    Sore hips

My hips are so so sore. I wake at nights as they are killing me and when I go to roll over, oh boy does it hurt. Im finding its not just at night but during the day I have like a aching happening. Im sure its from the baby and was wondering do you all get this too. I didnt with DS and DD.

Yep, my sore hips/lower back/pelvis started a couple of weeks ago, gradually crept up on me. It is very sore to roll over in bed or get up off the couch, almost as if my hips are stuck! For me it's worse at night after I've been in bed for awhile. During the day it is ok especially if I get up and walk around regularly.

MISSY I have been getting very achy, cramp like feelings in my hips at night whilst sleeping. I really don't know if it has anything to do with being pg but I have found that if I wear flannelette pants to bed (to keep warm) it doesn't happen. Maybe try that during the night, during the day try to stretch your ITB which is the muscle that runs from the outside of your hip & joins in behind your knee cap. Just goole ITB stretch. Let me know if this helps.

I've been getting the same. I'm not used to sleeping on my side and wake with a real intense almost bruise type feeling in my hip on the side I'm laying on. Seems to be worse on the left side. It can hang around for a while in the morning too after I get up. Guess it has something to so with obviously the position and the fact the pelvic bones would be softening in preparation for labour.
I haven't found a solution quite yet but have some nights better than others for no real reason.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one cause I've never heard anyone esle mention this before.

I'll look up with ITB stretch now i think. THanks Georgi

Have you been sleeping with a body pillow? If not this might help as I started aching a while ago and have since bought a body pillow which lies on both sides of me (handy for when I roll over) and have found it an absolute godsend. It kind of makes me lie in the middle of a nest so I don't get any pressure points.

However I now have Pelvic Instability which is what it might be, so you should go and see a physio or osteo for diagnosis and treatment. They might give you a support belt to wear. I think there is a belly belly article on pelvic instability and if you google pelvic instability a site comes up with all sorts of handy hints on how to avoid aggravating it.

Oh man Missy I am getting the same thing, my hips and back are just so painful at the moment. My hips get 100x worse at night, though thats expected since you're staying in the same spot for a fair amount of time while you're asleep.

Sleeping with a body pillow helps me too, though half the time I end up rolled over and my pillow has hit the deck... MT I love the sound of the pillow you have is it shaped like that or do you just fold a normal bed buddy in half?

    Hi Wombles!

Yeah i know, its crap! I guess there is nothing that can really be done - I suppose it is our body preparing us for no sleep - but at 21 weeks, this is ridiculous!! Good luck with yours....
