Are you keeping this kick chart for you, or has an ob told you to do it that way? Like everyone else said, it usually is 10 per day.
That said, you know your baby best. If you've come to expect 20 in a few hours, then you'll keep expecting that. I suppose I'll be the same if I have an active bubba - any less than the usual movement and I'll freak out! With ianto, I wouldn't get scared if I hadn't felt much movement in one day - he wasn't much of a mover, and never hit ten a day.
Maybe try to find a medium between the "10 per day" norm and your "20 in a few hours" one?
I might seem like a weirdo but I don't count kicks at all
My little boy doesn't really kick much when I am up and moving around, its only when I am at work at the computer, watching tv or sitting still do I feel him kicking. Each baby is different. My friend said that her little girl was completly lazy to the point where she was worried that she was no longer alive! She is now 3 and is still a lazy little bugger! HAHAHAHA so don't stress. Maybe bubs is just comfortable in there
If it was me, I would just mointor when you get the most kicks and then if suddenly the kicks routine stops (like they aren't kicking when they normally would be) then have your Doc give you a check. I have been told babies establish their own routines and sleep patterns - maybe your bub has changed its pattern.
