changes in cervix leading up to birth

    sorry for the TMI...

mkay, i had a little check of my cervix last night and the area felt kinda hard and pretty high so i know thats opposite to what its supposed to be like leading into labour but i couldn't feel a knobbly bit like there is normally, it was more like the whole area was just a large mound kinda thing. Does that mean its begun to efface? i might have another check in a minute just to make sure thats how everything was and i'm not just imagining things, but yeah it was really strange to not find a knobbly bit....

ok, upon further investigation i think the hard mound type thing i feel is baby's head coz the skin over it is still a bit squishy. I couldn't for the life of me reach my cervix, tried to get DH to have a go but he chickened out poor guy hehe. I thought i could feel something briefly way way up and whatever it was was really squishy but there was no way i was gonna get a proper feel of it to see if there was a hole anywhere
