OMG i wrote a post and did some persies and its not there..arrggggg dont you hate that
Im having one of those days and im tired....
My backs actually quiet sore and my stomachs real tight.....anyone have this after scan? do you think its all the prodding and poking she did? the baby was doing flips while she was trying to get shots so i dont think she was too happy...
Reet no we live in the sticks. I was on my way to visit my parents on their property so had been on the dirt road (of the main highway) for about 3kms when it blew. Luckily my Dad heard his mobile which lives in his ute as he was walking past it about to get in his tractor and go bush. Thank the lord as I was even contemplating driving it the way it was (it has a 3" hole in it where I obviously hit a rock on the gravel) I know I could have stuffed the rim but even if I got a few kms closer would have been good. Gee I'd be in trouble if I did do that! I was working on my plan of attack when my Dad answered. The joys of having a massive beast of a vechile I guess. I reckon I could safely lift a small tyre but not one for my vechile.
Dory - Oh yes, can't wait to powder that little bot-bot... lol. So true that it obviously isn't that bad considering how many people have more than one baby. I think the first time would definitely be the most nerve-racking and brutal hehe. I'll be thinking of you and your precious Amelia tomorrow.
Reet - Appointment went well, I was a bit annoyed that the Dr was slightly cranky (with the receptionist) and so was very rush rush and quite impersonal this time. I guess we all have cruddy days.... but yeah. It doesn't feel like a bowling ball between my legs yet, more like a bowling ball on my bladder. I will definitely find the time to answer any questions you have even once I have a newborn to take care of. Afterall, you were here first lol. As for your questions about labour, I think the other ladies have said all I was going to say. But girlfriend, get yourself some books STAT! Hehe You will feel so much more at ease knowing exactly what happens (or usually happens). I do have some book reccomendations. I've read: "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth", "Active Birth", "Kid Wrangling", "The Birth Partner", "What to expect when you're expecting", "Hypnobirthing", and "So you're going to be a Dad". Ok, I've read a lot. And I only read the dad book because one of us should dangit! DP 'doesn't do reading'..... pfffft. I found all of those books really good. Ina May's and Active Birth were particularly enlightening. I can give you the names of the authors too if you like. Also, this may or may not help....... but here's how I look at it. I try not to think of labour as 'pain'. (even though it may very well be excruciating). I'm trying to think of it as just plain old hard work. If I go into it expecting it to be very painful, then it's more likely to be that way. However if I go in there with the most positive mindset I can muster, even though I know there will be pain, it will be productive pain. Every contraction just means i'm closer to holding my baby. We'll see how that holds up in the delivery room, lol.......... but that's the mindset that for now is keeping me from being nervous about the birth.
Possum - Look at your sweet little peach on your ticker..
Alish - The odds are in your favour. Missed mc's are not so common and the fact you still have nausea etc is very encouraging. Also you're right, the odds of mc are lowered after 8 wks, and again after 12. I don't know the statistics... but things are looking good for you. Oh and great work on the stroller, bargain!
Ferrals - Ahh sleep. What's that? LOL, I'm at the point where it's hard to get any decent zzz's when every time I roll I wake right up because I'm too heavy to just flop over onto the other side. Not to mention the sound of my spine/pelvis cracking.. it's SO loud lol. The unknown is the worst part, isn't it?? I'm not afraid of going into labour..... I'm just afraid it'll happen at an inconvenient time
T-Hopes - Wow 24 weeks! Congrats I hope you're feeling better after a good rest........ and I too would be spewing if someone stole our boys name! I have a few up my sleeve though, my favourite of which is (don't laugh) Axel. I don't know why but it was the first boys name to 'jump out' at me and it stuck in my head. Oh and I agree with Dory. Not finding out the sex makes things VERY exciting.... we can't wait to find out whether it's a pink or blue bundle for us!
Mildez - Oh how sucky getting a flat tyre! Glad you didn't have to walk all that distance.
Tegam - Great advice. I'm going to try to think of the first 6 weeks of motherhood as 'boot camp'. Kinda like the first few weeks in a new job. Plus sleep deprivation and there's no training provided lol.
AFM - Getting tireder and tireder by the day. I've had a couple of catnaps already today, and feel like I could go for another one! I suppose I should rest while I can. Not much else is going on..... the Dr says bubby is still reasonably high, not engaged yet, so basically a rebel without a cause. LOL.
reet - it was a sack with the blood pumping through it, like the heart wasnt fully formed yet!
ive been going mental! i couldnt get in and they wouldnt book me in so ive had to deal with it!
dh loved the pram, he never had a choice but im glad he likes it!
thanks forshelby - i know im going to be ok but there is always that doubt, hopefully 3rd times a charm!! p.s 20 days to go wooohooo!
Forshelby...get as many catnaps in as you need...i remember my last pregnancy i would be finishing work and go home and get straight in bed and eat my t in there and then not move...this one im not as lucky coz i have DD wanting me to play with her and read her books lol
Mildez, how are you?
Reet...we have family over in NZ but luckily there not near christchurch....and we were only over there a year ago right in those spots....poor people
How are you going Tegam, hows bubs?
Dory, when DD was small and i knew i should be sleeping i always happened to do everything else and i would say i would go to sleep in a sec...the next minute she was awake again!!!! its very hard
Thopes..Congratualations on the 24 weeks...i cant help you...i was so so so strong until the day we went in for the scan and then i caved..got her to write it on a piece of paper so mum didnt know and then we looked later lol
ATM..im struggling at work these last few days..im really tired and seriously just cant be bothered. The days are taking forever..hopefully i can have a sleep in tomorrow. Tummy is still feeling quiet tight but no bad pains...all the stress's has taken a toll on mum so i hope she doesnt get a panic attack..she normally does a couple weeks after the fact..she is off work today so i hope it doesnt start up her staying in her room and not coming out......bring on lunch..i have been a bit hungry these last few days..think baby is having a growth spirt...oh well im just grateful im heaps smaller than last time
Melster - I used to get a sore back after an u/s mostly because of the awful flat on my back position required. Also, their beds were rock hard. I wouldn't worry too much. I hope you get that much needed sleep in you're wanting.
Alish - That number sounds so small....... I'm going to have a baby in 20 days?
AFM - Well, I decided to go for a tour of the hospital last night. I wasn't nervous................. but NOW I AM!!!!! Just seeing the birthing room made my knees shake lol. DP had to shove me into the room because I was too scared to go in there. Ladies kept asking me how far along I am, (probably because I was the biggest belly in there) and surprisingly one of them was a week ahead of me! I still feel all freaked out just thinking of that room now. I had a dream last night about it, and we had a girl. Now, I have to go and just try to shake off this weird panicky feeling I have. Dangit and I was doing so well, not worried at all.... then I see a hospital room and feel like I might wet my pants in fear.
Forshelby - 20days to go! Bring it on! How exciting! Yeah so annoying that they used the name we love! We havent told anyone other than my sisters and folks so they certainly didnt copy, just a pure conincidence! Sorta hard to explain their connectionn to us, but Dh used to play footy with him and his brother ended up marrying my bestest friend so its my best friends nephew now! Does that make sense? Anyway, disappointing all the same! Axel is cute! I love hearing ppls names!
Anyway big hello to everyone! Im off for a haircut now and a few highlights! Soooo exciting! Its been 12wks so im looking like a troll.... not for long!!
Forshelby: You'll be OK i promise, just go to hospital late if you dont like the feel of it! Or go in a different room!
Mel: We are great thank you! Molly is lovely and 100% happy of she is having a cuddle, lucky for me i can co sleep Sorry to hear you are so tired, baby probably having a growth spurt in there!
Thopes, its been so much longer than 12weeks for me.....and i am not even going to talk about waxing Enjoy the cut!
AFM: Going camping tomorrow....nuts...what could go wrong......
hi melster! im going good, hanging for friday! 2 more sleeps!!
its no fun being tired huh, im so tired now i cant imagine how tired ill be later on! and hungry, ill be a whale soon haha!
glad to hear youre going well though!
forshelby - 19 now! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont be nervous, you will do great and everything will be fine
thopes - how good is getting your hair done, you always feel like a million bucks .... until dh dosent even notice hahaha!
tegam - yay for camping have fun! we are going friday arvo for a night, i have to work on sunday otherwise we would have stayed two!!
Mildez- Oh ur very lucky ur dad heard the mobile ringing!! We've just bought a patrol for our family car.. im not even sure i cld change its tyres not pregnant!! Just looked at ur ticker and it says baby is soon to be head down.. is she head down for u yet do u know?? Im looking forward to my next ob. appointment to see if mine is, i really dont think he/she is yet tho, i dont get any movements below my bellybutton really.. mainly to the sides and ribs.. im thinking its sideways alot.. but really i have no idea whatsoever! I feel like i shld know what body part it is poking out but nope! Arent i hopeless!
Forshelby- The dr was angry at the receptionist and u managed to figure this out?! Wow they shld probably be keeping their little issues to themselves! My ob. rushes things all the time, it really annoys me, a man of very few words. Its like In and out in 2 mins and then ching ching.. goodbye $70! Oh well seeing baby makes it all worthwhile i guess, even if it is only 30 seconds worth!
Oh bowling ball on ur bladder, how awful! I really struggle now if my bladder is a little full and baby goes near it, what an uncomfortable feeling!
Ok ok im going to go to the book store and buy some baby books, i will write down the ones u suggested and buy a couple that look the most appealing to me! My dh wont read either so theres not much point getting any daddy books.
U really do sound terrified of that hospital room! Is it cos its all just white, bare looking and sterile??? Not homely looking at all? Ill be doing the tour in a couple weeks, atleast ill have a few weeks to forget my fears before i go into labour!
I keep thinking ive got 9 weeks to get our house in order etc. but really if ur feeling exhausted and needing catnaps all the time i better get my butt into gear and get it all done very soon! Im sure i will just want to kick back the last few weeks anyway and relax! Are u feeling ready to have the baby?? Theres no little jobs u feel like u need to get done still?? I have got the longest list of things still to do around here, its a bit stressful! I dont know why i feel as though i need to get it all done, its not like im going to be paralysed once this baby comes!
Alish- 2 sleeps 2 sleeps! Soon to be 1 sleep!
Melster- I hope u manage to get a sleep in tomoro! U sound like u need it!
Tegam- Have fun camping! Hope the weather is beautiful! Do u just have 1 big tent to fit u all??? Gosh u wld have to pack a lot of stuff for a family of 6! I struggle with packing for just dh and myself!
AFM- OMG im so over all this creamy CM.. sorry i know its TMI but its so awful! I get out of the shower in the morning and if i dont put a panty liner straight into my knickers they are a mess! Im normally someone that sleeps with nothing on but definitely cant do that anymore! Dh is away at the moment which is probably a good thing, DTD wld be pretty messy i imagine! Im getting pretty over it!
Im starting to miss my boy so much.. hes been away for almost 2 weeks and still has another week to go. I feel really sorry for him too... Hes missing out on seeing our little pup getting bigger plus my growing tummy and all the crazy big movements im getting. Its been ages since hes been away non stop for this long.. i think thats why im finding it hard. His sister is flying in and staying at our place tomoro until monday and bringing 2 of her kids with her so that will be good, some company and a little baby to snuggle with! Shes got 5 kids so im hoping she can shed some light on what the different body parts are that poke out cos like i said to Mildez i have no idea but wld love to know!
reet - dh bought me a liberty wagon last year when we were preg cuz i had a 2 door lancer! that would have been crap to get the baby in and out of that!
where is your dh? away working? it sucks huh, dh used to work in melb and come home on weekends, i was really going insane without him!
look at your belly how cute, how far are you there? youre so tiny!!
my cm was that bad for a while i thought id wet my pants, its not as bad atm but i have my days haha!
Reet-ahhhh! the dreaded drippy vag pretty gross isnt it i have had it the worst with this bub to the point id be shopping and i say to DH ewwww i have to go to the loo it felt like the floodgates have opened mine was bad between 24-34 weeks and only just recently it has settled down and yes it is very hard to sleep naked and getting woken with a drippy bum crack so i had to sleep with undies and liner on also wow the joys of pregnancy mabye i should put that in ella's baby book lol.
Alish-1 more sleep now.
Tegam-have fun camping i dont envy you at all my idea of camping involves a cabin with hot water and toilet fridge ect i am most definately not a camper.
Forshelby-oooh 19 days to go sooo close i have my u/s next thursday to see if i am still having my c section on the 16th part of me wants to so i get to meet my girl sooner and i wont have to worry about her being born and the other part of me wants another natural birth like my last son just over and hour and sooo easy hardly any pain.
AFM-Last night Ella was going crazy in my belly you could see knee's and feet and she would push her back out one side and her feet out the other so DH got the video camera out and filmed it lol so funny she is a real little wriggler i hope she sleeps well once on the outside.
I am having the capsule fitted on monday DH's court hearing tuesday kids doc appointment in sydney on wednesday u/s thursday and OB appointment on friday so i will be very busy next week i think i will sleep all weekend in preparation.
Reet yes my baby is head down. I only get movements down the bottom which must be hands and elbows (I swear she is in my bladder not uterus but) I get alot of tightening up the top of the fundus which I think is her stretching most of the time. I'm told the placenta is on the top of the uterus stretching down the posterior wall (very different from my 19week scan) so perhaps thats why I don't get kicks as its cushioned by the placenta. Either that or she doesn't have legs or they dont work (another thing I stress about) I do get some strong pokes up under my ribs every few days so not regularly and also some weird pokes underneath my underarms but lower if that makes sense. It feels in a very weird spot. I know she is definately head down from the ultrasound I had a week ago. I was half expecting her to be breech but no she is head down where hopefully she will stay.
Ferrals when is your next scan?
OMG its almost March and we have lots of bubbas due then (and April)
Well this morning I witness my DDs guinea pig have babies. Makes our one baby look easy almost in comparison. She had 5! Although I think I could handle 10weeks of pregnancy for an instant family lol
I didn't see your post Ferrals. Your week does sound very busy. You better take it easy if you can. So lovely to hear little miss Ella kicking up a storm in there. She can give my baby some of her beans. Mine still is been very sluggish.
My drippy vag seems pretty dry at the moment. Like ferrals I find the wet bum crack very unpleasant. Thats worse then the other end for me. I constantly feel like I have a damp butt crack.
Alish- Yeah dh works away, hes normally gone for 3 weeks and home for 1... its not normally a full 3 weeks tho, most of the time he comes home for a day here and there between jobs. He works as a communications rigger so he climbs all those big towers that u get ur mobile phone reception from.. Always travelling around everywhere.
I was 29 weeks in that pic... im gonna take some more pics next week, i will probably be double that by then!
1 sleep 1 sleep!!
Ferrals- Oh i hope my drippy vag settles down at around the 34 week mark, that wld be great! The way its going tho i dont think theres any chance! Im just hoping it doesnt turn into thrush, which us far north qlders in the tropics are quite prone to getting, i wld hate to pass it onto our baby on its way out.
U do have a busy week next week, as tiring as they are, atleast the time goes fast when ur busy! U will have ur little girl in ur arms in no time at all! I hope u do manage to have a nice sleepy weekend this weekend.
Mildez- Oh good that ur bubba is head down, lets hope mine is as co-operative! When do u have another scan/ob. appointment?? Mine is next wed and then every 2 weeks til around 36 wks then weekly, yay! I get so excited waiting for ob. appointments!
Wow, i cant believe the guinea pig had 5 babies!!! Thats heaps! Poor mumma, no wonder she was huge! They are so cute when they are first born, bet ur DD was over the moon!
Im so excited for March to be here, then i can say we are having our baby NEXT MONTH!!! Yay!!
I had the itchiest tummy yesterday, it must be doing some serious stretching, lets hope it doesnt result in stretchmarks!
Just a quick one meant to get on yeseterday but ran out of time.
Was thinking of you Dory yesterday and Amelias birthday - hope you had a beautiful day remembering your gorgeous girl
Sending lots of love to Clairesmummy too and more hugs xoxox
10 weeks of preg sounds like bliss Mildez - lucky were not elephants though they are preg for 2 years poor things
Ferrals - what a busy week you have coming up! makes me tired just reading it lol
Alish - is your scan today or tommorow how exciting
Reet - i have no idea what parts are sticking out of me either i can only guess lol. the other morning when i woke i had i think his bum sticking right out. I cant tell between elbows and knees and his kicks are all over the place so i guess hes still got some room that is going to be fast running out soon.
Hope this week goes quick and your man is back soon.
i agree on the creamy CM so yukkkkkk
Tegam have fun camping - where are you going
Forshelby it will be fine - are you in the birth centre or is it the hospital part?
T- hopes - did you get your new haircut
Yah for March and April and our beautiful babies coming into the world how exciting!!!!
