Not sure about the dilation, but after your first child you normally remain slightly dilated anyway.
As for the sex, no sex once waters have broken, until then everything is fine.
Ok before i start, i would like to apoligise about the content.
Ok, DH comes home work early today and since we haven't DTD in many wks decided to give it a go before DS comes home from nannas. Sorry, but TMI ahead. So we are foolin around and DH is then says " darl you VJ dosen't feel right". Weird, i thought. So i go into the bathroom and have a feel for myself. Well im not sure if it was my cervix that i felt but will exlain. It felt like there was a little sand castle in my VJ with an opening, like a donut but with castle walls, i could easly fit two fingers into it. Is this my cervix and is it dilating??
Oh by the way, DH never got to finish what he started, so no cemen entered down there. But does this mean we can't sex anymore???
Any help would be great on the matter, as i never felt inside when i was preggers before, this was the first time.
Oh, i know when i was 34 wks my cervix was closed, i had an internal at the hospital cause of the frequent contractions i was getting.

it is possible that you are already a little dilated - I could never reach my cervix in late pg, so I don't know what it feels like, but it is perfectly safe to have sex if your membranes are intact.
Damn not finishing DTD...lol. However, good on DH for being able to a) tell that it doesn't feel the same and b) for actually saying something to you!
There is a thread on how your cervix feels somewhere around here... can't think where, will come back with link if I find it...
However, from what I remember them saying in that thread and from what you are describing it sounds like your journey to having your bub is beginning... cervix shortens (hence being able to feel it so readily) and starts opening (the donut feeling)... I will see if I can find the thread - very interesting... otherwise... ALAN WHERE ARE YOU?? lol.
Ok found it!! https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...lated-you.html - hope that helps!

Hi Rach
First and most important it’s OK to have sex!!!!
It does sound like your cervix is dilating; however as this in not your first child then it is quite normal for your cervix to be a little dilated. It would not be a good idea to try to put your fingers inside your cervix as this could cause it to dilate more and even bring on labour. At 35 weeks for many women it is very difficult to feel the cervix as it is usually too far back to reach.
Thanks everyone. Ive got a doc's appointment on Wednesday, so if i ask her to check me, do you think she will?
As for touching it again, yes i will be leaving that to the experts!! Im very scared about giving myself an infection. And DH will be glad to hear that we can start of were we left off. Alan, you said that its usally further back at women my stage. Im It was back, but not to far back. Prop the length of my fingers. Does that sound right? Also 2 wks ago i had the very pink mucus, then the following wk a jelly clear substance with small streaks of blood. Do you think this is my body getting ready for labour? With my son i had the pink mucus and then a few hrs later my waters broke. It was very suddon and wasn't expecting it, as he was 3 wks early.
Hi Rach
Yes I think your body is getting ready for labour. The jelly substance was your mucus plug 'also called a show' but this does not mean necessarily that you are going to go into labour in the next few days. The show can happen a few weeks before you go into labour. However from what you have said I would be surprised if you made it to 40 weeks.
Your cervix being where you describe is not a problem. It is just more common for your cervix to be further back. It’s like saying that most people have blood group ‘O’ it’s not a problem if your blood group is ‘A’.
