My midwifery student phoning (am doing follow-through program for/with her) and on answering the phone, having NO IDEA who she was. It took me a while to catch on. I was: "Mel? Who? I don't know any Mel's...who the hell is this!?"

Locking myself out of the house yesterday after hanging out the washing so I had nothing with me. Waited 3 hours for Kim to get home. Lol, very silly.

I made my first appointment with the midwives a week or two ago....she asked me for my phone number, went to give her my mobile and managed the first four numbers....after that I was a complete blank!! Felt so stupid...kept apologising to her for the 5 or so minutes it took me to try and wake up DF so he could tell me what it was...all he said was "what???" and half fell back asleep, so then had to try and find his mobile and find my number in it..I also considered using my mobile to call the home phone, but realised it doesn't have caller ID..lol So after that, I put my mobile number in my own phone, yeah I feel really dumb now, but at least I know I can find it quickly if I happen to forget again!

Also been very tounge-tied when on the phone to customers at work, I must sound like I can't speak sometimes! Umm...I've had to stop myself a couple of times when I realise I'm on the way to put the juice or milk back in the pantry and not in the fridge..probably other things too..my memory was bad before but it's worse now! And probably not going to improve anytime soon!

I always have 2 bowls of cereal in the morning and instead of making my second bowl in the same bowl I'd just used I made my second serving in a dirty bowl that I'd had cereal in the day before and had forgotten to clean- a rareity with all the nesting I've been doing- and didn't realise until I'd finished. That was followed with panicking about the milk and knocking over all the other cereal. My DH thought it was the funniest/cutest thing he's ever seen. I didn't.

I'm also constantly forgetting words, why I've gone into certain aisles in the supermarket and my mobile number. I thought mumnesia/placenta brain was a made up thing. I was wrong.

This week I cooked some baked beans on the stove and left the gas burner on for THREE hours after I had finished. DH came home and was in the kitchen and noticed something felt a bit warm I even left the house for an hour in that time. I am so lucky the house didn't burn down.

Cooking dinner the other night, I was boiling pasta. The sauce was ready so I just picked up the pot of pasta and drained it....it wasn't even cooked because I didn't check it first!

Have been putting things that should be in the pantry in the fridge and vice versa.

Just realised that all the silly things I have done revolve around being in the kitchen. I think I should just avoid it for the rest of the pregnancy!

Hahahaa this thread is as funny as the "end of the world" thread. I'm doing all sorts of spacey things at the moment. Usually it's just vagueness and brain-freeze like forgetting the names of people I know well. A couple of times it's warranted behaviour that could be better placed in the other thread (ie. sitting on the study floor crying my eyes out because I CAN NOT find something I had yesterday). Fortunately most of the time, I can just laugh at myself....

I work with kids with autism and we've been working on social games and coping with losing. To practice this we were playing musical chairs. It was my job to supervise, manage emotional meltdowns and remove one chair at a time (not difficult, you'd THINK). Every time the music started I just stood there smiling and thinking how cute they were all dancing around the chairs... then the music stopped and they all clamored to get a chair... and EVERYONE got one (because I forgot to take a chair away!!!). This happened about six times, and by the end of it, a colleague got sick of reminding me, gave me my own chair to sit on and took over my job. Needless to say, there were no meltdowns when we were playing it my way!

SIGH. I was once an intelligent professional woman. Now I'm wondering whether I should really be allowed to have a driver's license or be let near a stove!

I've locked myself and my husband out twice in a week. He blames me because I have a handbag I should have my keys. First time we broke into our bedroom window that's unlocked. second time left them home again my hubby went to go back through the bedroom window and it was locked, he said why isn't it opening I said, I locked it after last time being so easy to break in I was worried someone else might try. So we had to get a guy out to get new keys for the front door and break the lock. He was not happy 200 down the drain for my baby brain

    I am becoming very scattered....

My DH told me off because I decided to put the car into reverse in the garage to back it out and make some room - FROM THE PASSENGER SEAT. I still dont know what I was thinking - sure I had the handbrake in easy reach, but that was just dumb

    hi ladies!

ROFL - thank god it's not me. although I think DP thinks I'm the only person with 'baby brain' LOL.

He's got a friend who owns a video shop and we can get previews to movies that are just out in cinemas and i've been bugging him for MONTHS to get 'the duchess' (as in asking every single day to get it)... this arvo he said 'i've got a surprise for you' and i said 'what is it' and he's like 'you know' and i said 'ooooer baby border' (we ordered one a week ago)... LOL. 'no, the video' doh!

also last week during a 'team meeting' at work i briefly left to check the time and came in and said 'i have to leave, i have an 11o'clock elsewhere' and they're all like 'um sash, it's only 10am' and i'm like "NO, i just checked the time'... (they all showed me their watches and phones) ........apparently ... i can't read clocks now. i've requested they get a digital clock until my brain returns

Katabelleh - i almost cried with laughter at your attempt at musical chairs. hilarious but embarressing.
