Post Was your 18-20week scan correct with telling the sex of your little bubba? *Poll*

Ok so recently I know 5 girls who have been told they were having a girl at their 18-20week scan and then had a 3d scan at 32weeks just a fun one at like a special ultrasound place to be told their bubba was not pink but blue and they have come out blue!

Soooooo Vote and tell us if yours was right and tell us if yours was wrong and when you found out

I never had a 3D scan, only the regular ones at the hospital... and yep, both were correct Once DH and I knew what to look for, we didn't even need the u/s tech to give us the news - the 'three stripes' were there loud and clear for #2 and we said it before the u/s tech could even get the words out!

Yep my 20wk scan said girl and the sonographer even showed us the '3 lines' so we knew she was right. It definitely did not look like a penis haha so we could rest easy..... and the 32wk scan we had was 3D and that proved girl again also

I hope you get a sonographer who knows what they are doing

Yep they were right, although I was so worried the moment she was delivered that they might have gotten it wrong, and that was the first thing i asked "are you sure it's a girl?" LOL

I only ever found out with our last baby and it was right, but even I could see on the scan video that it was a doodle LOL. That said though I didn't get too carried away buying blue things JIC it was wrong.

    Right for the first two.

Third is apparently a boy - we'll see. My oldest daughter, who was forever telling us to "do sex and get a boy", is now telling us "I don't want a brother and I hope they saw a finger not a doodle". You can't win!

We have mostly green and yellow stuff anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

There is an approx 5% chance of the gender being wrong in an ultrasound. But if you have an experienced sonographer who gets a good look in that area, then you shouldn't have any problems.
Oh, and 3 times have been correct for me.

Correct all three times for me

After two boys I found it hard to believe that I was having a girl the third time, but I happened to have two experienced sonographers in the room and they both agreed she was a girl. DH & I were still afraid they could have got it wrong and DH's first words to me when she was born was "It's definitely a girl!" LOL!

It would be good to have the poll gender based as I wonder if boys are easier to get right e.g.

    Guessed girl - born girl
    Guessed boy - born boy
    Guessed girl - born boy
    Guessed boy - born girl

Or is that too confusing. lol. Just a thought - don't mind me.

We were told boy with DS - was correct
Couldn't see with DD1 until 36 week scan at OB's office - and she told me she was a girl - and it was!
    Didn't find out with DD2 - wanted a surprise.

Only found out with this one, but the sonographer said that he was too well endowed to be a girl. She had to put the blood flow thing on to make sure it wasn't the umbie cord lol :-). I recently had a 34wk scan to check for placenta previa (same U/S place) and they confirmed definately 2 testes (he was faceing my back hates his photo being taken this one).

I found out at 19 weeks that we were having a girl. DH was convinced though that the sonographer was wrong. He thinks she hesitated a bit, and that it sounded more like a guess. But she was right
