    crazy lower back pain

    hi all,
just wanted to pick your brains about remedies for lower back pain. had it yesterday and it got progressively worse ( i was at work too) to the point where we went to the shops and i waited in the car cause it would have hurt too much to get in and out. its right down low sorta tail bone area. i used a heat pack and got a quick massage off DH but just wondering is there anything else i can do? it seems to be a bit better today.

If it's muscular, you may be able to try voltaren emulgel (however you spell it...lol). Just check with pharmacy first. I have used it whilst BF cos doc said I could cos I had some serious lower back and into my leg pain when Oskar was around 5 months old, so bad I could barely walk. Hope it gets better for you soon!

If it gets any worse or continues you might like to see a physio who specialises in women as low back pain can also be a symptom of pelvic instability. Even if it's not they should be able to give you some exercises/stretches that will help. Hope it's feeling better soon!

    Heya sweet
I'm suffering from what sounds like the exact same thing as you!!!
my pain is low down the back of my spine. I think its part of the pelvic bone. seems to be only one the right side of it (so far)
I think the hormones that relax all the muscles and ligaments have something to do with it!
Ive used a heatpack like you and am yet to try any lotions.
I read on a website the reason for it is that the hormones move the pelvic bone out of its normal position.like with other joints too. Making sure your sitting upright and walking upright is the best thing for it....hopefully it works!!! Ive got one of those gym balls that have been giving me some relief
Keep me posted to see how long it took you to feel better. X

I had that so badly for a while there (has since gone but had a nasty case of sciatica in stead). I found heat packs worked a treat but also making figure 8's with yous hips while standing with your feet about shoulder-width apart. IYKWIM.
Otherwise, try and squeeze as many massages out of DH as possible!! :P

I find walking/running in water (or just floating!) eases my lower back pain.

When I can convince dp to massage my lower back that helps too
