parmma we waited until 28 weeks (but this was my 3rd pg) but if you feel comfortable doing it sooner go for it!
Just wondering how soon is too soon to start setting up the nusery?
parmma we waited until 28 weeks (but this was my 3rd pg) but if you feel comfortable doing it sooner go for it!
I started at around 24 weeks - although I went shopping before this time - choosing all that furniture can take a whileI also found I had it done so early that I spent from around 36 weeks sitting in my feeding chair rocking myself silly waiting for the baby to put in the cot! Maybe leave a few easy things to do for those few weeks when you are waiting near the end!!!
I have bought things as the cost isn't something that we can afford all in one hit - people have given us stuff too - none of it is set up though!! I think it is a matter of personal preference!
We set ours up from around 24 weeks too- we would have started before but that was when we got married when I was 24wks and I didn't need 2 "jobs" on my mind at the same time. As Tan said... it's a great idea to not do everything as the last month seems drag and you need something to doI kept washing all the clothes until last... that took me a while

We didnt set our nursery up for DD until I was 8 months PG!! We did move house when I was 8 months PG so we just waited until we got to the last house. We ended up buying a house when DD was only 4 months old so we moved again!!! LOL
This time round I will probably be setting it up earlier than that though....
It's up to you, its very exciting to see it all set up so it is hard to wait too long
Have fun!!
i was so excited this being my first we already have the cot and change table up but we still have decoration and puttin clothes somewhere to do.
Im going crazy at the moment as I cant get into the room which will become the nursery, otherwise Id be in there setting up now, But I m an impatient person and waiting is not my greatest trait.
Ive washed all my baby clothes from Ds and DD have them packed in storage tubs ready to find out what this bub will be.
We've started already! We got our cot and change table from DP's sister and DP put them together on the weekend and last night I put all the sheets and blankets on (Winnie the Pooh set).
I also went through a box of clothes that DP's sister gave us and picked out the ones I want. We just need a place to put them.
Later on I will decorate the nursery some more with some wall hangings etc
HI, we have left it all rather later, we have ordered the cot and change table and i bought a rocking chair on ebay months ago as i wanted a cane one, BUT we started painting the nursery this week, and still have to get carpet, blinds and curtains!!! We are hoping to have it finished in a couple of weeks and pray that bubs doesnt come too early.
Everyone says to us not to worry as bubs can sleep in our bedroom but there is no room at all!
I think that there is never a wrong time (obviously 8 weeks pg is a little premature) but if you can do it earlier you wont have to worry about it later - also i cant wait to just go and sit in there and rock on the chair and think about the bubs that i will be bringing home soon!
Ive started setting ours up at about week 26 and then have rearranged and cleaned things about 100 times since then!!!!
Havent got the cot yet (just have a bassinet), looking at that sometime this week.
Such exciting times. I love going into the room and just moving things around and lookign at all the cute clothes =)
I have been desperate to set out up since we found out we're having a little girl, but so far nothing has been done except sorting through Alexzander's baby clothes!
we have gathered a lot of stuff - through family and friends (cot, clothes, highchair, car seat etc) and it is all sitting in the room that will be the nursery..... DH has started sanding back the cot and I will do the rocking chair he bought me off ebay for xmas, but I don't think we will be ready to actually set up for quite a while. I so want to but also don't want to iykwim???? is still feels kind of early!
With Jett we had the bassinett set up at 7 weeks! LOL
This one we havent even done that properley, we have to change rooms, get a single bed so Jett can go into that and not the cot (will wait till he is atleast walking before that) get drawers, OMG everything! I want to wait till i find out what we are having first!
i didnt start untill i was about 32 weeks.. only because we were waiting to move out of home! however, we did have eveything bought and ready to go!!
i say start as soon as you feel ready! i did spend a lot of time, rearranging and re organising, so i would have gone crazy if we had moved out earlier! lol
have fun!
well im 16 weeks and i have already started, we dont have a nursery yet and wont be moving till bubba is aboute 6 months old. but we have decorated our room as if it were a nursery, we have the cot and everything ready to be put together (which was delivered today without the bloomin fittings grrrrr, otherwise it would be up now, now, now lol).
OK girls - I win for being the craziest of all - I have just finished painting what will be our nursery and aren't even pg yet!
But - I have an excuse (of sorts) as I wanted it painted before we got new carpet in there and so figured that I would just do it the colour that I eventually wanted it to be. Now I will have to come up with a slightly creative excuse as to why I have one yellow room(I also bought the curtain fabric a while ago as it was perfect and I knew that I would never be able to find it again - but it is rolled up under a bed)
We haven't really started yet, but I want to try and do it while I'm still in the second trimester and while I have the energy to waddle around the shops!![]()
