    Baby in transeverse position?

Just wondering if anyone can give me any ideas on a way to get bubs moving out of a transverse position at 33 weeks? My baby is practicing it's olympic diving skills, and currently has it's head facing to the right of my stomach, bum in my ribs, with legs pulled straight up in front of it's face, and arms holding the legs in place (i.e. a pike position!).

My OB suggested kneeling with my elbows/arms on the ground for 10 mins at a time, 3 times a day, but after 5 mins my arms and shoulders were on fire - and I have a weak wrist from past surgery, so hands and knees aren't an option...

I know I've still got a few weeks for bubs to shift, but as I have gestational diabetes, my timeframe to get bubs to move is a bit shorter than I'd like. I have an office job (for the next 2 weeks anyway!!) so I spend a lot of time sitting in an office chair, which is not ideal.

I'd be grateful for any tips or tricks that might get this baby moving in the right direction

DD was transverse at about the same stage for us too, and I got down and draped myself over a fit ball 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time - would a fit ball take the pressure off your shoulders/wrist? It was actually quite comfy and I did it religously every day until she was born. After I did 10 mins leaning over it I would also sit for another 10 minutes on it rocking in circles. Within 2 weeks she was head down and stayed that way.

Be careful not too recline too much too, I was told to imagine a beam of light shining from my belly button and to make sure at some point, no matter how far off, that it would touch the floor. Always helped to keep me mindful of how I was sitting.

Good luck and hope Peanut is head down soon

Have you got a beanbag? I spent much of my latter pregnancies on all fours using a beanbag for support to try and get my babies into the best possible position so it might work for you too. Also, if you can move your lounge furniture so that the most comfortable way to watch TV is on all fours leaning over the side of the sofa.

Thanks for the tips. I had read also that lying on my back with my hips/bum propped up on a firm pillow might help? I do find it confusing though that having my bum higher than everything else gets bubs moving in the right direction, I would've thought it was against gravity?

There's just so much to have to try and learn/take in. What with thinking about labour, and dealing with GD, my brain is fast running out of space to fit all of the information in!!

I was going to say spinning babies also! Our baby turned when her father had a chat to her and told her to get her head down. She turned that night. Our friend recently had a baby that was transverse, so my hubby had a chat to the baby, and what do you know her baby turned that night!!! Maybe get someone to have a little chat with baby!

Our bubs was transverse at 32 weeks until around a week or so ago, i can feel her in the head down position and at my MW appt she was in the HD position.

Your still early and have lots of time but my MW told me if i couldnt handle being on my hands and knees i could also lean across a bench or something similar while doing a cat curl (arching your back up) as our bubs had her back against mine which was very painful and uncomfortable!

Hopefully your bubs turns for you
