Could it be? (bloody mucous plug)

Ive been in and out of hospital since 20wks with pre-term labour, my most recent stay being last monday through wednesday. Im on meds to soften the contractions. So far no dialation but bub is 4/5 engaged and LOA, so ready to go pretty much. Im only 33 weeks and 4 days.

Last night I was having contractions about 7min apart, very painful. I decided they might settle if I went to the toilet. While wiping (the non-baby end ) I noticed a small 5c peice size chunk of very bloody mucous on the edge of the TP, like as if someone blew their nose on it and had a blood clot? Im sure it wasnt from the non-baby end because I wiped again and nothing but when I wiped my vajayjay I had some veeeeery slightly blood tinged residue. I know it wasnt poo-related because I smelt it (I know gross but I had to be sure). Im just not sure if its mucous plug or show because it was so small in size. I never lost my plug or show the first time until I was hours in to established labour.

Ive had nothing since then but could it have been more mucous plug or a show or something?

I have a very bad backache this morning and contractions but nothing substantial. Im wondering if I should ring and report it to my OB just in case. Thanks.

    Hey Anna

that certainly does sound like a mucos show...and the back ache also indicates that something may be happening...as you are only 33weeks and 4 days I would very strongly recommend that you make your way to the hospital where you are planning on having you baby, and let them call your Dr...it may be nothing but it is better to be safe

    hope this helps
