I suffer with this sciatic nerve thing too. During the labourof my 2nd, every time I got the urge to push I would get this shooting pain in my hip which would conteract the contraction & stuffit all up, It took ages to push him out because of it! There was nothing I could do about it at the time either, but this time round I have been told to try a different birthing positon.
