Oh what a relief reading all of these replies.

I got "a look" from the midwife when I was checked up at the hospital at 18 weeks - I was 88 kilos, had gained 5. I told her that I was 5 kilos over what I'd prefer when we conceived, I think that's why she gave me a look. She also recommended I see the hospital dietician. Not nice when I was already feeling down about my body image, as my clothes were really starting to not fit properly and this is my first pregnancy so I'm just getting used to all of the changes.

I know that the midwife was actually trying to be kind - she knew that I was above my ideal weight to start with and had gained a bit already, so was giving me ways of looking after myself and minimising the weight gain - I guess I was being a bit sensitive about it.

It's such a relief reading all the different weight gains that people have had - I now feel normal. Thanks ladies.
