    Unhappy swollen.. down there

The past three times DH and i have DTD my legs, bum and vagina have been really really sore and ache a lot. I just got a hand mirror to see what it happening, and i am extremely swollen and very.. vainy (like the vains look HUGE ) I looks very unattractive... to the point where i dont want DH to see it like that.

Is this normal?? I never had it with DD.. its kinda scary

Sorry hun, it's totally normally. I got so swollen, vainy and ugly down there when I was pregnant! It will happen to some women and not others. I'm sure your DH couldn't care less though.

    Hey Telly,

just giving you some moral support, sounds like a terrible thing to discover lol..I remember reading a thread where someone refferred to their vagina as a "big purple hamburger" it made me laugh but I certainly wouldnt if I discovered it either

    Im going to check now...

I had it with my second pregnancy too! Weird hey!! But it would come and go depending an a few factors, If I had been on my feet alot and sometimes in the hotter weather!!
My Ob said it was nothing to worry about, but to ease your mind maybe mention it next time you have an appointment.

yep, totally normal. Gets worse with each pregnancy too. Mine was really bad with Pg #4 - so much so the dr's were concerned when i was in labour that there was too much pressure on one of my veins down there....all turned out ok though....and yes it vanishes after baby.....

i had it with my 2nd and 3rd. vuval vacrose veins suck and yeah they look ugly, and are painful n itchy! (tmi looks like a whole bunch of blue/purple worms down there) what helped me avoid pain was avoiding dry sex, sitting on a ice pack (expecially after sex), avoid squatting. Very normal just very annoying... no cure you'l just have to wait until last couple of weeks preg, birth or a few weeks after birth its different for everyone and yes they get worse with each preg
    wish you all the best!!

Thank you ladies, i'm so glad to hear that i'm not the only one with the problem. I'll talk to the doc next visit, but by the sounds of it there isn't much that can be done. Thank you again xx

    hi tellytubby,
i experienced the same sort of pain after DTD on the weekend. thorbbing is how i'd describe it. I just figured its all that blood rushing around that area.

but one thing i've done to relieve my sore swollen bits is buy mens unides. after a week of stealing DHs i got four pairs of my own and wear them everywhere (except for work).

I just found the ladies undies very restrictive and cut into me but the mens has "ball room" lol just right for a preggie lady!

also glad to hear i ain't alone with this problem.although i seem to be not as far along as some of you other girls eeeekkk.

i have the same thing at the moment.
I also have hemeroids tho.. which are unpleasant. They arent bad at the moment, i got some meds from doc, but i have to be careful not to strain when on the loo and all that.
When DH and i DTD, afterwards, i get so swollen down there, and it aches and throbs i have to sit or lie down. It goes away after awhile, tho as you can imagine DH isnt gettin any where near as much as he would like
My doc said it will all go away, its just one of those joys

I had that in my third trimester with DD1 and was told at the hospital that it was a stage of thrush that only appears that way in pregnancy and to hold on (as I was 42 weeks pregnant). It went away after birth... but I noticed it around 35 weeks and it came and went until I finally had someone check it when they were checking to see where my cervix was....

Just had to reply to this thread - I've been hoping someone else is having issues...

I commented to DH on the weekend that my vagina looked huge... He said, OMG!! You're growing another one!! He's wonderful isn't he?? No sympathy off him! LOL Told my mum and she laughed too. She said I ought to just count myself lucky that I don't have varicose veins (yet) like she did.

OUCH! I really feel for you. i had it with my last pg. It sounds like varicose veins ! I found warm baths (not too hot) with lavander oil helpes. So did putting my feet up and I also filled condoms with wather and froze them! Makes an awesome little ice pack just the right size! I hope it all settles..... oh and don't worry about labour it dosn't affect anything

    OMG!!!!

OMG Telly!! Just discovered last night one side down there is kind of swollen and bigger on just that side. I gabbed a mirror and noticed a bit of a protruding area that now i am concerned could either be the vulva thing or the start of hemmarhoids (sp?) as it is more to the front and i thought the hemmarhoids were a "back there" issue...Serves me right for thinking i was home free lol
