smile did make me cry she is starting to giggle more in her sleep.

Forshelby~I keep coming on here to check to see how your doing.

Dory~ you are right that they are very nosiey when they sleep. Honor will start to cry then stop make sounds that i have never heard before. She will sound like she is yelling and toss her hands up in her air.
AFM~ Someone sent me a cause request on Facebook it was about child abuse and it was a bad case and i had nightmares last night. People dont understand that i will do the causes but i need time.

    Morning ladies.
I had tightnings/contractions every 5 minutes for a good 3 hours until they settled they never got any more painful or longer in duration so i new they were not the real deal its just my body telling me to take it easy.

Alish-you just reminded me to do the inside of my fridge i did the outside but the inside is a bit how ya going!

Dory-thanks i hope i get to BF for Ella but if not thats ok i will try my best.
And i know DH and i lay here and feel her move and we talk to her and we cant believe it is only 12 days until we get to meet her.

Reet-the only position that is comfortable at this stage of pregnancy is me on my back at the end of the bed with DH standing dont get me wrong i like that postion as DH has great access to do lot's but just doing that same position is getting boreing i can get on top for a bit but i had knee surgery in 2009 and it get sore after a while with this extra weight and DH on top LOL he is a typical ex footballer built like a brick sh#thouse with a huge broad back and shoulders with little bum and legs but since he is not working has put on 10kgs and all around the belly so his belly is as big as mine no chance for on top action lol.
And save money dont get the change table and put that money towards the pram you get way more use from a pram then a change table think about it the pram will be used for about 3 years where the change table ends up being used for storeage i have had one with all my kids and only because it comes in the package but i have never liked changing babies on them it is easier to do it on our bed or the floor i use our change table to store nappies wipes bath stuff and thats about it and when bub is on the floor you can get up and go get something without worring bub will fall.
And my 1st labour i had everything because it was soooo long 26 hours and bub was distressed and my BP was 200/150 so they tried to relax me to bring all that under control it all wore off by the time i was ready to push so the 2nd and 3rd stage were natural and drug free my other births were drug free all the way and not as painful just really uncomfortable more than anything so i suppose everyone has different experiences and different pain thresholds.

Tegam-I will I will i dont know what got into me yesterday but my house looks lovely now just to keep the kids from undoing it all.
Love the comment on the nights that go ferral lol that is why my boys got the nickname ferrals 3 they were not naughty they were good kids but they got into everything and caused plenty of mayhem the 3 of them never got bored together.

Angel-sorry you had nightmares must have been pretty awful reading that case.

ferrals~ your right about the changing table. I dont have a changing table i feel safer changer her on the floor i dont care what anyone thinks about that. I have gotten looks when i say i dont have one

Yes that case was horrible the 2 year old was abused for awhile by her moms bf and her dad was away in the war three days before he came back home her moms bf and a friend had killed her by tossing her in the air and letting her hit the floor and come to find out she had been molested sorry for being so graphic but they went more into it.

    hiiii everyone!

well we dtd and it was fine haha! im a bit sore but i have a sensitive area down there! poor dh didnt last very long hahahahahahah!

reet - thats a great attitude to have, i remember when i was 14 and my sil was having my nephew all i could hear was screaming and i cant do this and i was like omg im never having kids EVER! but im not sure if she even took anything for the pain, i think my sister did, im going to try not too but im a big sook for pain so i dont really know

oh my god angelfish i know the one youre talking about i balled my eyes out, plus it was right after i lost baby #1 so it was just too much, what kind of people could do that?

ferrals - i still havent cleaned the fridge haha! im not going to either :P

i keep having dreams everynight that im having a boy! does anyone analyse dreams or believe in that sorta stuff? although, the baby was not dh's in the dream i had last night, whoops haha!

REET - those things you put in your bed are on catch of the day right now for $19.95! if youre interested i love that website

Reet - Mildez will probably have something to say about pethadine too, but it depresses the baby's respiration.. personally I would try to avoid it.

Forhselby - oh sweetie - this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO exciting. Hugs, I know it's tough for you right now. At least the weather is more bearable.

Alish - thanks for noticing, I have been down.... hard times emotionally at the moment, coupled with both Hannah and I having a cold. I realised just how glum I have been when I just felt so happy today, and realised that was more like my normal self. Mojo is back!

Angel - glad that Honor is sleeping well, it makes the world of difference.

You guys are crazy with your nesting... I never really got it, but then even if I did, nothing I could really do about it. LOL, making up for it now. Speaking of which - time to go and do more housework or play with H.

Lanisoh is just from the chemist and I would recommend getting the smaller tube.

Wow Ferrals Ella is so strong - thats beautiful that video. are you going to miss being pregnant? or just happy to have her in your arms

Ive only heard bad things about pethidine - i flat out refused to have anything other than the gas. No way anyone is putting any needle in my spine and not being able to feel half my body i cant think of anything worse. but thats just me i know everyone is different and has diff pain thresholds

My change table i never used either just ended up storage as well lol
I lovvvvve my bassinet and have shared it with my SIL for her bub a few months ago. I needed Ella right next to me but i was scared of rolling on her in the bed so the bassinet was perfect. got about 10 weeks out of it. i couldnt put her that tiny in a big crib. i cant wait too have my son in it too

Reet i know a friend that only lasted 2 weeks and they had done the deed again- i made my DP wait the six weeks out lol. My OB said he had women come back preg at the 6 week check up i was in shock

Yah Dory getting your Mojo back

Come on forshelby we need another new bub to be born in this thread hope its soon for you!!!

ONE MORE SLEEP till we see our little man - no sleep for me tonight i cant wait

Oh Kell- so excited u get to see ur little man again tomoro! And how good is it now that we dont have worry before we go to scans, we can be excited instead! I wish i cld have had the 32 weeks scan, i wld love some more pics! The ob said i wld only need one if my placenta was to low at the 20 wk scan but everything looked fine. Bugger! Is there any reason why ur getting it or is it just routine with ur ob.?? Enjoy every minute of it!
I cant believe ur ob. said some ppl are pg at there 6 wk checkups! I definitely wont be telling dh that! haha. If im feeling good enough and not sore i might give in at 4 weeks but i dont want to risk infection or anything like that. I never want to go back onto the pill cos i think it really stuffed my body up so we will have to be careful not to fall pg too soon!

Ferrals- Oh what a beautiful video! Ella is a strong little girl! I get good movements kinda like that but only up near my right ribs where babys little feet are kicking. Ur whole tummy moves!
U made me laugh so much when u said ur dh on top doesnt really work too well cos his tummy is as big as urs, haha, wont be long til urs will be flat again and u can start to spice things up a bit!

Alish- Woohoo for dtd! Ur lucky dh! I actually prefer for it to be a quickie rather then a longy especially since i havent really been in the mood this whole pregnancy!
Thanks for that website too! I went and had a look, I actually bought myself one of those things a few weeks ago, its a bit different tho. I wish i hadnt bought it now cos it cost me $50 secondhand, $160 brandnew, i cld have gotten a bargain on that website! Oh well...

Dory- Thanks for letting me know u get the nipple cream from the chemist!

Well girls u had almost convinced me not to buy a change table but ive thought about it and i reckon we will use it. Theres no beds close by that i cld change baby on and we let our doggies inside occasionally so i wldnt want to worry about them running off with a pooey nappy or something if i change baby on the floor! The only other flat surface is the kitchen bench and i think i wld rather stay away from that! especially since i havent had much experience changing nappies so it cld get messy! I think i wld also prefer to have nappies, creams, wipes etc all in the one handy spot. In a few months i will probably be saying i shld have listened to u girls but oh well i guess its something i have to realise myself! Thanks for ur input tho

In regards to drugs during labour, im all for it if the drs are recommending it for urs or ur babies wellbeing or if u really feel as though u need something to get thru it. But i just think when u go into labour thinking that u are going to need all the drugs u can get ur hands on thats exactly whats going to happen! Like dhs cousin.. she had to have 2 epidurals cos after the first one she cld still feel pain! I dont think any amount of drugs is going to take the uncomfortableness of labour away!
Kell im with u.. i dont think i wld like to have an epidural and not be able to feel half my body, im someone that likes to feel control of myself! With saying that tho if i had to it wldnt be the end of the world!
Ive told dh all about the bad side effects of pethadine etc so hes pretty against it so i know he will be strong during labour and only allow me to have drugs if he can see that i really really need them or if a dr strongly suggests it.
Even during my m/c i was having really painful contractions every few minutes where i wld be on all 4s in horrible pain.. (i guess it was just like a very mini labour!) my mum was telling me over the phone to take panadol or something stronger to ease the pain but i really didnt want too. I wanted to experience and feel what my body was going thru.. does that sound stupid?! I didnt even wake dh up when i was at my worst at 3am cos i knew there wasnt anything he cld do and i felt as tho it was something i needed to get thru myself. I was always the same with periods too.. i wldnt ever take panadol to ease the cramping etc. cos i liked being able to picture what exactly my body was doing.. like the uterus contracting to expel the blood etc.(haha yes im weird!) Im just hoping i have the same attitude when im in labour!

    Anyway enough rambling from me!

    Nite nite x
