I'm out and about at the moment, doing stuff for the house we're building, and i keep getting dizzy.. So dizzy to the point that i want to sit down and just throw up. And i'm so worried that there is something wrong with bub so worried than each time i think about it, i just cry. I'm 16wk5d today and it's been going on since 16wk2d
Try not to worry LJ, with my first everytime I stood up for ling I got light headed and felt sick and if I didnt sit down it was like I was going to pass out. It was an everyday experience. You would be getting more blood flow going thru too especially as the placenta starts taking over the pgcy. Hang in there honey, you will be fine. hugs If you get too worried go and see your Dr, he/she may want to check your BP etc. Hugs
I felt like that with my second pg - turns out I was iron deficient. Maybe pay a visit to your GP, explain your symptoms and ask for a blood test to check your iron levels.
I hope you are feeling better soon - it is not a nice feeling
Personally I think it is probably just your body trying to say 'take it easy - slow down'. Even everyday things can be tiring so listen to your body & rest up. If it gets worse or persists then see your Ob.
hun there is no harm going to the Drs & getting checked. Even if its only to put your mind at ease.
I'm pretty sure its all normal though.
Thinking of you
LJ I think this is common. If it is stressing you, then maybe go and see the Doc, if anything just for reassurance? And take it easy! You are growing your forever bubble, and that takes its toll on your body. I'll be lurking to see how you go.
thanks all. Little update, tried calling the dr and fully booked until next wednesday (surely that many people can't be sick!) i've got work tonight but there's no way i'd wanna go if i felt like that. I think my body is telling me to take it easy as i've been running around and stressing myself out too much at work.
I still have dizzy spells and for me its mostly due to low blood pressure. Its some thing Ive always had. Also my iron was low. Maybe try putting some lifesavers or something similar in your bag ,just to give your blood sugars a boost till you can get something more nutritional to eat.
Liz - don't go to work, even if you feel better in an hour or so. Rest up on the lounge with your feet up. If you still feel giddy after 24hrs rest call and DEMAND an appointment. Geez, I can't believe some people will expect a pregnant woman to wait a week for an appointment. **Big Hugs**
Liz - I was going to say this in our thread but now that you're obviously worried, I'm going to say it here: You NEED to take it easy!!! Between working at night and doing life stuff in the day, you'll be running yourself to the bone and you have to remember that you have somebody else in there sucking your energy as well.
Even Wonder Woman needed a rest every now and then and I think this is your body's way of telling you that this is your time. And please harass your Dr if this continues. Listen to everyone who posted above me as they obviously know more about this than we do having gone through it before.
Let us know how you're going, okay? And don't you DARE go to work tonight.
My Dr is always booked out for a week - how do people know they will be sick so far in advance??? I complained to her one day and she said to ask the receptionist to open her 'day book' and she will be able to see me. Most Dr's have available appointments for 'emergency's'. Otherwise I tell the receptionist that I will just go to the hospital, they always come back with an appointment for me....
I had a little bit of dizziness as well during this pregnancy. Nothing as bad as you're describing, but Ob said it's normally attributed to low blood pressure or iron levels. You might be able to get a chemist to take your blood pressure for you maybe. Otherwise the Ob said sit down as soon as you feel dizzy so you don't fall over.
I would probably tend to think it was either low blood pressure or low iron rather than anything wrong with bubs. Take it easy and try and relax. Put your feet up and get DH to look after you
I think the girls have given you the answers you need and I agree with them - it's just one of the joys of pregnancy. I almost fainted a couple of times between weeks 10 and 20. The dizzy spells were awful! They are very common in pregnancy though and are usually either your blood pressure, your blood sugar levels (which i think was my problem so I always had snacks or lollies handy) or your iron levels.
Make sure you raise it with your carer but I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. It all sounds very normal to me
Oh, and yes, give work a miss tonight!!!

Hey LizJessie..
As the other ladies have said- TAKE IT EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When your not at work- REST sit on your butt and grow your baby- thats a big enough job!!!
Also if you cant get into your dr, i am pretty sure you can just go the hospital and they will let you go right to the maternity ward and they can at least do your blood preassure check your iron etc and even do a CTG thing which is where they put a little monitor thing on your belly and listen to bubs heartbeat and make sure everything is ok.
And honestly they dont mind you going there- call first to make sure they arnt too busy, but they will most likely say to come in especially if yo explain you cant get in to see your dr till next week.
Take care and drink lots of water and RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
